  1. Thanks, will try to locate the this 3M product, should be good since its 3M.
  2. Here is the link..... http://www.gizmag.com/landrover-dc100-concept/19665/
  3. Your fish oil treatment seem to be quite extreme, maybe better if you deep fried your car,.... Although rust is a big issue on older cars, this is not much of a issue unless you stay close to the sea. Most of the modern car manufacturing process involves making most parts rust free for at least 10 to 15 years.. Wrt the engine bay, I spray on a degreaser and wash it off with low pressure water . Its some unknown brand found at super markets, quite cheap. but it says it protects rubber parts ,
  4. So the pirce will be " upscale " as well then, its kind of hard to imagine the type of niche market they they can target especially in Sri Lanka. The new freelander 2 is more than enough for the lady of the house or any sophisticated Colombo lady to be driving in, also in terms of off road appeal the new EVOQE does not quite fit in to a picture of slashing through mud.... , but it looks very very sexy.... So in the end its a girly SUV, and if you are a real man you have much more choice would be very interesting to see the profile of guys who buy this ? I couldn't agree with you more, these indians are foolish...
  5. Does anyone know of a good place to repair power shutters, I don't want to blindly got to Darly road as you get all sort of fellows and chances are they might mess it up more.
  6. Great pics Peri, and thanks for sharing.... All in all it was a good night, for all petrolheads who appreciate the smell of burnt rubber and high octain fuel... unfortunately majority of the spectators where disciplined idiots. I came in late so was stuck with the masses till the roads opened up. Most of the guys had no clue on what was racing, they kept on hooting at the guys coming in last, not very nice. I was great to see HE & madam waiting till 4:00 am , atmosphere was great but should have improved on the refreshments ( around 2:30, Hilton was only selling sausages at Rs 600/= , and this is just one freaking sausage !! ). A lot of girls did not want to hand around WTC as most of the pervs were not exactly interesting in watching the cars.. Lets hope we have bigger event next year !!!
  7. Yes it is , as per whats mentioned in quote #296 by Miniace
  8. The Don has mentioned of a " special glue " I think this maybe different from the Silicone glue used for fish tanks although some windscreen guys may use it. I need to fix up a beading ( on the inside of the door ) , tried the black gasket sealer but it comes off after sometime. I need something that is black + has a rubber base so it will hold well to the existing rubber beading.
  9. Is this " special windscreen glue " black in color ?
  10. I was told by someone that Subaru has omitted the under-seal rust protection coating on the Sti RAR, just to reduce a few Kgs of weight.
  11. Shape has some similarity with the Kia Sportage.. which has also won awards for its design. It would be interesting to see how the price will compare against the Freelander, or will this replace the Freelander some day ?
  12. They might allow to use the Shangila ( Army) grounds since there will be no peacock festival on the 17th, Alternatively we could use the car park in front of lakehouse and do a small walk. Called up CSN but they have no clue wrt parking although they are supposed to be organizing it......
  13. I couldn't help notice that you have listed " ladyboys " as one of your interests, and the fact that you got 15 tickets...... looks like its going to be one crazy night )
  14. Thought of sharing this with rest of the members..... I know most of us dont strictly follow the tyre rotation, but if done correctly it will give you even thread wear....
  15. thanks, that's a great price. Just sent you a pm, please let me know the place.
  16. Does anyone have a idea on how much extra weight gets added due to this coating ? What I heard is its a bit think coating.
  17. Finally got the tickets thanks to Ripper.... The ticket ( Rs 3,00/- ) mentions WTC, but I think both Janadhipathi Mv & WTC will be close to each other.
  18. Hey Fonfe, how much bhp is that car pumping ? and is that fire out of the exhaust ??
  19. You are right.... now I remember seeing a few gun metal ones out there.
  20. The white letters are on the 4x4 type tyres only, I think.
  21. Ok, this is what I found out so will share for the benefit of other members , who seem to be as confused as I am wrt this. Peakock Festival are not organizing the races, the races are done by Carlton Sports & Tharunayatha Hetak. The race tickets are sold separately ( Race only ) and the prices are as follows : Ticket prices to watch the races range from Rs50/- Rs100 /- Rs250/- Rs3,000/-. Corporate boxes are available with prices on request by emailing [email protected] 0r [email protected] Now what anything.lk is selling for 1,800 and 1,500 is the Rs 3,000/= race only ticket. The race is on the 17th but they will have qualifying on the 16th. The Peakok festival is like a big musical show, which they will have on the 16 on Chithya road near the ligght house. Tickets for this is sold separately and priced at Rs 2000 ( std ) and Rs 4000 ( V*P ). My guess is there will be several V*P areas where all the posh Colombo elite will stay. Howver Peacock festival is selling a combo ticket for Rs 4000/= ( this gives you standard access to the music festival & a good location to watch the races ) On the 17th these will be some musical events alongside the bi roads and car parks , along with food and drink stalls. It looks like these will be free access to anyone who has the race ticket..
  22. You could also try out running on 95 , also check on your air filter if its clogged. Also better just replace the plugs though they are original its a 2004 vehicles so no harm in replacing with a new set. Also it will not cost you that much. I am not surprised that the problem still remains even after it has been checked out by A*W, the bullsh*t about it will go off in 500kms is just a excuse as they have obviously not addressed or identified the root cause. Its quite sad to see that the main focus of the A*W repair shop near Narehenpita is only focused on Marutis, and they find it difficult to handle more complex situations where more advanced type of cars are involved. A friend of mine has a SX4 in the shop for almost 2 months ! But I think the Nissan repair shop on Union place is a much better outfit.
  23. Thanks, will pm you by end of day today to confirm. Need to check with few other friends on the plans. Also heard the races will possibly start around 10 or 11 and will go on till morning, so no chance of bringing kids to this event.
  24. I have this bad habit of leaving my pens all over the place, I also tend to pick up other peoples pens all the time..... that's why I stick to the good old Atlas.
