  1. Well... not really, but I guess if you sit in the back it can be a little. Anyway Fixzit is right you don't need to give too much emphasis on the comfort factor on a 4X4.
  2. Boku seat must be for " bucket seats " never heard of it anywhere. And the Intelligent key is where the doors open automatically instead of having to press the button, which would otherwise be called a remote key. At least thats what I think.
  3. You know Peri,... they say three is a crowd , and I really would not want to intrude on the nice couple But seriously.... what has happen to this forum ? and where are the guys like DevindaZ, and a few other " decent" blokes who were on this site. Anyway I really don't want to fight with anyone, but when I guy thinks his no end of himself u need to give them a reality check once in a while.... some guys cannot handle the truth. "Oh... Oh ... Master Don, did you notice this ..?" ....sounds soooo. gay my friend . And very mature of you to just mix up my words.... what I was trying to say was "I wasn't driving the B4, but another vehicle with a V6 engine."
  4. Wow, thank you for the blast from the past.... Anyway the funniest car ad term got to be the " Cha Va Let " as refereed to the Chevrolet Cruze Plus, last week I got a flyer from Sen*ok , advertising the new VW Passat, which had Triptronic gears... wow..... .
  5. Are u sure this works or will it make it worse since the glue will melt and make a bigger mess when removing it ?
  6. Whats this big deal of Comfy ?? surely you are not the queen of England ? Unless you have serious back problems I honestly don't think there is a significant difference between the two. One of my previous employers ( NGO) had may 4x4 vehicles and I used to travel a lot, and the most comfortable was the TZ Prado. But the best vehicle to drive was the 3.5lt V6 Montero/Pajero, massive amount of power... unfortunately it was a GDI and had engine issues since we pumped the cheap 90oct fuel.
  7. So.... I see you have been missing me over the week end, sorry but I usually spend my week ends a bit more productively than sit in front of a computer..... Wasn't driving the B4, although it was a V6,.. but don't worry its noting fancy as compared to your Italian V6,,, designed by ..... errr.... whats his name again ? Is he dead or still living btw ?... wait let me check it on Wiki,..... yes.. here it is Engine was designed in 1970, and the guy is dead..... But you were still able to take down an Allion and a EK3.... wow.... super stuff man.. Bravo !!!

    Smoked Headlights

Dumi##a Bodykit guy does this, just google him on the net, the place is in Homagama or somewhere. Kleen park does the clear film for the head lights, and they maybe using the heat gun, so they maybe able to try it out with the normal light, if u are willing to take the risk.
  9. A friend of mine bought a cab, and that too had all the fake chrome stuff on it. Looks like the guys in Thailand have the same taste as it was a used Hilux. He was telling me he too had a hard time removing all that, it maybe a better idea to just paint over it with the same body color.
  10. In most cases the deposit is taken as one months rental value, but this may change depending on the rental company you go for. There also would be a clause that in case of an accident you will need to bear up to a certain amount, this is usually the insurance excess which the rental guys put in to have a lower premium. It is not always the case where u need to specify the person driving the vehicle, as a lot of these places rent out to companies, so your mother should be able to sign for the agreement , but like Milindu has mentioned just check it out before hand. I assume u do have a SL driving licence right ? You also get the individual's renting out cars and u can find plenty in the Sunday papers. These will be very much cheaper than a big place, but u will not get certain benefits like quick replacement cars etc.. If u want a good place check out Kings Rent a Car in Battaramula. You could negotiate a lower rate if u plan to use it for a longer period.
  11. Well if that sounds discriminatory I think u should get your head examined or eyes checked.... I have no issue if people want to go sight seeing on the E01, what I am highlighting is the safety concern of having kids at the back without any support. Oh... btw I was not born with your so called Silver spoon, I have done it the hard way. Wait...... aren't u the same guy who was making such a big deal that you overtook a Allion and a EK3 Honda or something like that on the E01, and saying some name of the guy who designed your engine and all that jazz.... ? Hiyooo..... now that's what I would call pompous hot gas.. I wish I could dig out that post, but this thread is too darn long.
  12. Whats your fascination with rape ?
  13. Thats nothing,..... last weekend I was on the E01 and there was a similar truck and there were going on some family trip ( Vandanawa ) type thing with women and children in the back. If I remember correctly they had normal chairs put in the back as seat !! The driver however was keeping to the left lane and driving ever so slow (possibly at 50 or 60 kmpl), which is a good thing in a way considering the safety of the people in the back. I think a lot of village people try to get on the E01 just to see the road, and the authorities also don't seem to make a fuss about it. End of the day they voted the Govt in, which lead to the ending of the war and the completion of the E01. If we had left it to the ( Pro UNP) hi fi Colombo folk we would be still negotiating a settlement with the LTTE.
  14. What does that got to do with anything ? If a rich Arab guy buys the latest Lambo guys like you would go wow... but if a local businessman buys a Porche he becomes an "average joe".
  15. Saw a nice black 350z near Wardplace just today morning.
  16. So... err....... when were u appointed the moderator of this site to decide what I can post & what I cannot ? You are just a looser trying to be a " Pora " on a internet site, quite pathetic and I kind of feel sorry for u..... Anyway I don't want to waste my time let alone your precious server space trying to have yet another stupid argument with a low life like u.
  17. Is this the Red Maruti by any chance ?
  18. Although we don't seem to see eye to eye on certain things, I totally agree with you on this one. Some of these dog farm owners should rot in hell... Dogs are locked up in small cages and injected with all sort of vitamins etc... resulting in very weak pups. Also must appreciate Otara's effort in changing the mindset of most people who think its fashionable to have a pure bread dog.
  19. Ok, do this, first tell the name and address of this party, so that anyone else who might purchase a un-reg car from this guy can be aware of a potential issue. Then go back to the guy and ask him for a break up of why he needs Rs 35k ( ie: how much for number plate, first registration, etc.. ) pretty simple, then we can cross check if that's correct or not, even you maybe able to cross check it yourself by simply calling up the DMT.
  20. Well..... I never said I am "Mr Know it all pro member", maybe that's why I used " I thought " in front before I said anything. Anyway thank you for the links.
  21. I thought this "cut and bud" operation illegal.... I think there is some option for a person living abroad to bring down the vehicle used by him in that country to SL. And the 2 year time period does not apply in these cases. These cars could be something like that possibly, as I doubt the GOSL will allow registration of assembled vehicles, where they will loose a lot of import duty.
  22. Usually agents will do it FOC, I think you mean the car dealer since its a Allion. If you are not getting a special number Rs 35k is too much for first registration & number plates, unless there has been some recent increases in the rates.
  23. Already told him, the Montero Sport is the best in all aspects. Since there is not much info on what he plans to use the car or if he prefers comfort over fuel economy or 4x4 capability or if he has a big family or single guy we cannot give him a proper answer. The only draw back with the sport is the confort factor.
  24. This is not necessarily the case, there are some very rich dudes out there who would change the complete set well before the thread wear indicator appears. I could also be that one tyre bursts/big puncture, and some prefer to replace all 4 at once. So 3 fairly good tyres get thrown away. Also you get guys who would change the rims even on new vehicles. But the real problem is since rubber deteriorates with time the thread wear is not always a good indicator of how good the tyre is. This is especially the case for 4x4 tyres where the spare tyre is exposed to the sun, but has very good thread.
  25. If you are very serious about getting it checked pm me the details I can put you in touch with some one. You will need to bring the car to Biyagama though.... This place has the largest qty of radioactive material available in SL and you will need to appropriately cover your balls...
