Hi guys A friend of mine plans to sell his fb15 and go for a car between 3.5-4 mil.His choices are narrowed down to Civic FD1,Axio G, and Allion 240 A18.At the moment he is leaned more towarda Civic but kind of in a doubt about it.So i decided to get the expert advice from or AL members.if u have driven all three,or at least fd1 and axio please share ur experiences and opinions. (Even i myself have the idea to go for a FD1 next year so it would be a great help for me too) 1. civics got brand new and jdm imports.what is the best option? 2. He prefers a comfortable ride.civics got multilink but toyotas got torsion beam.civc got a longer wheelbase, wider tires.as a downside low profile tires.in theory civic must be comfier.but when i checked some forums from pakistan and other countries some had said civics got a firm and choopy ride.????is it true?is it more comfier than an axio or allion?or is it hard for long journeys? 3. He prefers the one with the paddle shifters and sunroof.which imports got these options?jdm or b/new?or both? 4. If comfort is priority when buying a civic shuold he go for the jdm? 5. What is the exact fuel figures? 6.how is the engine performance compared to 240 allion a18? so please share ur experiences as a help...i know that i will not be good on fuel as an allion or Axio.but civic got that supermodel look.when a civic passes by our heads turn????.i suggested him to go for a civic.as i mention i would also love to own one.I expect a good explanaition for the no.2 question.thanks everybody.hoping for fast replys.

I met 3 kyron owners.two of them said bad about it.the other didn't say it was bad.he was a doctor and use to travel a lot.he bought it for 2008 permit and when he sold it in 2013 it had nearly 200k km on the clock.all three said the ride is comfy and performance is acceptable.fc is around 10kmpl when pumping super diesel.usually a service would cost around 15k. from what i saw, interior build quality is awful.arm resting pads on the door are tend to worn easily.even the sound of the door closure indicates poor build. rexton is much better than kyron but both of them are assembled by our 'skilled' sri lankan chaps. one of my friend said that his neighbour used to work in micro.he told me that his neighbour said to stay away from micro because of the poor build.most of the workers just twist the wires to connect them, but no shielding.it reminded me once another owner said that when he used to travel through flood fog lights and other lights turned on and off again and again without a reason.????

The rendering pretty much had the existing model with Toyota's new trademark face and didn't lok that pretty. Well....Toyota officially launched the facelifted facelift...and it is much prettier than the renderings. Granted it seems ot be the same car with a few additions like Toyota's safety sense. Apart from that they;ve changed the fabric options and colors and changed the center console and meter panel.<br /><br/> <br /><br/> <span rel='lightbox'><img src='<a href='http://amd.c.yimg.jp/im_siggXUirEHE6YsPPiOqRguSzHA---x900-y594-q90/amd/20160613-10246421-carview-004-3-view.jpg'>http://amd.c.yimg.jp/im_siggXUirEHE6YsPPiOqRguSzHA---x900-y594-q90/amd/20160613-10246421-carview-004-3-view.jpg</a>' alt='Posted Image' class='bbc_img' /></span><span rel='lightbox'><img src='<a href='http://amd.c.yimg.jp/amd/20160613-10246421-carview-007-3-view.jpg'>http://amd.c.yimg.jp/amd/20160613-10246421-carview-007-3-view.jpg</a>' alt='Posted Image' class='bbc_img' /></span><span rel='lightbox'><img src='<a href='http://amd.c.yimg.jp/amd/20160613-10246421-carview-001-3-view.jpg'>http://amd.c.yimg.jp/amd/20160613-10246421-carview-001-3-view.jpg</a>' alt='Posted Image' class='bbc_img' /></span><span rel='lightbox'><img src='<a href='http://amd.c.yimg.jp/amd/20160613-10246421-carview-013-3-view.jpg'>http://amd.c.yimg.jp/amd/20160613-10246421-carview-013-3-view.jpg</a>' alt='Posted Image' class='bbc_img' /></span><span rel='lightbox'><img src='<a href='http://amd.c.yimg.jp/amd/20160613-10246421-carview-002-3-view.jpg'>http://amd.c.yimg.jp/amd/20160613-10246421-carview-002-3-view.jpg</a>' alt='Posted Image' class='bbc_img' /></span><span rel='lightbox'><img src='<a href='http://amd.c.yimg.jp/amd/20160613-10246421-carview-017-3-view.jpg'>http://amd.c.yimg.jp/amd/20160613-10246421-carview-017-3-view.jpg</a>' alt='Posted Image' class='bbc_img' /></span><span rel='lightbox'><img src='<a href='http://amd.c.yimg.jp/amd/20160613-10246421-carview-003-3-view.jpg'>http://amd.c.yimg.jp/amd/20160613-10246421-carview-003-3-view.jpg</a>' alt='Posted Image' class='bbc_img' /></span></p></blockquote><br/> <br/> <br/> I saw it yesterday and the styling is pretty good.anyway it's almost the same car we've been seeing since 2007.get yourselves ready to see them flooding sri lankan roads in the next few months.i'm glad that toyota at least did a better job than the ugly as hell pri-ass 2017.seems like toyota added VSA. But civic got this option since 2006.???.number of airbags have been increased to 6.it's sad that both of them are still missing tiptronic.anyway in sometime we'll be hearing "mudhalalis" saying that how the toyota safety sense c helped them to avoid a couple of 3wheel, motorbike and pedestrian accidents.??????

One of my relation and a close friend own navaras.both are aventuras.one is manual and one is auto.both transmissions gave trouble.i will sort out what they said Automatic-a problem of not changing gears.he told me it took him abt 60k to figure out the problem by visity various garages.then 90k for the repair.last august he said there is something wrong again with the tranny.also said about some other repairs.not much in my memory Manual-problem came with the flywheel.took over 100k for the repair.they imported parts from england through a relation. Other than that, -dpf gives u troubles -leather cracks easily -interior parts are tend to break easily -engine gives troubles -fuel abt 7kmpl -extremely hard to handle on small spaces Bt the cons are -best performance -lots of options -best looking -comfier than hilux From what i know, its better to stay away from uk cabs.even the hilux.one of my friend bought uk hilux and then moved to a vigo.

Help Me To Recognize Whether It Is A Fault Or Just The Car's Nature
alpha17 replied to alpha17's topic in General Automotive
I'm kind of crazy bro....axio is considerably faster.amazing for a 1.5l motor.not fast as a race car.but when my friend drove it,he floored the pedal and it rocks.pretty amazed.he's a brutal driver.he tried to overtake a car when we are going over 100kmh but a lorry came from the other side. So he suddenly turned back to our lane without even applying brakes.it really handled well. -

alpha17 replied to alpha17's topic in General Automotive
I'm in a doubt how could there be much difference as both cars carry same horsepower and nearly same torque..then there should be a fault in my engine....i notice when overtaking its not as good as before.i've driven 30000kms after engine tune up and tranny oil changeand maf sensor cleaning.is it the time for a tune up???? -

What i experienced was quite strange.ok lets say axio's got cvt and newer parts.with four grown ups in the car and weights more than a 121....is it the time for a tune up and injector clean and auto tranny oil change again??? -

It's. A 1500cc 121 -
Hello everybody, I'm in a doubt since yesterday whether there is a problem in my engine.i got a chance to drive my friend's 2010 axio.i put it in the sport mode and rushed and i was truely amazed by it's performance.and there was 4 people in the car.but the acceleration is simply amazing.what i noticed is my 121 having the same engine is much slower.i know i got the 4spd auto while axio got cvt.and also 121 is lighter by nearly 100kgs.i noticed mine lacks power when overtaking.one thing that i noticed was when sometimes (for fun) floor the pedal to the end the gear changes in 4.5-5k rpm.i doesnt go upto 6k rpm.only when i put to L and then to 2 only it goes up to 6.5k rpm.i've seen here in AL some members have mentioned that 121 can accelerate faster than axio.but yesterday i clearly saw the opposite thing.anyway is it just the nature of the 121 (becoz axio got cvt) or there is a fault in mine's engine.here is my car's status -done 130000kms(axio is 72000km and it is hired for sl army) -did engine tune up and trans oil change in 97000km -maf sensor is not cleaned since the tune up What should i do now or its just the nature???experts plz help me.....

Toyota Prius 3Rd Gen Vs Toyota Allion A18
alpha17 replied to alpha17's question in Car Buying Information
Thanks for ur replies.anyway civic is not the car for him as the fuel economy and ground clearance are not good.speacially in kegalle area.hills and bumps and everything.so it seems that allion is the best option -
Hi everyone! One of my friends wants to go for a prius or an allion a18 under 4.5 mil.he had fd1 in the list but dumped the idea becoz of the bad fuel economy.he prefers a 1800cc engine becoz he wants a good pull than the 1500cc.he had been using an axio x before.so he asks me to get an advice for him from AL experts. -he needs to know what has the best performance, specially the acceleration -what is the comfiest -which will handle the potholes and bumpy roads well So plz give ur comments guy.that would be a big help for him Cheers

Even if u go for a well maintained toyota made in the early 2000's u will not get much trouble.i've been using a 121 for nearly 4yrs and still it doesn't give me any trouble.i only did the running repairs like engine tune up,transmission oil change.shock absorbers and ac cooler.i will keep it for another 1 or 2 yrs.i love the car but the reason is not because it's a toyota.i have some special memories in it.but don't expect jaw dropping performance and limo like comfort.but u should probably take a look at cars like mazda axela/3 and of course honda civic fd series.

First of all,if u r planning to install ink speakers and a subwoofer to the original audio system or an old CD reciever you would definitely get only a slight improvement in sound after Installing the jbls.so fit a nice aftermarket CD player.you should stick to brands like Pioneer,Kenwood, clarion or jvc.imo the best is the Pioneer.if your budget allows u go for a 2din DVD player from Pioneer.Pioneer offers more customization in sound effects.I'll definitely notice a huge improvement from your own speakers.then upgrade the front speakers with a brand mentioned above, mostly Kenwood or Pioneer.don't go for jbl's cos most of them in sri Lanka are fake ones. Then add a sub.better to stick with a good brand again.at the same time if I can install a decent 6x9 speakers in the front u will not have to spend ur money on a sub. But I have to cut the inner pannel of the door to installs one.but if you have a good head unit,go for a decent two speakers and a small sub.good for u to go for a slim sub becoz it's a small car.keep this in mind.DONT GO FOR CHINESE CRAP. GOOD LUCK

i've driven the aqua.here are the pros and cons pros -easy to drive -smooth in low speeds (better than vezel) -fuel economy cons -lack of options -bumpy ride -hard seats -less space -poor interior -not much power (just performs like an ordinary toyota 1500cc engine) i hope the honda would be better, but i'm yet to drive one.but one of my friend owns both fit gp5 and prius zvw30 claims that he gets lower than 20kmpl.according to him the acceleration is better than the prius but not so stable in high speeds as the prius.he said that the gp5 comes forward surpassing the prius only in the performance side.i've driven the zvw30 and i say that if you are going for a hybrid it's the best around your budget.i think if you can get a used 2010 or 2011 model you will not dissapoint.

I Just Need To Know What This Sticker Says.....
alpha17 replied to alpha17's topic in General Automotive
thank u for your fast replies.so i will stick to 175/70r14....thanks everybody -
hey guys.... i just found this sticker on the driver's side inner door panel.i know it says something about the tire sizes.but anyway i don't know what it exactly says.i'm currently running all 4 tires 175/70R14.front is nankang comfort and rear is gt champiro..i know both brands sucks and it is time to change the rear ones.so i have these doubts about this sticker. -does it says that front tires should be 175/70R14 84S and rear tiers should be 185/70R14 88S ? -or does it says that all tires should be 175/70R14 84S or either 185/70R14 88S ? -when i visited the tire store they said that i could go for Continental 185/70R14 (Malaysian Made) for Rs.10800.(btw here in kegalle we don't have a vast selection of brands)is it good to go for? please share ur ideas.
-
thanx for ur rplies guys....anyway what about maxxis?what about the current tires i'm using at the front ;Nankang NK Comfort.....
-
Mostly kegalle to kandy....btw the whole kandy-colombo road is patched (what i meant as patches are the layers of tarmac put on the cracks).

Hello Everybody, I noticed that the road noise level in the cabin of my Corolla 121 is pretty higher. When doing over 80 it is a bit harder to tolerate.i replaced shock absorbers with KYB but no notable difference.from the front seat i can hear the noise is coming from the rear and when i travelled on the backseat for testing noted that the noise level is very high than sitting in the front when cruising over 80.currently i have Nankang NK Comfort 175/70 R14 in the front and GT Radial Champiro 175/70 R14 in the rear.Anyway rear tires have worn a bit now and i noted that rear tires should be 185/70 R14.When travelling on the road and the car goes over the patches (kandy-colombo road) the noise decreases suddenly from a huge amount.I just compared with a swift and though it's a hatch i noted the road noise is pretty lower than mines. And the swift was on dunlops as i remember. What is the problem for this? What should i do?I am waiting for your advices. Thank You

And of course most hybrids like aqua, axio, insight etc engines are noisy as hell.specially the insight and freed sound like a sewing machine to me...

Recently one of my dad's friends moved from 121 to axio hybrid.according to the car's calculation, best mileage is 17.3kmpl.and he is using it for abt nearly 8 months.what i see in him after moving to a hybrid is that he is proud of owning a car that bears the emblem 'hybrid' and he never let me drive it.IMO i think 90% out of hybrid users have moved to a hybrid for the trend.the word 'hybrid' has now become a fashion like,'arpico hybrid wathura tankiya'.people who cannot afford a hybrid car can be satisfied by buying a water tank labelled hybrid.
