  1. For starters...you are not going to find an Axio with 188,000km that easily. As you know Axio, Premio, Allion..these cars never exceed mileages beyond 75,000..they just get younger with age I/We appreciate and respect you for keeping the original mileage. FYI...alignment is not a part of the preemptive maintenance schedule. It is a thing that is done as needed (which is what the manufacturer recommends as well). It will be needed if the wheels lose out on camber, toe-in, messed up steering rack, etc...which pretty much means it needs to be done because of hard driving, bad suspension, etc... So...how many times did you do alignment and why ? As for market value....why not go on the popular online sites and see what the asking prices are (get an average)...then get a valuation done (there are companies that do it). Then what you would actually get for the car would be somewhere in between the two values. There is no proper science to determine the value of your car. It is whatever the market price is and the condition of your car, which we don't know. Yes, you have a list of items that say what you have done, but that gives no indication as to how the car rides or handles or what issues it has. The reality is no matter what the value you think it is or how reasonable your price is people will ALWAYS come and criticize your car and make low-ball offers. Cars like Axios are broker magnets...so it gets really bad.
  2. Well....no one knows for certain what the Nissan Renault partnership is at or is headed (Renault does hold 100% ownership of some of Nissan's assets....). As for the Nissan-Mitsu-Honda...the talks failed earlier this year as Nissan didn't like the plans for the holding company (basically didn't want Nissan to be a subsidiary but its own company with Honda footing the bills) and Honda was turned off by the then-CEO (when in reality they just wanted Mitsubishi). With the new CEO on board the current plans seem to be more on restructuring Nissan's internals before heading into any merger with anyone (giving off extra production capacity to other manufacturers - of cars and components, shutting down plants - which for now seems to bring to an end the Vanette and potentially the AD van, sell/lease out Nissan HQ, etc..). But yeah..the Micra is the outcome of the Nissan-Renault alliance. Thanks to the alliance Mitsubishi revived the Grandis name badge after like nearly a decade. Sadly the Grandis is now a rebadged Renault Symbioz. They really didn't even try to make it look different.
  3. It is also the base for the new Nissan Micra/March
  4. Yeah...supposedly 62 or something in total when you include the test and race cars.
  5. From a price point and what you get it does offer a good deal...but there is some cheapness to it. People might flock to it...whether people will buy it and actually keep buying it despite all of that would depend on whether the agent wakes up and starts offering a proper service. I had a friend who wanted to go check it out. Apparently, the sales staff were quite lethargic and did not care a rodent's rear-end. Hopefully that was just a once-off, but listening to how they fumbled up with people who were invited to test drive the car for the media...one has to wonder.
  6. Well..it is the design language of the time. Even the Corolla...the new Corolla sedan feels quite cramped inside compared to the Axio, despite it being quite large (exterior wise). As for the drive...it is less sharp than the old Hondas but definitely more crispier than the Toyotas (coming from a Toyota can feel the difference). The New Hondas have a higher sense of refinement (i.e. more mature feel to it) than the immediately past models. Again...no matter which way you look at it...best value for money in terms of JDM vehicles.
  7. But it is !!!! It is wider than the widest prancing horse though. Interestingly, it is built on a horse chassis. Last year the manufacturer revealed a special model to commemorate this car's 20th anniessary.
  8. To be honest....of all the cars out there, the Vezel does offer the best value for money. As we all have guessed, car prices are not low. Cars like Priuses, Corolla Hybrids, Corolla Cross and even an actual decent spec Yaris are quite pricey for the average person. Then we have cars like the Raize,Yaris Cross, Civic, ZRV, etc..which are not bad in terms of price (relatively and comparatively speaking) but the utility they offer is somewhat limited (good in some areas...poor in others...). The Vezel, I feel, neatly tucks in between all of those. The Corolla Cross is a better all-rounder, but in SL, the taxes are not in its favor. As for BYDs,a lot of people do seem to have anxiety about long-term ownership and resale value of an EV. As for the Prado...that is interesting. I feel that once people are not that impressed with the new-tech, they will find the 2.7L petrol abysmal (but then so was the 150 petrol...only decent powerhouse for both is the diesel..but then Lankans buy these just to sit in traffic). When my kids were here a few months ago we played a fun game. During their time here (10 days) we counted the number of LC250s on the road. This included major cities like Tokyo, Osaka, Fukuoka and Nagasaki. Total : 17. Add in the LC300 and the LX we counted 9 more. Upon returning to SL we did the same. 10 days...count the LCs. One day after we arrived had to drive through Kohuwela, Nugegoda, Maharagama. The tally was LC250: 29. LC300: 10, LX:4.
  9. Just a silly question....are you sure the noise if from the suspension? You are absolutely certain that this noise can't be something like the exhaust banging on something and it only happens when there is some significant force jerking it. Asking because my dad's RAV4 developed a thud. Assumed it was the suspension, but it so happened that it was the rear diff (the metal mount of the bushing was hitting the crossbar of the mounting bolt.
  10. That notched line on the C-pillar tells it all
  11. I wish...but knowing our guys it most likely is the case
  12. According to several sources the make is supposedly registered as Ferrari
  13. YES ! It is an EVA ME-22. Over to you ! Yes..the yellow one has been making its rounds on SL socials. It is quite disheartening to see how people are bashing that car without knowing what it it. Most seem to think that someone took a Miata and ruined it with some weird kit....well..it is...sort of. Eva motors bought base cars from Mazda (the NA roadster) and did up the entire car. The modern-day equivalent to a company doing that would be Mitsuoka with their Rock Star. Although there were no significant performance improvements, they did make cooling enhancements, and depending on the configuration, offered suspension upgrades. Now of course, if you had an actual Mazda Roadster at the time, you could send it to Eva Motors and they would do the same for your car. Apparently, not many were done up like this, therefore, almost all of these cars have been registered under the manufacturer's name Eva and not Mazda. These things are quite rare and sell for a lot more than the standard NA Roadster/Miata/MX-5. This particular one apparently came with the Ferrari badges even from Japan. Some Japanese dude was probably living out his Ferrari (Dino ?) fantasies.
  14. No...go down @matroska's path
  15. Here is another picture which will help you seek out the exact variant
  16. No...as a general rule of thumb do not use ATF on a manual transmission. Use ATF os Automatics, Manual gear oils on Manual Transmissions, CVT fluid on CVTs... It is mainly because the compositions are different and the oil/fluid is designed to help the mechanical/physical construct of the gearbox as defined by specific certification standards. Now..there are some manual transmissions that can use certain types of ATF and some ATFs that are compatible on manual transmissions. Check the user manual of the car to see if your car can handle ATF. If it doesn't say it can. Just don't use it. Not all oils have a SAE rating. Maybe Texamatic 1888 doesn't have one officially published.
  17. @matroska would be the closest....
  18. Oops..sorry didn't realise... Okay..so this car is not what it seems to be. A car that is built on a car that is much loved for its throwback to what British sports cars used to be. Needless to say expecting the actual built model. Yes..the car is in Sri Lanka and is getting a lot of slack for what people seem to think "has been done to it". However, if this is what it was like when imported to SL then it is actually quite a rare car now and is pricier than the car it was based on.
  19. So that leaves open the possibility of the throttle body itself (getting stuck) or the accelerator and throttle position sensors going bad. Depending on what is wrong with the sensor it might not have been logged in the ECU as well.
  20. But you haven't fully answer my questions. When was a complete tune-up done and have you checked the throttle body or the accelerator linkage? None of these would necessarily show up in a scan.
  21. It could be a stuck throttle body or something with the accelerator linkage itself. Of course, this would be the "simpler" explanation before the hundreds of other things that it could be (e.g. faulty sensors and ECU causing erratic supply of fuel and air...). When was the last time your car got a proper service/tune-up? Are there any other issues, e.g. accelerator pedal feeling heavier or feeling not as linear as it used to be, intermittent misses/hiccups, hissing sounds from the engine, exhaust having a petroleum smell, petrol smell from the engine compartment, etc... ?
  22. This is the issue I have. Everyone in China has leaped into the EV market that there really isn't much difference between 10 or 16 in longevity or appearance.
  23. I would have gone with "Frogs do this" but..sure... Are they in SL ? These Chinese car makers are definitely leaping into the SL market with no mercy. Question is will we C more than 16 on the road yet alone C 1 last more than 6 years...
  24. Dang it..when I saw just the doors I was thinking it was an Avatr...but the lights are not it..
  25. No no men....he meant Deepal....apparently it is not pronounced the way we do (as in Deepal the South Asian masculine name). I don't know about the commercial vehicles but Deepal is a subsidiary of Changan Auto who is a part of Changan Mazda. It so happens that the Mazda 6e is based on the Deepal L07. Other upcoming models include the Mazda CX-6e which is supposed to be based on the S07.
