  1. It's one of the best looking cars out there and full of options....spare parts won't be a issue.. after mazda 323 there are plenty of mazda parts available in the market....The only negative side will be the 2nd hand market value won't hold steady as a Toyota in that price range....If you haven't owned a mazda before have to say mazdas suspension system may be bit stiffer than to your liking, you feel the road a bit,you hear the road noise a bit and somewhat bumpy in sri lankan roads, mazdas are built with the sport feeling in mind,...but handling and performance are best in that class...If you can test drive a vehicle that would be good....
  2. I can remember exactly 3 days before i was going to sell the car i replaced the gearbox mount with a genuine one for the 3rd time...the god damn thing again failed exactly when the buyer came and try to put it in reverse the whole car shaked....
  3. Dear bro plz don't but the fb14...Have no issues with other 3 cars..better if you can go for the mazda butterfly i have owned one before, very reliable, it's sporty, light weight, handles well and has real good performance....I don't know about others but fb14 was the worst car i ever had...frame is bulletproof but every single weekend you'll be in a garage....I cant remember a day i drove it without an issue remaining...
  4. @davy I'll do a flush soon and see..car has a timing chain..going through the net it seems mazda 3 has a external pump,I'll do a full flush and see next...tanx for the info
  5. HI rumesh does ground connections means the wires that connect to the engine frame with a bolt?
  6. @rumesh there is no coolant loss or air bubbles in the radiator....but i noticed that inside the expansion tank.there are some water condensation like water drops...with the old one i didn't see something like that....um afraid the coolant is actually boiling..once the car up to operating temperature i see coolant shoot into the expansion tank like they are bubbling, not a steady flow like once you start when the engine is cool...but yes the heat up process happen within seconds...heat goes up gradually within 15 seconds then fans runs fast then when i revved pass 5000 rpm it comes back to normal within seconds then after that can drive for hours without an issue...but lately i didn't let it go over 3/4 of the gauge...
  7. @davy Garage replaced the thermostat with a genuine mazda one...this whole week the heating issue has been very random,i drove it day before yesterday without any issue temp gauge was right at what it was used to be all the time....but today morning the issue came again, gauge started climbing and i revved it to about 6000rpm again came back to normal ..after that drove about one hour in traffic without an issue....only when you said i start to doubt about the sand like plastic stuff, but the stuff was near the corroded line hose of the overflow tank....I wonder why it can last normal after hours i rev the engine....there is no leaks or water pump noises...can a water pump randomly fail like this

Hi davy plz check my other thread...car overheated

    Coolant System Flush

Tanx a lot for the info..
  10. bro i'm not that competent but you can't say it like that...you can rev as you want..the only thing happen is when the thermostat fails open, it takes a lot of time for the car to get to middle temp...but when it's stuck closed the gauge will continuously rise above the normal temp.....But if you are leaking coolant it's another issue....check the water pump area for any leaks...it may be leaking only when driving...rev the car hard drive a bit back and forth and check the road...but if its overheating still show it to a garage...not blowing hot air might be the switch broken or the pump has failed and leaking somewhere without you noticing it.....
  11. HI bro have you checked the ecu for any errors...do a engine scan and see if you can...i once had a nightmare with three popular garages...all recommend me to changed the gearbox so i did...was not cvt anyway...issue came back again it was actually felt like slipping in first gear to second gear...finally i went for a scan myself through A*W guess what it was a randomly malfunctioning maf sensor...it didn't even throw out any ecu codes on normal OBD scanners...was a simple fix wasted lot of money refiling oil and what not..no idea about cvt but better to go for a good scan first
  12. Dear all last week my mazda 3 car came up with a strange overheating problem... This is what happen...sorry for the long story Last week i went to this garage to get my radiator expansion tank replaced due to a small leak,it was leaking near one of the upper small hose that connecting to the expansion tank...so after removing the hose found that the expansion tank plastic line was corroded a bit and cracked...and they also found some plastic pieces like sand inside the hose they cleaned it...the lost plastic part was around 2mm..they replaced the tank with a oem one.. I came home with no problems...then the other day i went on a trip around 200km..anyway i kept looking at the gauge the whole time because of the new tank.had no issues but on the way back when i was near my hometown i noticed my fans were noisy than normal then i checked the gauge it was around 3/4 of the gauge...I suddenly turned off the car and let it cool and opened the bonnet..I didn't feel that much abnormal physical heat and there were no leaks..so again started the car it was back to normal temp then i drove home without any issues....then the other day i went to the garage(gauge was normal) they couldn't identify the problem anyway they replaced the thermostat and bleed the system for any air...they said they checked for 2 hours it didn't heat up... again when i was coming home the gauge gradually began rising than normal so i revved the engine a bit hard.. to my surprise gauge came back to normal...then i drove around 2 hours without any issue...the issue came again today then i revved the engine and it was fine after that.... Fans working fine, they kick in and working, heater works fine...I have this anxiety could be this due to that small plastic chip getting clogged somewhere randomly...how can i sort this out...will a coolant flush work?tanx
  13. If you turn on the heater and if it's blowing air but not so hot..it means the water pump is not circulating coolant or can be a thermostat...check those too
  14. HI mahesh turn your car heater to maximum heat and start your car with the radiator cap off and see if it's bubbling and reducing coolant(if it's reducing add water)...and also wait till the thermostat opens...when the heat gauge come around middle thermostat should open and throw out coolant out of the radiator...if not you might have a large air pocket in the coolant system or at the worst case a head gasket problem..if you drive it this way you are risking actually blowing the head gasket... and also check your engine oil dipstick and cap..if the coolant is leaking oil will look like creamy mud..
  15. Guys could you plz recommend me a good place to do a complete coolant system flush around colombo....
  16. you ran 40k without an oil change
  17. buy a mazda axela manual...you won't sell it again trust me...
  18. 1500 CC engine == > Lower Tax category Hybrid ==== > Lower Tax Electric motor power added to engine power == > Equal to 2000 CC engine (if you believe what they claim) So, not underpowered. SUV like appearance == > Good looking, better ground clearance. SUV loving people can be satisfied. Only problem is, bringing down a Gasoline version (to the permit) is totally useless (no profit at all). So, Hybrid version is the only choice. Gasoline one is probably underpowered too
  19. Does this happen only when driving?

  21. 121 or a 2002 allion for you....
