Thanks for sharing. In your post, you mentioned that your friend replaced air filter, oil filter and oil for 13000/= which is misleading. Air filter has not been changed. The service which was charged Rs. 6000 is an intermediate labor-free (every third consecutive service) service without changing the oil filter. You have excluded the VAT charged on this invoice. I am just sharing the prices of a Jaguar 2200CC Diesel service cost at agents. Please note that you can't compare the service cost of a diesel JAG with a Toyota Corolla because service costs of a diesel are inherently expensive compared to a petrol, considering the larger engine size which requires more Oil and JAGs are expensive compared to German counterparts.

Why don't you share the TL the invoice? I am curious about the cost you have mentioned.
-
Just now I inquired from TL prices for the below items for NKE 165 AXIO Hybrid Genuine oil filter - 2652/= Genuine Air filter - 5682/= Toyota conventional Oil 10W-30 - 4646/= So the cost of parts amounts to Rs. 12,980/=. So, could you please explain to me how on earth you manage to do a full service for Rs. 13000?

Is it the TDI model? I have been using a TDI version here in Sri Lanka. However, this particular model is equipped with a conventional 6-speed gearbox and it also starts from the 2nd gear. I think it is normal because of the higher torque the engine produces.

Better to stick with carmart. If you have already brought down a gray import ideal motors may assist you with service.
-
No,2018 Premio should do 23.9845 on long distance trips.

Are you quoting this YouTube donkey to establish your point. well I feel sorry for you!!!!!!!!!!!!!. As for this guy the only car that you should buy and keep is Toyota AE100 series corolla...

GO FOR THE ABS MODEL. In my experience of using a ABS equipped viva for the last decade ABS has saved my life and vehicle on countless occasions . Do not compromise safety at any cost, ultimately you will regret it in an unfortunate event. Also ABS does not require any additional maintenance and the system is pretty reliable. The only occasion where ABS cost me extra was when replacing the rear wheel hubs. This particular part for the ABS equipped model comes with the inbuilt ABS sensor therefore, one hub unit was around Rs. 20000 whereas, for the non-ABS variant you can only replace the hub racers at cost of 5000.

Import from Japan or Australia : Honda CRV-S AWD
peugeot407 replied to kam.uoc's question in Car Buying Information
Most recommended is obviously agent imported vehicle -
Another strict follower of the user manual drafted for some other conditions. I have seen this trend among Suzuki Wagon R users where they use 0W20 in Sri Lanka and they argue that company is using wrong oil. For VW group vehicles agent recommends changing oil at 7500km. This is based on our local condition and for the tropicalized version of this vehicle. However if you are not using the vehicle in severe traffic conditions you can extend it up to 10000km. Since your vehicle is a gray import and manufactured to different conditions better to adhere with stringent service intervals and service it in 7500km or 12 months. The recommended oil for our conditions is 5W40 Castrol EDGE fully-synthetic.

peugeot407 replied to Thebonaarachchi's question in Car Buying Information
Since Euros are becoming popular here sourcing parts want be a big issue. Even now there are guys who brings down parts from UK whiting 3 days. Biggest issue with PUGS is their engine. Previous lot of 508's suffered a lot with engine issues. I have no idea about their new engines.- 21 replies

Vishwa motors is fully equipped handle the A1. However in my experience for several occasions had to depend on the agents. Loosing agent assistance is a compromise you have to make for the saving you make.

Vishwa Motors Boralesgamuwa

What are the problems you have? For regular services company does a good job for a reasonable price. What is the YOM? If possible, please share some photos.

Buying vehicle for government officers permit
peugeot407 replied to War_Emp's topic in General Automotive
lets understand the basis of government servants permit. According to the government service regulations ( which was prepared by sudda fellows) most of the executive grade government officers are entitled for an official vehicle. However, due to the expansion of state sector and prevailing economic situation the government was not afford to buy and maintain a official vehicle for all executive grade state servants. As a remedy for this problem then government proposed a duty concessionary permit for state servants , where they could import a vehicle from their private funds. Importantly, this vehicle should be used for official duties for five years and then only the absolute ownership of the vehicle would be transferred to the original importer. This scheme was mutually beneficial for both government and state servants. In fact, those days government servants were very reluctant to transfer the ownership fearing departmental disciplinary action for violating permit conditions. Unfortunately, as usual in this wonderful Island nation the discipline of state servants drastically dropped during early 2000. Gradually state servants began follow their parliamentary counterparts and began selling their permits two third parties and no action was taken against these violations. Finally during the regiment of our former president, he completely removed the clause restricting selling of duty concessionary vehicles. thus ending what ever benefit government attained through this scheme and converting it to an expense. Rather than arguing about the permit we must first analyse why it was issued. -
Where is this manufactured? Who is the local agent? Well I have been dealing with V**wa for past several years. However for some issues it required agent assistance.

Sorry I gave up using peugeot after 407. In fact you want be able to save any significant amount with your downgrade. My advice for you is to stick with your S type. Also JAG will be more practical and reliable compared to a Fiat.
-
Since you are changing vehicles considering practicality 308 will be a more viable option. However, this will be a drastic drown grade from your current ride. Whats wrong with your JAG?

I used this in my VIVA, which is notorious when battery life span is considered (usually battery will last about two years max). This battery lasted for 18 months and I got a replacement for the warranty. I am satisfied with the performance.

Good vehicle. no issues, my brother is using a 1.8T and it has clocked 130K without any major repairs.
-
seriously something is wrong with your vehicle. It must do 21.5471 Km/l in traffic.
-
Just forget it.

WOW a typical permit holder. wasting hard eared money and permit on others preferences. There is no such thing as a better second hand market. If you maintain your vehicle properly and offer it for a reasonable price any vehicle would have a demand. In my experience I had a hard time selling vehicles that people consider to believe having a good second hand demand due to market saturation.
