Hi Guys, It's time for a new battery as I'm starting to feel a delayed crank lately and seems the battery is on it's way to a natural death. The stock Panasonic 47Ah 410A 55B24L maintenance free battery has been in use for around 2.5 years and the fact that the vehicle is not driven frequently (around 400km per month over a few long trips) could have contributed to it's premature failure. Is there a reliable place where I can both purchase and replace the battery without the vehicle settings getting reset? I'm planning to go for Global or Panasonic, but don't want to lose the settings during the replacement process. This is a 2019 CRV btw. Cheers!

Hi Guys, I recently did an accident repair/paint job for my vehicle after it was rear ended by a private bus. Even though the repair job was done well, the badging was not perfect compared to how it looked originally. Not a huge issue, but I noticed that the placement of one of the letters looks slightly off. Does anyone know a good place from where I can get it corrected? (except for the agents of course). I know removing the badge involves heating it up to soften the double sided tape, cutting through it using a string and removing the tape residue left on the paint before pasting it back again. Bit reluctant to try it as a DIY Stay safe!

Yes, I too thought about that tiv. But I'm not sure what the agent will use as per their schedule (need to check)...probably they will go with what the manual says I suppose. In that case, it's better to take the Oil by myself - 5w-30 Synthetic. This is what I wasn't sure about. Thanks mate.

Hi Guys, I'm planning to to take my ride (CRV-2019, Australian version VTi-L) for its first (1,000KM) service at Staf##rd. The owners manual says either mineral or synthetic of 0w-20 is fine. But I've heard that it's good to go with mineral instead of synthetic for the first service. I don't want to entirely depend on what the agent says/promotes :). Appreciate if fellow CRV owners and experts could share feedback about this + your experience at the agent (Boralesgamuwa). Cheers!

Registration (15,150/=) + Number Plate (3,300/=) = 18,450/= First Revenue = 4,000/= (could be less for a car) Yes, you need to pay RMV. They will issue an invoice at the time of registration which can be paid at the people's bank counter in the premise itself.

Guys, I registered my new vehicle at RMV last week and today I realized that they had not given me the small white sticker (with the vehicle number printed on it) to paste in the front windshield. Does anybody know whether this is no longer issued or have they missed giving me one? Cheers

Thank you both Prangi and tiv. I've heard that the vehicle first needs to be taken to Werahera to get the weight measurements certified prior to submitting the documents to DMT Narahenpita. Is this the case?

Sorry for bumping an old thread. I think the DMT site does not clarify some of the above questions. Curios to know how it happens now. How to take the vehicle for inspection? (Should the vehicle be taken for an inspection at the time of submitting the application?) Is it legal to drive vehicle for inspection since I have no garage plates? (Having the Chassis/Engine number displayed will work?) Can I get it done within one day? How long does it take to get the number plates? Cheers!

I guess the Australian version might suit better as the climate conditions are somewhat similar. Having said that, there are several JDMs of various car makes imported in to Sri Lanka by the day. So importing from either should be fine.

I assume the VTi-S model from Australia does not come with a sunroof. The sunroof comes for the 7 seater L and LX models I believe. del1972: Did you purchase the vehicle through a local dealer/importer? Was it brand new? How does it work with the buying process? I assume there's no auction/bidding process like in Japan involved. So just curios to know how one would know/see the real condition of the vehicle prior to purchasing.

Thanks. Will issues that could occur due to fuel quality and things like upholstery cracking still apply even if it is purchased brand new from the local agents?
