It’s a recently filled land and will not be good for drags if the track is wet; otherwise the track has enough traction. A motor car club also was looking at this for timing event, but it did not take up as of some other reasons. Track is very much favorable for MINI’s, so no worries for us Guys will see our MINI’s running against 2ltrs there

Yes we can propose any plans to the owner there. Only thing is, he should get a fee for track maintenance and some profit. He’s open to suggestions. In fact he asked me to propose a fee when I suggested drags there.

They have an ATV track there now. The owner told me that they can quickly prepare a track for drags as they have equipments. Guy is always there – it’s near the 2 bumps @ Jayawardhanapura hospital road, Thalapathpitiya. I can get his phone # on Monday. He asked me how they can charge and I proposed Rs.250- per run. Only thing is he needs a guarantee that there will be drags happening there every week or more frequent. That’s why we need a group of organizers here. According to him, they have police permission to run any kind of races there.

With my experience with drags and police, I can’t think of a way you could get permission to run races on public roads. However I discussed the possibility of getting a track for drags parallel to the ATV track near Sri Jayawardhanapura Hospital. The guy was very much interested, but he will need backup form some organizers, so that he said he could get a gravel track prepared for drags. You can have stretch about 750 meters there and can extent with a small bend. If few of you get together and make this initiated, you will have a safe and official place to drag with a reasonable fee in Colombo. Since most of our cars are front wheel drives, I personally think that gravel track will be ok.

Any taco (RPM gauge) which counts the RPM through ignition pulse can be fitted to any Mini engine model. When fixing you will get the ignition pulse from the negative (-) terminal of your ignition coil.

Soltron gave a better acceleration and PowerClean helped a better mileage gain through cleaning the fuel system in my Nissan March K11. But both the products were not significant in my 1.3l single point injection Rover Mini. However I still use PowerClean as it worked better comparing to other injector cleaners along with their prices.

I will try to get the relavant pages scanned if i manage to get hold of a copy. any way the steps are simple as start > keep on idle for 10 mins > drive few KMs, etc , - you will not need to edit fuel maps by connecting a computer or anything to recalibarate the Lancer ECU.
-
Try recalibrating the ECU. You can do it by yourself if you have the owner's manual. One of my friends had the same issue with a Lancer after a battery problem and he recalibrated the ECU by himself referring the manual and got the problem fixed.

Yes. That’s my car. I now drive it every day to office to beat traffic jams As you say I also had many problems with the main fan belt. After trying out all available types of belts, now I use an 'A' type local belt. I tried from very expensive to local belts, this particular one is the only belt that works closer to what I wanted. 1. Local belt has a little elasticity that helps not to get the water seals damaged when you run tightened (any way you have to run tightened if you speed while A/C is on). 2. Not slipping when A/C is on at higher RPMs. 3. Belt is low cost - it's below Rs.100- as I remember However this local belt starts slipping if the engine gets over heated. To overcome the heating issue, I’ve taken 2 measures: 1. Using a 74 Celsius thermostat valve, which keeps the water temperature at 94 Celsius all the time. 2. Wired the radiator auxiliary fan to switch on when the A/C is on, apart from the thermo-fan switch’s functionality.

There were around 30 MINIs @ Primart, out of which 24 of them were competitors. I would say it was a very well organized rally and we all should thank to the Rally Officials. Even the results calculations were done electronically and each and every competitor got their scores printed at the end. RACERSEDGE, I drive a wine red 1.3 SPi. MINIACE should have a good number of pics at the start near AMRC track. Mate, plz post few….

see in their site: http://www.motortraffic.gov.lk/transfers.php you should be able to to dual tranfer in one day service. you do not need a middleman now, but the regular tranfers take 3~12 months even though you followup.

Be cautious and do right cable adjustment at the outer tail near the gear box. I've had an experience of a hard vibration when picking up after replacing the clutch cable, and found to be that it is happening due under adjusting the outer near the gear box in my 1st VW 1200. Clutch cable replacement in a VW beetle was quite simple to me. I just observed from where the oil inner cable went through and simply put the new oiled inner cable along the same path from front to rear.
