Thinking on your line of thought I would agree on most of the points. It makes sense that manufacture's requirement to keep their brand name. But normally I'm skeptical about today's marketing. Normally everything is designed to optimize profit. I think giving free maintenance also in some cases to keep you loyal to that brand ( so that you won't consider other options). Any way thanks for the ideas coz their are some which never occurred to me.

Simple thought on following owners manual maintenance schedule. Car manufacturer might indicate service is required by 8000 or (12000) km. But think their motive. Normally in other countries these cars are sold with warranty. It's logical to think that car manufacture only want his car to perform without any issue during this warranty period. Also by giving more distance ( or time ) between service intervals he can market his vehicle as having low maintenance cost. After warranty it doesn't matter if car start to give problems. At that time you will be left with repair bills and ready for next car. Therefore I think following car manufactures schedule should be done with wisely. It's designed for car manufactures best interest. Also listening service stations recommendation should be done wisely. They give advice for their best interest. They want us to come to their service station so often, so that they can give loads of problems ( which probably don't have in car) and take away our money. Just a simple thought.

Don't know about the break fluid. But you need to change clutch oil on 40,000km. Recommended one on manual is for 160,000km. But don't wait till that.

Honda Vezel 2014 Gear ligts blinking in dashboard whith ! mark
virajn replied to Peter Perera's topic in HONDA SRI LANKA
My car had different error message but also related to gear box. Issue was some dirt in gear box circuit. But if you can't move the car or having issue while gear changing, you might be in end of your dual clutches. Changing the clutches is expensive. -
Also know that dual clutch can be problematic when you drive in traffic. Since the computer predicts the next gear , in some (rare ) situations these prediction can get wrong depending on the traffic condition. Let's say you travelling at 3rd gear in traffic and you see traffic in front of you slows down. So you apply break. Computer then predict next gear as 2nd and pre-select the second gear. Suddenly traffic condition changes. Now there's free ahead road. Now you accelerate. At this time car hesitate to accelerate. Computer now need to undo 2nd gear selection and select 4th gear instead. This take second ( or half ). Once the 4th engaged you suddenly feel jump forward. This is not a issue and completely normal. Otherway also possible to happen.

I'm using GP5, which I guess have the same dual clutch transmission. I think following videos would help. Any way be gentle on gear box in heavy traffics and going up hills. ( DCT life has 3 videos. Also there's separate videos DCT for dummies form same presenter explaining the DCT internals ). Knowing engineering behind your car makes you better driver ( for your car ).

What are the best fuel efficient Hybrids in Sri Lankan Market
virajn replied to Hasindu Gajanayake's question in General
Yes. 100% agreed. What you are telling is true. I normally don't drive this way. I do sudden acceleration in sport mode to overtake buses most of the time. I didn't say i'm constantly driving this way. I said once I achieved this and car is capable and any one can try that. ( Cars these days are so much advance in engineering and you have to give credit for that.) I said my best figures. Only once I have achieved that figure. But if one can drive this way ( without getting bored ) it will not only save fuel money. These driving techniques having mechanical sympathy ( please search in the net before anyone trying to insult me ) which will increase lifetime of your car (engine, transmission, breaks, suspension etc). But at the end of the day who has time for that. Family is waiting and getting back home as soon as possible is the best. -

Were you there ? How can you tell it causing traffic ? You want race you can race. I drive within the speed limits. This is from car makers. -

@Crosswind. I have tried share my experience here. As a experienced user why you want to insult people. You have crossed a line here. I don't want insult back. If I'm wrong show me where I'm wrong. Why do you want to insult and be a dick ( is it because it's lot easier when you in safety behind the keyboard then you can type whatever you want). Be a professional. Talk to the point. https://www.metrompg.com/posts/pulse-and-glide.htm. If this is wrong tell why ? Why do you want to insult people without any reason ? -

This is from kurunegala to Colombo in very rainy day. Because of rain I didn't go fast. Also I used pulse and glide method. Yes this not very practical because to achieve this efficiency you need go slower avoid sudden acceleration. Try glide as puch as possible. And it consume lot of time. Anyway car is capable of giving this efficiency. In Japan this is markted as giving 36kmpl. Also another detail. I have once notice around 35kmpl instant consumption on engine running ( not ev mode ) in expressway. This was when doing around 98kmph . ( Car don't have digital meter so can't tell exact speed) I was doing constant light acceleration ( with eco mode on) . This consumption last like 5min. Change in acceleration drop it around 30. Some one can try it -
I have 2014 Honda GP5 which has 45000km milleage. Recently car started gave gearbox warning. I have changed the dct oil after warning appeared but it didn't resolve the issue. After driving sometime warning appears but there's no change in gear changing or pulling power. Everything feels normal. Warning gives with d indicator flashing. After warning appears car cannot put to park gear. When car restart warning get removed. I want expert advice what to except before go to repair it. Currently I'm not running the car to avoid any further damage.

Dual clutch has its own prons and cons. I don't think its designed to heavy traffic in long term. The problem is when you continuously travel very low speed ( like less than 5kmh) clutch started to slip generating heat. Dual clutch is designed to handle this heat but continuous usage like this will reduce its life time. Best option is to in heavy traffic wait for some space and ride bit faster enough to engage first gear. Other than that like @TheFlyingFox mentioned its quite fast shifting with great fuel economy.

You said according to the manufactures. Where do you get these information ? Do you have website or manual ? If so please share this since lacking these kind of knowledge people tend to follow these service center guys telling. It would be really helpful to know these information. Thanks.

Honda GP5 2014 - Long run 26kmpl ( My best was 32kmpl) Colombo - 16kmpl ( Best 20kmpl) But as I have experienced Aqua gives more fuel economy. -
I'm owner of Honda GP5. I have been advice to do the dual clutch oil replacement at 45,000km ( Actually between 40,000 - 45,000 km) from ster** service center who gave the warranty for the vehicle.
