Hi, To add a few, voltmeter testing won't give the best idea.Sometimes it may give satisfactory voltage but still would fail to crank.[personal experience]. Best to check with a Load Tester.However before connecting the Load Tester the battery should be fully charged . This is what we do for ships' lifeboats to check for any battery drain issues.Hopefully this will enhance your knowledge along with the others' opinions. Plus use the Hydrometer to measure the Specific Gravity of the Electrolyte.On the meter the correct value should be in the Green range.[This test is not applicalble for fully sealed batteries].All cells to be checked.The electrolyte level should be well visible when you see from top after removing the knob.The knob for each cell is with an opening to let out gasses [Hydrogen] produced. If the value is above the green zone you can add Distilled water to bring it down,if its low you should take it to a battery shop. Good luck

Hey dude, I'd suggest to go for the 1.8 l ,engine to get more power and fair fuel economy [compared to 1.5 l]. You will need the extra power for safe overtaking specially in Colombo. Don't be concerend with petty stuff like the colour of the digital meter as long as they are not faulty. Suggest ask more advice on the 1.8 l engine from a couple of mechanics and knowledgeable ppl in this forum. All the best.

So far I have gone to Senok ,Vishwa Motors at Boralasgamuwa a cpl of places at panchikawatta[ I think it was Niroshan Motors]. Vishwa Motors-077309981 Dinesh- 077156674 There was another good mechanic named Dinesh,he used work as a technician at Laughs Dematagoda,heard he has left though. It was once only I had to wait a few weeks until a rack-end was brought down by Senok. Lately I have seen a few adverts on Hitad and on **man.lk who bring down German parts. I cant tell you of the prices outside agent as mostly I got things done at Senok and brought some stuff from Dubai.Lateley I found out I could get stuff from sources other than the agent too,but obviously it was too late,coz I had already sold the cars. Next time I'm owning one Id dfntly check those places out too coz they are dfntly cheaper than at the agent's. Probably your experince is vast on the Euros mere suggesting the Passat out of my enthusiasm towards German cars. Whenever someone asks my opinion for a VW/Audi I tell them pros/cons as per my experiences and encourage them to own one as them cars give a fantastic ride and experience. I'd really want to buy another Euro when my pocket becomes deeper . Cheers.

Hello, First of all your mechanic is not proffesional.When the misfire occured initially he should have checked all regarding fuel supply to fuel combustion.,from fuel filters,spark plugs ,throttle body cleaning included and even the kind of fuel used recently. You should bring the car to a proper mechanic and probably get a Tune-up done and perhaps scannes as guys mentioned. For nissans I reccomend Ravi at Bulugaha Junction ,Kandy road and a gentleman on at Kotta road who is famous for tune-ups,sadly I dont remember his name but he does his stuff in his garage. Hi Devinda, Yeah sure why not,as others mentioned you should be prepared to spend some when a breakdown happens, it will be more expensive than a Japanese obviously but for the better ride you get and the European status it comes with ,it would worth it. It may depreciate faster than Japanese but Im sure you are willing to take that risk. It is German so it will put up nice as long as you treat it same which wont be an issue given the availability of spares and mechanics. If this your first European car ,it will be a whole new experience for you and you will love it. Cheers

Hello J.E WD40 would be a temporary measure and it IS a penetrant. It will penetrate and lubricate soon after you spray but will evaporate in a while too. Best would be to dismantle and remove rust/put a little bit of oil and check for freeness of moving parts and fix the issue of water ingress. All the best

Hello Yohanl, Not sure about the particular year model but I think Passat is great .I have owned a few Audis and they are great cars and you can find spares without much difficulty.There are a few independent mechanics too. Love the interior in the 2007 model and really worth it at the current market price. I dont think the repair cost is TOO much when repaired at the Agents, coz even for a Japanese car,if you get things done at the Agents ,it will be definitely expensive. I suggest you go for it and enjoy the ride. Good luck.

Hello Thanushka, It depends on your driving style, the road condition and the atmosphere the tire is exposed to often among other things. Most of the recognized brands would last over 30000 km generally.

Hello lahiru-carlover, Michelin would also be a good choice.I found a pair [ for a March AK12 ] imported from UK .If not, best is to try a Japanese set. Korean-made Nexen/Roadstone are less expensive but may give you bit of road noise,nothing unbearable though. I think it's good to stick to the Maker's recommended tyre sizes [ found at the bottom B-Pillar mostly] as this is associated with other vital parameters of the car such as braking,perfect geometry and performance,you know if you consider technical aspects ] Please search the previous similar queries and you will get more info. Hello mdinuth, I guess it calculates as an average according to your throttling pattern in a specific time. It's approximate coz in some Audis ,they drop in 5 kms but in the CRV the mileage drops in singular kms as the fuel is burnt. Best is to keep it as an approximate reference and an assistance for adjusting your driving pattern. I hope experts in the forum will shed more accurate light on your query. All the best.

Hello Perfmad, Sry to hear your troubles. Maybe you should have it checked from Upul at Malabe. I have been there twice for minor stuff and to be honest didnt witness anything extraordinary how things are going there but a regular told me that when he faced a gearbox issue ,Stafford made a blunder of an excuse and Upul had sorted the problem out.Hopefully yours too .
