Did you get yours?

I have been following this thread as if it was a love story 😁. A smooth flow in the beginning, bit of a sudden twist and a sad ending. But i guess you made the right call. Good luck on your next purchase mate!

Thanks for the detailed reply mate. I was confused too but a lot of sellers had that note saying "Will not work on Diesel trucks/cars" Will order a bluetooth one and see 😃 Nothing to lose. And yes, there few threads on obd2 scanners. Will check them out. Cheers!

Are these OBD2 scanners specific to petrol vehicles? I tried buying one from AliExpress and most have a note saying they won't work on diesel cars/trucks.

i feel they are taking everyone for a ride now 😅

Hmm... so definitely something to be checked i guess. @JayZ any places you would recommend to do a check up other than Kia?
-
Mine has 70000km mileage now. As i originally posted its doing nowhere near what you have posted. My trips have been almost entirely within the city under heavy traffic so far.
-
ATF change was done just before I bought the vehicle. The first ATF change involves some additional work right(heard this from the Kia agents)?

~70000km

If this is in expected range i am fine with it [emoji2] I saw people quoting 10-12kmpl value in few forums. So was wondering whether there is something that need to be checked at. As for the tyres, the ones that came were Nexen ones. May be thats something i'll change after a while. I drive mostly with a heavy foot [emoji1787] and i think that will be a bit hard to change. Thanks for the tips mate. Sent from my SM-G975F using AutoLanka.com mobile app powered by Tapatalk

I bought a 2014 Sorento Diesel AWD few months back. I haven't been able to go for any long trips in the Sorento due to the COVID-19 situation. So most of my trips are within the city limits in moderate to high traffic with lots of stops usually. So far I have noticed the trip meter shows around 18-20L/100km (~5-6kmpl). Is this in usual or should i get something checked? TIA Sent from my SM-G975F using AutoLanka.com mobile app powered by Tapatalk

Even after explaining so much, one of my relatives went and bought a dfsk few months back. He hasn't driven much yet so i guess for now he feels he is safe. Seeing this thread makes me sorry for him [emoji40][emoji40][emoji40] Sent from my SM-G975F using AutoLanka.com mobile app powered by Tapatalk

This is from the little research I did when I was searching for a Sorento to buy. According to Kia Agent, the first transmission oil change needs to be done around 60k - 70k and costs about 80000/=. Thereafter need to do the same every 60k. I can't remember the exact price but it was much less (less than 15000 if i remember right) than the first one even if you do it with Kia Agent. I asked them why the first change costs more. They said, in addition to oil change they have replace certain parts on manufacturer's recommendation to do so (first change only). There is a garage in Madapatha Rd, Piliyandala and they charge around 60000 for the first transmission oil change. I too inspected a 2014 Sorento in the company and they handed me a 300000/= and most of them were pre-cautionary. I asked the guy who inspected to give me priority order on what should be addressed first. So planning to fix stuff little by little The parts and charge labour charges are about 2.5 times than outside (I think this is a common scenario with other agents too). A radiator replacement in the company was quoted to be 89000/= outside the same thing can be done for around 45000/=.
