  1. Even your closest friend lies when it comes to fuel figures. How can you believe the seller? You cannot expect more that 10kmpl with careful driving from a auto sedan. If you want the driving pleasure, you should expect even less like 8-9. I can agree with TheClutch on ViRS. One of my friends bought a 2000 made one for 2 mil few months ago and he absolutely love it.
  2. Ok. If you are willing to do the compromise you can buy a 2012-2013 Viva Elite Manual one and drive it with peace of mind.
  3. Hi sira, If you love Honda, that should be because of the way it drives. The options you mentioned does not match a Honda in that regard. You'll feel that you have downgraded your car. If the only reason you want to get rid of the Civic is that it gives trouble and you want a trouble free car, I think the newest you can buy with your budget is a Viva Elite. If you still value the driving pleasure, I can recommend the Mazda Demio. I'm talking about the 2007+ model. So, it is not within your budget. Don't know how the pre 2007 Demio fairs the driving pleasure. Why don't you write your priorities of the car you are looking for? Then it's easier for us to give you a recommendation.
  4. Hey Crosswind and fookie, peace peace. @Crosswind: fookie is not a type of a guy who does cheap things on cars. I know him personally. fookie is an owner of a Demio and he takes a good car of her. If you remember, he helped Davy with his Demio too. Just wanted to clear the air. Hope everything will be fine.
  5. My vote is on Demio too (obvious I guess ). But is this the correct thread for your question? Either you have your question answered on one of the posts or you need to create a separate thread. Otherwise we all are creating irrelevant content on this thread. This is how you effectively search on this forum (in case you need it): http://forum.autolanka.com/topic/15808-how-to-search-on-autolanka/ Good luck with your car hunt !!!
  6. Congratulations on your buy !!! Post some photos please...
  7. Yes, stay away from buying cars if it is an option for you. If I was you, I'd buy the Swift because it's relatively new and has a good ground clearance. Just my personal preference though.
  8. Yeah, that was noted machan. Premio and Allion are listed in our OP's original list. I though "So why not Lancer EX?"
  9. How about a newer Lancer EX GLS? It got a really good ground clearance and would be economical as well.
  10. How bad are these broken roads? Is it impossible to drive a car without being hit or are you concerned about the wear and tear, parts like shocks? If you are concerned about the later, you'll probably have to go for a 4x4 capable car with sophisticated gear to handle rough stuff (correct me if I'm wrong). As per the options, unfortunately only Vezel comes to my mind (I neither used it nor love it)
  11. First 2 pages of the first thread shared by Crosswind gives you most of the answers. Fuel efficiency: 5-6 city, 7 outstation Maintenance: Very solid car. But that was 5 years ago. You should still be safe with a well maintained one I guess. Availability of spares: Mazna Motors and Asiri Motors got those for a decent price. Not sure about the availability of manual ones since I read only up to the 2nd page of the above said post. Rest of the content might cover that. I've taken time to write this post because I'm a fan of the Mazda brand. Next time, please make sure you make an effort before throwing your questions here. Otherwise, forum members won't reply to you. In my case, I didn't have to write a single post to settle with my first Mazda car which I love to drive everyday. Good luck with your car hunt !!! Please post some pictures once you find a car as a gratitude to the people who helped you.

    Demio Service

Davy, that's where I get my service done.
  13. Agreed with Magnum. If you look at the current second hand market for Vitz 2nd generation car, 1300cc one goes for few hundred thousand rupees more. Same will be true for the 3rd generation as well.

    Demio Service

I spent Rs. 15,850/= to get the same thing done at Colonial Motors (with original Mazda parts of course). It came down to the price of the air filter. So, for the service which doesn't involve air filter changing you'll have to pay more at the PitStop. That's interesting. I recommend you to service your car at Colonial Motors if it is not too inconvenient for you. If their parts are too expensive, just buy those yourself. They will use those.
  15. If I were you, I'd prefer Axio over Premio because it's newer.
  16. Congratulations on your buy mate !!! When the forum helped you make your decision, you should return the favor by sending some pics . (Just saying )

    Demio Service

I own a Demio and do my service at Colonial. Nothing to complain about their jobs so far. But you need to be prepared to give them a good 6 hours to complete the service. Here's my last service invoice which will give you an idea about the cost. Oil filter = 1,943/= Air filter = 6,188/= Oil (Castrol 10W40 4 litres) = 3,996/= Labour charges = 3,057/= Sundries = 666/= Total = Rs. 15,850/= The cost came to 15k+ since the air filter was changed. It is usually about 10k. Hope this helps.
  18. No experience with UR Motor Care. Best places I know for Mazda's are Mazna Motors, Pepiliyana and Colonial Motors (agents).
  19. I owned a Maruti 800 for 2 years till March 2014. All the services were done at the PitStop and maintenance at the Matuti Suzuki workshop next to that. I had nothing to complaint about any of the things they have done. Charges were very reasonable (Around Rs. 6,000/= for the 5,000km service without the air filter). You get a checklist after the service.
  20. Thanks for sharing this for future reference for a person who is interested. I too have questions over suitability of a hybrid for a person with your driving pattern. But on the flip side, you have driven 72,000kms in 4 years. That must have been your consideration. About all the fuel figures. Have your used paper+pen/excel method for this? If yes, may I suggest you a mobile app. It will allow you to keep track of fuel, maintenance, insurance, etc. You will get a nice idea about total cost of owning the car which I believe is what you actually want to know.

    Tyre Prices

Brand: GT Radial Model: Champiro 55 Size: 185/55 R15 Country of origin: Indonesia Price: 11,700/= (in February 2015) From: Universal Tyre House (opposite to Borella cemetery)
  22. Thanks Don and MadMMX for all the knowledge sharing. Now I understand what it takes to become a BMW owner. I stayed away from the conversation because I did't wanted disturb the flow and I certainly not knowledgeable to do so.
  23. Removed. Double post. Sorry
  24. Once, Colonial guys showed me the new Mazda 3 when I went there for a service. At that time, that guy did mention about the Axela Hybird as well. As you already know, they don't bring down the Axela Hybrid. But, check with him if they are capable of handling the hybrid as well. They seems to be very committed in building the Mazda brand. So, there's a chance. I had few issues with the service of Colonial Motors at the beginning. But they seems to have improved themselves with time. I find them really easy to deal with. I hope things will get more positive with them in the future. I'm sorry I have to agree with MasterDon about the looks of the new Mazda 3. If I had that money, I would buy a Mazda 6 any day .
  25. Yeah isam. Same story here. All these BMW craze started after I drove one of my friends' 520D. I told myself "One day Sameera. One day :D". But I don't think I'm financially ready for this yet.
