there is a good place for car valuations in dehiwala. i cant remember the exact name of the road but i remember the road was in front of dehiwala arpico supercentre. (on sea side) i leased my car from vallibel finance & they gave me the contacts of this place. guess u can get the number if u ring vallibel finance (and ask them about the valuation place at dehiwala)

yeah according to econ rules, competition is always good for consumers. but just to mention that if you take the local television and radio, more and more channels are comming but the industry is getting cheaper. anyway i havnt experienced airtel so i dont know how is their service. dialog is doing a great job so far. hope they will keep it up.

Im not sure about the prices of sims bt as i heard, airtel call charges will be much less than dialog and other networks, Also technology-wise i think they will be good as dialog as they have already got the 3G licence. Anyway im engaged in the advertising field so from my point of view, im 100% agreed, tigo advertising campaign was a total disaster. It didnt build the brand BUT it just made it more bad and worse. They used african-like ppl on thier tv commercials, press ads and on hordings. And for thier out-door promotions they used a gang-of people who run around roads wearing funny faces which was a kinda joke. I think Airtel will have much better quality advertising campaigns as they already have good meterial which they use in India (I mean TV and newspaper ads) and they know the subject "advertising" much better (just like dialog ppl do)

DialogGSM, Sri lanka's #1 mobile phone network provider recently announced that they have lost Rs 500 mil. bux from their subsidiary company DialogTv. According to the CEO of DialogTv, Mr.Naushad Perera, DialogTv has won a customer base of 45,000 with-in 9 months. But still they havent make any profit out of them. Whats the reason? inefficiency? High Expenses? However Dialog share prices have gone down from Rs 26.00 to around Rs 20.00 (some says thats bcoz of the budget) At this situation, Bharathi Airtel (India's #1) which handles 50 million mobile accounts in India, annonced that they will commence business in Sri Lanka from March 2008. It has already registered the business in Sri Lanka under the name "Airtel Lanka (Pvt) Ltd" as a BOI Project. And also They have reserved the web doamin www.airtel.com.lk under thier company. So we can expect them soon. According to the rumors, Airtel is going to slash the Sri Lankan mobile market with their cheap call charges. As we have seen in the history, several new operators came to this industy such as HUTCH, Tigo etc but still, Dialog GSM is the number one. (Just to mention, I too use a Dialog and I'm satisfied with their service) But, Will they be able to keep their position after the arrival of India's Number one Airtel? Comments plz...

Well I have another issue.. There are color standards for 90, 95 and diesel rite? eg: Yellow=90 Octane petrol / Red= 95 Octane Petrol and Dark Blue = Diesel.. I just noticed that on the back of my petrol lid its RED color.. does that say that, I should pump 95 octane? or is it just a colour? I dont have any idea what the user manual says as I dont have a manual, anyway I use a FB14. comments plz...

u are welcome machang.. actly its like this. full light model is bit older. if the YOM is 1997, it should be a seperate light model which is better. Now days diesel is much better for your pocket (though its bit noisy) and there is a Rs 1 / 1.5 lacks difference between same petrol and diesel models (only on SL market) If you take a FB14, first thing you shoud check is whether its a Super saloon, Ex saloon or a FE. FE is the basic model which you DONT have Power shutters, power mirrors, air bags, etc. u get only basic options such as A/C, P/S. on Ex Saloon and super saloon u get some slight changes on dashboard, (eg: on supersaloon u GET the RPM meter) and the other major difference is, you get the power antena ONLY on super saloon. basically, super saloon is better than the ex saloon. apart frm tht ground clearence problem, there is another comman problem in FB14... the headlights get yelloish. thts not a big deal yeah. other than that check the body condition.. whether its corrotion free. bodyshape should be neat and accident free. check whether it got alloywheels which will make a big difference on the car value. and other extras such as cd-players, security systems etc will be advantages. If u bought a used car, always remember to check the battery and tyres and make sure they are in good condition. Cheers machang hope you will find a good car..

I think FB14 is worse than N16 in ground clearence issue so yeah i too think it will be a problem for you. I use a FB14. yep true the ground clearence is low. i think you are talking about a manual corsa right? even the manual fb14 can work upto 11-12 if it is well tuned and the sensor n all are perfect (as the company says) On my car, i dont find any major issue other than that ground clearence scenario. You can find a well maintained FB14 for arnd 1.2 - 1.3mil bux. (remember manual works more on fuel) If you take Corolla and Sunny, for sure corolla leads. But When it comes for a Corsa you should think twice. regards,

bychance if u live around Battaramulla area, there is a good place infront of waters edge.. (not exactly infront of,, js go a lil bit towards the town then u will find a garage.. I did cut n polish my FB14 and it came out well. it will cost you around 2000-3000 bux i guess.

hornet i personally thinks that 1.3 mil bux is too much for a 302- corsa.. if u can go for a FB14, you will have a better 2nd hand market than the corsa.. plus, if u search on the market u will be able to go for a ENG num plated fb14 for that price for sure. regards,
