  1. Replace both the Alternator and battery. Old batteries kill alternators.
  2. This is built on the chassis of a L200. we all know how good they are, And have been driven to distruction here. Honestly i'd get a used Montero with dual A/c for your budget.
  3. Cool choice of car if you're prepared to spend,..Look for a 6 cyl 520 or 525i manual.. .I'd go for upated 90's model with the newer engine. Good luck finding one ! + You'll need the services of a speciaist mech/garage o maintain your pride and joy. Your budget will have to purchase,repair,upgrade and insure your ride.
  4. +Replace the air filter with a good branded one. Yes,the engine is Diesel. Drive it sensibly.You are not driving the Starship Enterprise so do not engage warp drive on the first gear. It's a car. Since you don't have a turbo, let the rev's climb up on a rate more suited to the car. IT is possible that some one has increased the fuel delivary rate ffrom the fuel pump.` Get your car checked by a qualified diesel expert for injector opening pressure etc.Unfortunately, the other checks / adjustments cannot be done by the user. Try not to engage in the smoke experiments as the law is tough on those who smoke no matter what the colour is.
  5. The vehicle is made in this mod range with a 2000cc 4cyl and 2700cc v6 engines , .The 3c engine is a SL conversion.Diesel engines offerd in EU. So you 'll be getting a converted Diesel when you get one. Its a comfy vehicle . Some with dual A/c. I'd think twice pretty much in the same line of thinking like you when it comes to the next buyer when it comes to resale. some don't mind it though. When it comes to build quality, don't look for Jap quality in a Korean.

  8. Looks like you have got some work/mods on your ignition system,.. The coil is from a FFB12.
  9. You don't have to use 95oct on your car.
  10. The engine looks like it has breaker type ignition,..get it checked for wear and changed if needed with the condensor the timing checked. ( looks massively advanced ) how is the fuel efficiency? You have a maintenance free battery, but keep it clean ( free from dust) Good thing you have a coolant expansion bottle.

Might I recommend that his majesty purchase 155./80/R13 instead,..If your car doesnt have power steering Having used nankang , I can say that it gives a good mix of relatively affordable cost and long tread life.The higher aspect ratio will give you the best efficiency /comfort. And I too would stick clear of Ch tyres irrespective of the cost benifit.

Your statement says what to do, just do it. use one type of fluid throughout the life of your car and manke it a good one as you'll prob , need to top up inbetween changes for br pad changes etc. Brake fluiid absorbs moisture from the air and therefore looses efficiency of brakes and must be changed periodically for safety.
  20. Your symptoms indicate to a possible breached head gasket.Stop driving it and get a pro to look at it. And the expansion tank should not be filled to the brim.
