  1. If the product's technology does not suit the operating conditions, it 's just a matter of time till it fails.no matter how it's maintained . But if we exploit/abuse the thing , it'll reach it's end of usable life faster.
  2. Case in point toyota sucks Member Members 478 posts Gender:Male Location:Toyota City Posted 04 August 2011 - 08:05 AM The 110's are giving a lot of transmission problems these days haven't they there are 2 topics here about them I just guess they r going out of their usable life time as they r about 15yrs old and have 170 000 km or more on the clock (probably as they are not with digital meters they will be changed from 270 000km to this figure) so I'd like to tell the idiots who bought these for about 2mill, they can go for a considerably new and low millage n16 lancer for a similar price without buying those rust buckets which r on the edge of the cliff
  3. yo've got your knick's in a twist.carefully go through the threads! This is why most major car brands (esp Jap) did not offer auto'boxes in here vehicles to SL! The idea behind the short service interval is to keep the system running for as long as possible. And many Hyundai's have had tras issues here(Hyundai own Kia)
  4. http://forum.autolanka.com/topic/14009-transmission-delay-in-auto-gear/ This is why we don't have a car industry. We don't even know how to maintain a car!
  5. The idea behind the recommendations this side of reocting this guy in Nuwara-Eliya was to keep his toy operational. We are not in-charge or responsible for 1.The near melting day time temperatures. 2.Export Quality traffic-jams 3or the slow driving and dusty operating conditions our country.
  6. Just look at the posts of Failures of Autoboxes. The only preventative maintenance is ATF& strainer change.
  7. What are you waiting for ? till the Gears stop shifting?
  8. Nice pics , Thanks. You have a conventional coil with B resister ( it's there to aid starting) You have an aged after-market wire set - Replace Need to know what the clearance of the points are when it's off ( or you risk over heating the coil) The location of the dissy will make it difficult. so use a mirror get a new air filter You're about to do your first tune up! Good luck,... TT

SWEDISH TRADING CO. LTD. Address: Senanayake Building, 2, Castle Lane, Colombo 4. TP: 0112 508 298/9 They had a workshop just after Dehiwala on the Galle-road. Good luck. !\
  11. And don't tell us the plug wires are old as the hills Replace them!
  12. This car has only one coil. I'm suspecting this prob is either fuel or heat related. on the subject of hiccups, You might want to check the c.b points if you have em.+
  13. The power steering pump is a possible candidate or the release bearing (clutch)? Or the timing kit bearings,+ drive belt tension er possible.
  14. Ever tried reversing with a trailer? If you answered yes, what vehicle do you intend to pull the trailer with? Does it have a tow-hitch?' hvaent seen any for sale. And most of them are custom-built. As there are no standards for trailers/electrical systems here, you might end up building one.

Ah,you my friend are graduating from economy class to Business class. congrats mate, If yo think like an accountant, you're not ready for one. Be prepared for continental headaches with a/c's as an evaporator change is a dash out job.
  16. Sad to read your dilemma of the fried alternator. In examining your prob in detail, it would be wise to replace the entire unit. It is advisable to look into the possible cause and address it in order to avoid repeating of the same. Kindly ref. previous posts on flood damage and engine washing. The possibility of the alternator killing the entire electrical system exists and takes mili-seconds if the fuses dont zappout first.
  17. Yes, Water and electronics never mixed,.. .Anyone washing a modern car's engine bay would be asking for trouble. It's just a matter of time.
  18. There might be air in the cooling system. completely re bleed the engine and do a pressure test on it. if there's a leak, it will show. If the heater was removed, it must be bleeded after refitting. Let the engine cool over night, start the engine next morning, turn onthe heater to Max with the engine idling and check and add coolant to the max point till full. park the car under a few sheets of old news paper and leave it over night to check for any leaking/drips TT.
  19. Couldnt've said it better plus to clean the pcv & idle c v. I think our friend is waiting till the car stalls while in gear
  20. The recently replaced seals leaking may be due to 1.improper installing of the new seals. 2.damaged rack.
  21. .Pls upload some pics of the engine bay.
  22. .Hello and welcome. Search for Lexus ES300. It's the same car.
