That looks great! Are you using these?
-
Thank you! Thanks.
-
No. You have good reasoning to think so through the course of events. True, it has only been a week since I posted the car on AL. I didn't think that I will be able to get accepted to go back either, as there were some serious issues with the particular college I wanted to go to. So was planning on staying. Got lucky with another college, and worked out at the last moment. I agree, buying a car at a time like this was not the best decision I made! So will face the consequences. Always wanted a Beetle to work on, simply couldn't resist seeing this one. Making it public, saying how good it is and misusing AL was not my intention. AL and friends are too good to be treated in such a way. But, now I think the damage is done.

Yeap, posted it for sale. I will have to leave SL again for higher studies. So, if I get a super deal might sell it, otherwise will keep it.

Thank you! Thanks. Yeah, I checked a lot of doctor owned car's before finding this one. There seems to be a lot of doctors who like Beetles :-) Thanks. I will pass on that one though! :-) Thanks. Yeah, that's the plan, once I clear out the mechanical problems off the table. Thank you. Bought this one off of a neighbor who lives close to Marawila. I am thinking of finding a retro looking stereo with those meters that came stock on old cars. Thanks. Your's looks very familiar! was this on sale on some website? Thanks. Yeah, dash is super simple on these cars! Absolutely love it. Mine has a RPM gauge fixed by someone else though! Thank you! Thanks. Sure will do that!

Thank you. I will keep you guys posted! Thank you. Yeah, I need to find some good bumpers, they have are those Brazilian ones which I hear are prone to rust. I also don't like this color on a Beetle so will change to a different one later down the way. You are right, it came like that, with 3-4 layers of carpets. I was sure to check underneath! Thanks for your comment, I too am a big fan of the Z! Thanks. Will definitely msg him. Thanks. Actually the passenger side window beading is original, driver side is different. I am going to change all the fluids and do a complete tune-up and component inspection as the car sat on the same place for a long time. I have already cleaned the air cleaner (oil dip type indeed). Thanks again. Sure will do! Drove it for a good 100-150kms. No complaints. Thanks. Thank you. I hear you, will also go for a MINI one day, absolutely love those! They start off as low as 1.50 and can go all the way up to 8 or so depending on the condition/ rust/ number and age. Supra_Natural has a good post here on A/L covering everything you need to know about the VW, you might want to do a search. Thanks again! Thanks! Hope you find a decent bug here in SL, I would advice you to bring parts if possible, They are easy to find if you are in the UK or so. I know men, would set it off pretty nice.

So here goes, my long search for an unmolested ride has come to an end, after discussing with enthusiasts, finally bought a VW Beetle! The price was right, and drove pretty nice so, couldn't pass on. pros: car's straight, has minimal putty, all metal. Body/ floor-boards have some rust but not that serious. Runs good, almost everything that came stock with the car are functional and are there. cons: not happy with the poorly done baby blue color paint job (stock factory color btw), condition of front + rear bumpers, rear hubcaps and side steps. So will make the necessary replacements. Immediate Plans: needs fuel pump, distributor condenser platinum set and brake job. Have a tight budget on this one, so will fix the mechanical components first and will go for the appearance related fixtures. What I love most about the car is how it sounds! What Is The Preferred ( Default) Tyre Size For Fb 15
360_Cruiser replied to Dhanushkagunasinghe's topic in NISSAN
I think it's 175/70 R14. You can find that info on the sticker on your driver side door/ door jamb. -
Yeah, I believe what you guys are saying. Just wanted to clarify whether such a thing existed because, someone had once told me that there were two models.

Guys, about the LN 109. Are there 2 types of pickups with suspension and leaf-springs in the rear?
-
Well, I have to say that there was a brake issue on our 107 but not in the current 109. I always thought that it was because it had 16", wide mud tires. I could be wrong though. And the previous owner had lifted it so, maybe the adjusted the ride height, as have mentioned by Iroshana could have had something to do with it.

Muditha420, yeah I tried everywhere in Nugegoda + Wijerama etc.. and I have already found a shell/ grille, got it from Kurunegala. I'm Having a hard time finding a front Bumper and Roollbar though. Yeah, have to agree about body parts, the hardest body part would be the rear tailgate/ door. Other than that it's a very enjoyable + loyal vehicle Hope you enjoy the said Hilux Convoy!
-
Congratulations on your buy!! Does your's have the Chrome or grayish Rollbar? Superb vehicles them pickups We used to have a LN107, was stupid and sold it. So now have a LN109 and totally love it. As of spare parts, from my experience, mechanical/ electrical parts are readily available. But, it can be a little bit hard to find body/ appearance related parts. For example, I have been trying so hard to find (second hand of course) a front Bumper, rear Rollbar, 107 Grille, genuine Tail-lamps and some other misc/ appearance related parts, as mine has a different face off of a Hilux Surf. So far I have only been able to find a LN107 grille. They have plenty of Hilux-Surf/ TOYOTA 4Runner bumpers, grills etc.. and they are compatible. I have replaced my dashboard and front doors using parts off of a Toyota SURF too. Just thought of sharing

I'm curious to know if there are any Morris Minor owners/ fans/ restorers on AL? If so would love to see some pics and, to know about any other related info that you may wish to share. I'm also in the lookout for a Minor to start up with a restoration project. So would like some inspiration .

I like what you have planned for this car. Good luck! I would try to keep it as stock as possible but, found this and thought it might inspire you, check out the pics of the matte black car: http://www.pakwheels.com/forums/vehicles-bikes/108518-1974-nissan-sunny-london-model-sale-3

IMO that's a good deal for a N16. Might want to do a check up. We used to own one that came straight off the showroom with the 1300 and, I have to say it was noticeably underpowered. And you'd expect it to be fuel efficient but, that was not the case. That's just what I think, maybe it was my driving style and etc...

Which Is More Safer, Maruti 800 Or Susuki Every (660 Cc)?
360_Cruiser replied to esandun's topic in General Automotive
If I were you, out of the 2 choices, I'd go with the Maruti. Given that there's more metal and what not between you and a hypothetical front end collision. But this doesn't hold if it were a side impact. I doubt it whether older Every's came standard with airbags? -
Cleaning The Iac Valve And A Basic Engine Cleanup
360_Cruiser replied to jdnet's topic in DIY (Do-It-Yourself)
Excellent write up This is a simple yet gr8 DIY. I did this on my Accord sometime back and it made the car run/idle smooth. It also took care of an erratic idling problem that the car use to have on cold starts. -

Wishbone found in Calcutta poop pudding can make nice pulpy things tend to dilute with Dr.Mervyn's theory of Sylvi's experience of Samurdhi 50-years washing vehicles from junkyards to imported horses carcass. VTEC kicked in yo! Who the hell pissed unkel harshansenadhir off using diluted brasso that totally ruined his injectors in his chinese Buddy truck which used to break down all the time.
