  1. You politely ask the seller why the ABS light doesnt light up, and if he says that it's due to a faulty bulb, you can tell him you would like to test the ABS during the test drive. And give him a heads up before slamming on the brakes. I don't think a honest/decent seller would mind.
  2. I guess we have our fair share share of askholes here.
  3. Dude you dont need to leave skid marks to test the ABS. Just drive on some gravel and hit the brakes hard.. you should feel the ABS kick in.
  4. Yep, I agree with VWvortex. These con-artists are a step ahead of the law most of the time, so if you DO see a something shady you should step away at that very moment. And it's not just a uninformed few who fall pray. There's even lawyers, doctors and other intelligent professionals who do their due diligence, but still end up having bought a illegal vehicle.
  5. The reason all the dashboard bulbs come on at startup is for you to know that the bulbs work. So if during travel the ABS light is off you know it's because everything is working OK and not because the bulb is burnt. So my first guess would be to replace the bulb.
  6. Machang you've been here a while to know that we encourage people to search and read existing threads instead of opening new threads for everything. The GP has been discussed before.. so don't be lazy.. do a search next time... You can read this thread and continue the discussion in one of the existing threads... http://forum.autolanka.com/topic/15562-fiat-punto-20072008/ VVTi's car. http://forum.autolanka.com/topic/8400-our-new-baby-fiat-grande-punto/
  7. And to add on to what crosswind says, the person with the illegal vehicle will get in trouble for tampering with a chassis number, and the person with the original vehicle (which the CR belonged to) will get in trouble for running a vehicle without a CR.. There's no winners in that transactions.. and the person who sold the said old vehicle and new vehicle will disappear with the money. You cant summarize everything on this kind of fraud as all vehicles are not tampered with in the same way... But in short if a vehicle's body looks too new for the reg number be very careful.. Everything else you just gotta be street smart and play by ear to spot a fake.
  8. oops... my bad; never crossed my mind that it could be interpreted as D.I.D. Thanks Supra for the clarification
  9. My initial guess is that your might have accidentally gotten water into the petrol tank (or maybe even through the air cleaner) and after the petrol in the lines was used up it sucked in the water and died. When you say it couldnt start back do you mean the starter motor cranks but engine cant fire on its own, or does the starter motor itself not crank?
  10. yuk yuk yuk yuk yuk!!!!!!
  11. Honestly you might want to get all the electrics and stuff sorted out before focusing on where to wash/polish the vehicle. And how bad could the glasses be? Maybe you could share a photo? There are lots of glass polishing liquids and compounds you can buy and use yourself. Search the forum (or the internet) for reviews. It will save you some money, but you'll have to put in your own labour.
  12. Since its an engine that DID come on this model, the conversion itself might not be the primary concern. But there's a lot of other aspects of a vehicle besides just the engine. So you should take a trusted and knowledgeable friend/mechanic to see the vehicle. And don't get upset or cry that you're not getting all the information you want... You can't come here with just the price-tag of the vehicle and expect 'expert' advice. When you family doctor says that there's an irregularity in your heart-beat and you should get an specialist-expert opinion, you don't just call a cardiologist and say "doctor my heard rate is 88bpm.. what's wrong with me?" right? same principle.
  13. i believe you're right. My apologies.
  14. The vehile in your post isn't the one in the video.
  15. I thought it was the 1st gen Pajero.
  16. Don't be an a$$hole and take this thread OT when there a thread dedicated to the Korando. It's no longer "slightly OT". http://forum.autolanka.com/topic/13267-any-korando-user/
  17. Congrats on the purchase. Please go through the below search result to get an idea of your vehicle https://www.google.com.sg/search?q=site%3Aautolanka.com+kyron&oq=site%3Aautolanka.com+kyron&aqs=chrome..69i57j69i58.8717j0j7&sourceid=chrome&espv=210&es_sm=93&ie=UTF-8 Most of your issues sound like model specific stuff. So you're better off getting the agent to settle everything for you cos the parts would be model specific. You might as well get the agent to dot he cut and polish.
  18. Yes, that's the lag i'm talking about editr: It's not necessarily a minute, but something in the 5-10sec range on mine.
  19. From what I have seen, I think the projector (HID) lights have a slight lag coming on. So that means flashing headlights might not be possible/practical. In which case wouldnt it make more sense to keep your high beam as regular bulbs?
  20. Well said indeed crosswind!! And aon a slight OT note, it reminds me of that fellow who came here looking to get advice on buying/selling cars. We told him to do an honest decent job by taking an effort to improve the car and he didnt even have the decency or courtesy to follow up with a thank you.
  21. Let me rebut you with one simple point.... "Average" of what? All Corollas? Or all Corolla 121s? Or all Corolla 121s with YOM 2003 ? Or all Corolla 121s with YOM 2003 and X-grade? The segregation is endless.
  22. Machang do you realize you're going away from the buyer's requirements and asking him to get a car that you like?

I was gonna ask the same thing! I have been out of touch with the local car circles, and thought this might be some new car sale that's come up
  24. ohhh interesting!!! In a way this feels like an old-aunty-gathering.. Did you know... so and so sold his car to so's father... and i heard that was is carrying on with this one...
  25. I was also quite baffled at the fact that a lot of people just buy/sell rims based on just the stud-count and the diameter alone while completely ignoring the radius that the studs form and the radius of the studs themselves. But I recall hooligan mentioning the actual terminology for this in another thread.
