This is the most critical thing that needs testing Brake disks, pads, suspension etc can all be tested by first driving slow and gradually increasing the force/stress on it. But with an airbag (and its related trigger mechanisms), its pretty much a black or white answer. There's no gray zone for testing if it works. So if you're gonna retrofit something onto your car and hope it saves your life when it really matter you might as well .spend on the real deal. And if one is gonna count rupees and cents, may I bring out another point. The only time you'll 'use' the airbag is in the event of a major accident. And if the accident was serious enough to deploy the airbag, don't you think the price difference between a new airbag and a used one would be pretty insignificant compared to the rest of the accident repair? And who knows, the extra $$$ you spend on the new airbag could be saved in medical bills or funeral expenses.

OK this sounds a bit silly, but isnt the jeep canvas water proof already? As for the glasses this might not help cos the wiper movements will scratch it right off; The side windows will have the same issue as the beading will scrape off the thin film. Why don't you just use something like rainX which is meant for glass?

Spraying that stuff is an art just like any other type of spray painting. The guys doing it on the adverts would have done it 100s of times before knowing the exact way of doing it. So don't go spraying something too expensive in your first try. Out of curiosity, what do you plan to use this on?

A couple of friends have tried similar items, i dont remember all thier names, but i remember one was neverwet. Yes, it works as a hydrophorbic surface. They used it on their motorcycle boots and one even dared to use it on his phone. They DO work as they claim, but they arent very durable. It wears out fast. On a riding shoes, the area that contacts with the gear was the first to wear out. Then the rest starts to peel off when the boot flexes with movement. But worst part is that it isnt 100% transparent. So it leave a foggy/white layer, which is a bug turn off for me.

How do you plan to check if it works? If it doesn't; you might as well buy a pillow case and stuff it into your steering wheel.

Is that who I think it is? And shouldnt this be in post-whore? -
I dont mean to be so blunt, but I think you would get a lot more feedback on your photography if you joined a photography forum/group. Expecting indepth advice on improving photography from Autolanka is as good as asking people on PhotoLanka to diagnose a rattling sound on your car. See the work of some photographers out there see who's work that really resonates with your interest and follow them. If possible get to know them personally and build up a relationship with them. That's how most of us did it. Getting constructive criticism from such individuals is a lot more important and useful than getting likes from people who know jack-shit about photography. All the best:

Nissan March Beetle 1000 Cc Or 1300 Cc
Watchman replied to chanakaauto's topic in General Automotive
Hi this has been discussed before, so you can refer to this: http://forum.autolanka.com/topic/732-fuel-eficiency-march-ak-12/ And in the future please do a search and continue on an existing thread rather than open a redundant new thread. Cheers! http://forum.autolanka.com/topic/15808-how-to-search-on-autolanka/ -
You're certainly late for the party. In fact there are quite a few photography fans here. And its a topic that has been discussed in detail many times before.

If you searched you would have found other tyre threads right? in which case the recomended practice would be to ask your question there. Now thanks to you the information on tyres is scattered even more on the forum.

Ohh. Good catch. It never occurred to me. Security reasons? pfftt! Who would want to kill that useless fart rocketboy. It doesn't justify running a vehicle with fake plates. Someone should find a picture of the said S class and compare it against the RR and throw it to the media.
-
Why do you think the plates are fake?
-
Did you try turning it off and on again? j/k You really should provide more details if you want any useful advice/feedback.

So is the other ship in the background. There isn't exactly an automated production line that throws out cruise-liners

Be glad that we don't have that thing in Sri Lanka. I've seen that in Singapore and Malaysia; and not one of them is driven by a sensible guy! All of them just love to put the top down and play some rap music for all road users to hear... And they don't forget to rev the shit out of that puny little engine.. but only on 1st/2nd gear cos any higher gear would mean the car goes too fast for people to notice the ultra-cool dude driving it

you are awfully cocky aren't you? #1 I don't own/run autolanka. So if you have a problem with the forum's search direct it to the admins. If you're still unhappy with it you'll get full refund of your forum membership fee #2 I have no idea how google / crawlers / tags work, but as a fellow user i know that search method works, which is why I directed you to it previously. If you don't wanna use it out of stubbornness that's totally upto you. I don't loose anything just because you wish to remain an immature little retard. #3 Actually I DO relay on Google to search autolanka. And I've not been let down. #4 I think you're speaking out of you a$$ here, and sorry I dont speak a$$ language, so you might wanna repeat it in proper english. #5 It's not about the 45kb. It's about helping each other (specially new members) by encouraging a good practice of keeping all relevant information consolidated. -

The OP's just a worthless troll. No point trying to help him. @rumesh: I showed him how to do a search twice before. But looks like the stupidity they get from their genes are too powerful to be countered with intelligence and common sense -
Thanks for agreeing

The Check Engine Sign (Malfunction Indicator Lamp)
Watchman replied to chmzzy's topic in General Automotive
Three days is a long gap for a washing/cleaning related thing to come up. Don't presume that it's the indicator itself that is malfunctioning. It could be something genuinely wrong too. One thing you could do is take it to the agent or a mechanic and get them to check the engine. Basically, plug in the car to a computer and run a diagnostic.- 12 replies

Yep you can say that again. It looks easy in these demo videos, but it certainly isnt. I've bee n playing around this stuff for a while on my bikes. Working with curved surfaces is certainly a b!tch! And I have seen enough cars with messed up sticker jobs with either ripples or air bubbles dead in the middle of a body pannel. Unless I have a special colour need I prefer the carbon fiber pattern. There's quite a few types. They call it 2D, 3D and 4D. 2D is a black vinyl with a carbon fiber like pattern printed on it. Looks very cheap. Then came 3D where there vinyl was a thicker material and the mesh pattern was embossed into it. It has a matt finish so when it gets dirty its dam hard to clean. The newest version is 4D which is pretty much 3D but with smoother ridges so not much durt collection, and the sticky side is also grooved. It makes taking air bubbles easier. Recently got myself a 24"x60" sheet from china and did my motorcycle sideboards. 4D is a bit more expensive, but looks really nice if u want a more glossy effect (and it makes the job easier too). http://i1365.photobucket.com/albums/r754/autolanka/20131227_235705_zpskdnboryv.jpg http://i1365.photobucket.com/albums/r754/autolanka/20131227_235653_zpsbgwlijjy.jpg

The best is the vapor trail-tech, it captures a lot of different stuff like speedo, tacho, odo, trip, temp, max speed/rpm/temp. But it's digital, so clearly it will look out of place on a hawk. You can get something like this which would maintain a consistent look on your bike.
