hey guys my firend is going to buy himself a VW golf 2006 model or a brand new 2008 model due to the introduction of the 2009 medel the 2008 has gone low in market value and thankz to AL i have become a good advisor to the community on car spec's and this dood came out to me in need of help so any one owns a VW golf over here specially a GTi version if so please let me know the pros and cons of a VW golf cos it will be a great help for my friend who has no idea on cars .... the VW scirocco is not a bad option to think about also but lets come to that after talking abt the golf ...

thankz mate .... love to hear what all of you think ..cos people like you and me are the guys who are interested in a car show and to keep these people hooked to there seats with a low budget is the trick in this trade .... screen writing and storyboarding will be done by a professional lot but as for all of us we need some good ideas to work on so ....thankz again mate lets see how things turn out cos i don't really want to see my 1st show become a flop .... so keep the good ideas flowing and i'll keep you all posted on the logo and the name of the show if it ever makes it out from the drawing board to the big screen ...

after looking into all your comments ppl let me tell what i had in mind ... 1. the total program of 1hr will be spanning around one car per week and how it will drive along the countryside which it suits the most and will be covered using the most advance film equipment in the market 2. the host will be a well known racing figure in the local or may be in the international racing field who will be telling whats really under the hood and how to make a normal car to a monster and some driving tips ... 3. the car dealers will get a tap in the back and some bad parts about some cars will be waved off due to the sensitiveness in the market 4. local police and hospital emergency personal will be interviewed in his location as a few tips would be given out on how to drive safely and decently 5. this part i really like ..... i stole it from auto vision .. love to put a mechanic at the show in a weekly basis to explain the problems the general public face and to make the program more interactive for the public 6. goodies time ..... try to talk a sponsor for a free service to the winner who answers the weekly question. equipment and money won't be a big problem cos we won't be doing this in SL ..... and there's no problem of bringing down hot rides to the show cos a lot of ppl are willing to bring there hot rides for a spin in front of the camera .. so if theres any bright idea please do let me know cos guess i will be the production head of this OPP....

people .... imagine you get a chance to do your own tv show on automobiles (bikes,boats & cars) what would you guys show and talk about in the program .... what will be the typical layout of the program you would think & which is practial and more effective on attracting the croud (local)... what would you guys love to see in a perfect automotive Tv show so shoot your ideas .....

i had my glory days under the spot light mate ..... gihan what are you thinking building a EG8 killer .... remember the good old civic's ban ...damn those were good ... by the way sasha is the man for the job kool but don't fall in love with his starlet GT ..thats some car vvti ... the pink one asanka made it some time back in 2004 out of the apple green civic which got crashed late back in 2002-2003 asankas work was really good and the ones he moded were pretty decent and fast as i can remember the last time i saw it with some guys when i came down to SL ..totally riced ... personal advice don't go all the way on modding a EG8 to a monster cos if you collect all the money you pumped in that car in the period of time you owned it you can buy a decent subaru impreza and make a STI out of it ... or a lancer to a EVO .... if i were you i will go for the legacy with a 2.0L engine and stick with it for a while until i get a extra buck for the mod's you can get alot of advice from shark .... if he is around

in a life filled with broken bones and missing teeth and few times slightly escaping death on the freeway and in SL i have alot of accidents on 2weels 3 weels and 4 but except the accidents i had with my pushbike the first major accident on weels was before O/L i never had lisence and our old L300 was at home after getting a new paint job with out any windscreen or shutters and i manage to pamper my mum to give me the keys so i can go and bring bread for the family from the local shop i went as fast as i can to the shop and was showing off with some weelspin when got the loaf of bread and was driving like a total nutcase cos there were no traffic and those days our area ws not that crouded with traffic it was just one big old sleepy town to try the van to the max i took it to a smaller road i beleave me i was totally at it .... and suddenlly out of no where it started raining and to escape it i was putting the peddle to the metel when i was really close to my house i saw few kids playing cricket on the road and they were just about to stop the game cos of rain and out of no where one kid around 10 years old jumped to the middle of the road with a tennis ball and he was afraid and here i was rolling down this thin road at a breath taking speed i tried to aviod the boy by taking the right corner of the road but the kid jumped to the right so i took the left corner and the kid followed and finally it was really close and i thought of hitting the brakes and i was inthe middle of the road and the kid was dirrectly infront of me handbrakes footbrakes were not enough to stop my monster and with alot of tyre screams it went and hit the boy head on ....luckyly he hit the crash bar in the van and i found him in a hedge with his head bleeding inever knew what to do and i took him to the dispencary close to my house ..the wounds were serious and we had to take him to the hospital .. on the way i told the kid not to tell i mead the accident and that i just came along and saw what happend and brought you to the hospital and the kid said all this to the word and i escaped without any police trouble ... but we had to pay the kid for 1 month or so for all his expences including private tution ..... and me getting a vehicle bann for life ....

ok no need to go into agreements on CIVICs guys some like it some don't ...what to do the world is like that and taste differs.. loved every single bit of time i had with my EG8 though where were no mod's done to it ... it was fast and was like high school love ... where u can easily crash and burn ACE never saw a White one brother ... but if you guys recommend i'll go for even a bullock cart cos i kw i'm in good hands

ace if your talking abt the black EG8 up for sale in Al add's ... damn thats a mouth waterin EG8 & suddenly i had the idea to come down and buy that and to drive it all day looks like it's not riced and was owned by a genuine lover for honda ..it's sad to see such a good car ending up in the hands of a killer ricer ... if my friend is really interested i guess it's a good deal for your money the owner has welspend his money on the car and has alot of tasty mod's guess u don't need to do a thing on it ...(if you really want u can repaint it with a cool body kit)

though theres alot of hype about the veron personally i don't like it much .... would love to see and drive a zonda on the other hand ...

Its getting difficult to keep track of sarcasm vs reality on this thread for sure mate .... alot took it wrong including you ...... anyhow don't think dumin## would do a great job with a exterior mod ..have seen his work and it looks like a big block of fyber fitted to your car though for lembo doors and body converting the guy is ok cos he is in the industry for a long time but i've seen some good mod's done by alot of other good ppl around dehiwala area ..... and for interior theres a good guy around pelawatha area .... and for tuneups and other stuff we have our local doods racers edge at ja-ela and ZAkie at nugegoda and another guy at malabe who's also good .... for mufflers theres a dood in baddgana kotte ...who owns a blue color starlet GT for sound systems you can always try out kirulapone area and delkada area .....for good set of rims surely u have to try your luck at dehiwala hill street ... guess i'm not wrong on the places please do correct me if i'm wrong and about the prices i have no idea machang but at least you would need 1mil to do all what you want ..... i tihnk if i'm not mistaken i've seen a EK coupe around maharagama area once a black one .....cannot really remember was it a EK or a EG cos we were in such a hurry to buy some booze before the bar closed we never followed up on it .. guess for a good 1.5-2mil mark machang u gan go for a subaru and do some crazy mod's on it and theres the posibility of making it perform better too and as jadey said cynos is a good option too ..saw a few on AL adds guess on some theres nothing to be done cos the doods who owned it had the same mindset as yours mate .... a personal advice machang alot of Eg8 owers recently has given a very bad name to the comunity with there rice mobiles by making a lot of serious accidents involving innocent ppl and getting alot of unwanted interest from the police ... so as a die hard honda fan and a petrolhead i don't mind ppl loving honda and moding it infact i encourage them to do so but ending up like a total moron behind the weel gives alot the impression that all honda drivers are like that and all petrolheads are rule braking careless bunch of huligans who must be stoped or fined when ever found .. so even though you end up buying some serious hot set of weels please drive polite cos every one has a responcibility to keep the srilankan streets enjoyable for many more petrol head to come so best of luck on hunting .....
