  1. Did see the Corolla Review, does not do justice to the car. Plenty of expert reviews by US/Euro/Aussi though
  2. Few reviews in Japanese available, workarounds in the showrooms, at least another few weeks to get it to SL
  3. Most cost effective is to get it from USA, although they have the 2.0L sensor is the same. At agents it was around Rs. 18K some time back
  4. With damage to paint work unless it is the liquid
  5. This could be a upgrade for anyone driving a Vitz/ Swift nothing else For anyone driving a Allion/ Premio there is no Toyota for them to go as the next up would be Camry or Rav4 both are out of budget due to our tax structure, Majority go for the new CRV
  6. Vitz selection will be better, better resale, economical, ample parts and fairly a basic car, your budget will not allow you a newer one which got complex and hence issues. Vios - not the best of Toyota (Thailand ??) Aqua/ Prius in your budget will be old and most probably hacked to death with expensive repairs round the corner better avoid / resale will be another challenge 121 too old, avid unless you need additional room and the form factor of the sedan.
  7. CH-R has no respect for rear seat passengers If you are tall, you squat, no head or leg room If you are short (children) opening the door is a challenge/ once in it is like a dungeon dark and no idea of what is happening out side. Not for anyone with family or carry more than one passenger.
  8. May be this is the replacement for Rush, better utilitarian than the CH-R which is more of a urban cruiser Not the best looker but looks as it has all the pluses for success in SL Fully loaded ones are expensive, if you add additional kit price will be in excess of Rs. 6.0 Mn I would buy this over MGZ or Korean / Indian offerings which are only priced marginally lower and have less features

    VIC

Is this the small white piece of paper issued with CR They don't issue it anymore.
  10. You think Civic is bad, 2012-17 CRV had one behind the shell (usual place easy to reach) 2nd behind the bumper behind the fog light (bummer u need the take off the entire front replace). This is having ample place behind the shell where the 1st one is located.
  11. Common mistake glad to help ?
  12. It is pasted on the back side of the number plate. Remove and see ?
  13. I have not heard of any such rule, anyway cop should not get the feeling that you're not taking the car home. Do not deviate from the route. Warnings and lectures are usually given when the cop has no case. Better to have them at where the number should be, have another on the wind screen as if it rains or at speeds outside ones could come off (personal experience)
  14. For all the trouble and expenses, I'm thinking one would have been better off importing through the agent with warrenty
  15. Only luxury tax, import duty based on CC will remain Do not expect vehicle prices to come down
  16. Anything above approximately USD 20K, Yen 2.0 Mn. will attract this nothing to worry if your budget is Rs. 3-4 Mn.
  17. This is like comparing mango and pineapple as they are both in same price range. There are enough been discussed if you bother to search.
  18. I have done this several times with no issues. Got insurance with the chassis and engine number in the cover note, printouts pasted in the car. No issues either to Matara or in the highway, no one even bothered to check the documents. Last time cop at the Athurugiriya exit looked at my face but did not make a issue, only to realize when I went home that both printouts has got washed off.
  19. Vitz others are hybrid do not make sense
  20. Not vale for permit as it is a 1.0L duty only Rs. 2.0 Mn. your permit is worth more
  21. This will virtually reduce car imports, government will not get the revenue what they get now. Vehicle sellers will get rid of their unsold stock for panic buyers who think that they will newer be able to afford a car. When government realize the mistake they will revise the tax again to promote imports so the cycle begins again History repeating it self
  22. So they have closed the loop hole. Bugger ?
  23. You can drive provided you have insurance, any claim will be troublesome if you get in to an accident RMV site will give the documents needed, your clearing agent will hand over the documents with the car once the car is cleared.
