CRV faster, more economical, comfortable, handles better on road. Only thing going for Prado will be the off road ability, road presence and bit more usable 3rd row of seats Extra weight has nothing to with grounding CRV feels more planted and will roll less in corners having underpinnings of Civic

Audi Q7 2011 Vs Porsche Cayenne S Hybrid 2012
kush replied to Mazda6's question in Car Buying Information
The used models are the flagships of the Brands, especially the Audi and they came with all the bells and whistles. You may loose out on the auto brake, radar cruise etc. but they are not standard in some of the new ones as well. Also they have already taken quite a bit hit on depreciation loosing out more will be more or less in line with the new ones. Only issue is finding takers will be difficult for a 15 year old luxury barge. These cars were expensive new and were brought by people with money who generally take care of them, always get from the 1st owner with documented company maintained history. -
Seems like you have the clutch issue, get it fixed through a reputed place. May be any forum member could advise on a reliable place

Audi Q7 2011 Vs Porsche Cayenne S Hybrid 2012
kush replied to Mazda6's question in Car Buying Information
Issue with the Audi and the Porsche will be the age, although they are cheap now they were not and to put them right will be costly Porsche warranty can be extended up to 10 years at a cost as such some of them are still under warranty, known issues are hybrid system and air suspension Audi on the other hand will be more reliable as it is a ICE, and will have the advantage of being a 7 seater Brand new under the list will not give you the drive, comfort and the prestige of the former but will be more reliable as they are new and will be covered under warranty of respective agents depending on the vehicle 2-5 years if you opt to get them from the agent. Nothing drives like a Porsche -
Kia picanto 2018 vs Hyundai grand i10
kush replied to Chathu333's question in Car Buying Information
I went thought the same dilemma 1 1/2 years back, settled for the Kia despite having less rear leg space due to better build quality, made in Korea, 5 year warranty (i10 gave only 2 years) Fuel economy in Colombo traffic 9-10 kmpl -
Depend on the engine tune, some non turbo cars recommend 95/98 Depends on the availability of fuel in respective market, for instance UK spec Regular is 95, premium/super is 98 any car imported from UK will need 95 In Japan regular is 89 and premium is 96, majority of the mainstream JDMs are tuned to run on regular irrespective of turbo or not. Agent imported CRV require 92 octane as per the manual and the sticker in the fuel filer hatch, it is turbo charged

High pressure washing of engine bay ok or not?
kush replied to amsandun's topic in General Automotive
why do you want to wash the engine bay, get a blower and blow away the dust and wipe with a moist cloth if you are obsessed with having a clean engine bay. Other wise leave it alone. -
High pressure washing of engine bay ok or not?
kush replied to amsandun's topic in General Automotive
Even the agent do not wash the engine, they just wipe it with a cloath I newer take it to local stations to wash as even high pressure on the under carriage is not good it damages your rust proof Wash it at home use a "pol mudda" to wash under wheel arch if you have to If you are avoiding agent for the service stay with the vehicle do not let them use high pressure on the engine bay -
Japs are good for 92 unless it says premium in the filler cover inside

you could get a slightly used CRV for less than Rs. 8.0 Mn.

3 instances people known to me had issues with Euros 1. Battery needed replacement within two years was done under warranty saving over Rs. 400k 2. ECU got busted saving over Rs. 1.0 Mn. 3. Had a issue with a gray import agent registration + cost of repair over Rs. 700k (so much for the saving) If you're buying Euros warranty should be a major consideration not just 1-2 years get it extended even with a payment believe me it is worth. Personally i had a issue with a Jap few years back which was done under warranty apart from that Japs have been totally reliable for a Jap i would not worry so much on the warrenty

Do not accelerate fast especially at traffic lights, get a pair of ear plugs so that you will not get disturbed by honking of people behind who are in desperate need to get to places. Always use the center lane so you don't get distracted from fast moving traffic On highway stick to 60-70 kmph this is the range Allion/ Premio is most economical, you should be able to get over 20 kmpl alternatively get in to a bus or train which is more economical or a sell the car and get a Wagon R which has more leg space, has all the bells and whistles and will be 10-12 in the city 16-18 highway even if you beat the s**t our of the car.

Impact of Electric Vehicles on Household Budget
kush replied to OnashiR95's topic in Feedback & Suggestions
Did the survey, see my comments below in addition Issue is not the maintenance or charging cost, it is the cost of replacing the battery which has a shorter life span due to local conditions. Due to this there is high depreciation on electric vehicles. For instance in my case i have lost approximately Rs. 1.5 Mn for the last 3 years on the market value of a Nissan Leaf, if i had a normal car i could most probably recover the cost or may be the loss will be around Rs. 500k max. Battery has lost over 50% capacity and i will have to replace/ recondition which will cost around Rs. 500-800K Overall when you factor the above cost i would have been better off with the normal petrol car. By the way in Sri Lanka any additional electricity requirement for charging vehicles will come from thermal generation so environment effect is negligible unless you have provision to charge the vehicle with solar power. -

kush replied to trish_auto's topic in General Automotive
Mine is also faded and cracked A cop who went through my license told me to take care of it as if i were to get a new that will be with a expiry I got it laminated to prevent further cracking Hope and pray that they will not make it compulsory to get the new one -
Word of mouth, i pump from only one place unless i have to and to date no one has ever mentioned about bad fuel, mixing or any other jugglery that usually happens in these places.
-
Hope you are using 95, pump from a reputed place and see.

Sri Lanka has high humidity which accelerate contamination if break fluid. Many authorized agents recommend change every 2 years or 40,000 km
