This is a common issue with service stations they forget to tighten wheel nuts, replace fluid reservoir caps etc. Even at the agent better to open and check everything is in order. It takes only few seconds.

Picanto is not a fuel efficient car mine (2017) does 10-11 kmpl in Colombo driven in mix of heavy and moderate traffic conditions. Even after run in i don't expect to that to improve significantly.

Yes you have to maintain the car with the authorized service station. No idea about the charges was told it is average. It is a city car you get enough room in front, rears are better suited to children. boot sufficient for couple of cabin bags. Ride is comfortable for a small vehicle, absorbs road unevenness without much issues. Suspension noise minimal no bumps and thuds or thrown around when you go over rail crossings / sleeping policemen. Actually it feels much bigger car. Engine feels under powered in inclines, delays in shifting down makes things worse, at least the engine is eager. Did not want to rev hard as engine is not fully run in. High powered version would be more fun. Economy - initial 500 km. around 10.4 kmpl at a average speed of 20 kmph. trip computer was approximately 15% off.(it was indicating 8.4 L/100km which is 11.9 kmpl) -
Colombo people are much smarter they buy the same vehicle from another make for much lower price or better vehicles offered by other makes at lower price.

How do I remove mold(fungus) from car seats?
kush replied to flashmark's topic in General Automotive
Since it is fairly recent wiping with a wet cloth and letting it dry with doors open might work. If not use a reputed upholstery cleaner. -

You have to go for the highest grade available if you want ABS. Additionally you will get 15 inch alloys, split folding rear seat, steering audio controls, rear speakers and tweeters. Our regulators should be blamed for absence of ABS, they should have made this mandatory with air bags. Just got delivery of one will update with first impressions soon -
That is because they are too recent to have done high milage

you mean GP5 (Fit 2013 on wards) GP 1 was before 2013
-
I had a GP5 best i got was 23kmpl Southern Highway mostly on cruise control at 100 kmph Colombo average was around 14-16 kmpl

Toyota Allion/ Premio 2007-2010

Close friend of mine had one 10 yrs back (one of the Law Asia cars) had several electrical issues with power windows, climate control other wise car was reliable. was giving around 3-4 kmpl in Colombo and 7-10 on long drives. He had to get down used parts from UK to fix them as quotation from agent was over Rs. 600k to fix them. He was bit techy and could source the right parts. These cars are further 10 years old now be prepared to go through the pain

CRV, x-trail, rav 4 forget about the fuel economy Tuscon, Sportage diesel will not be reliable as above Montero sport (old version) Manual not very comfortable or fast
-
Patholada wetakoluda both are healthy and good for everything. Axio might be safer bet when it comes to reliability and resale
-
SUVs do not fall in to this category

Between Honda and Toyota agents my personal experience is Honda charges are reasonable for servicing. No idea about repair cost though.
-
Ended yesterday they have commenced distribution, should be back to normal by today 25th evening.
-
There are rumors that new x-trail hybrid has gearbox issues. In your case maintenance, second hand value does not come in to play which is two main considerations when selecting a new vehicle. I would suggest you rent one of each car may be for a weekend and see which one you like better and suites your requirement

Routine service at the Honda agents with oil, filter cost around Rs. 10-12K max would be Rs. 17-20K which i think is very reasonable compared to a Euro at the agent. However service frequency will be high compared to a Euro (5000km vs 8-10K)

IT is a CVT which needs special expensive oil most probably they would have used the wrong oil and my be ruined the box. EPS could give issues but you should be able to find a used for reasonable price. I would be concern on the gear box and will stay away if the service history is doubtful Gem if a car in fact one of the few i really enjoyed owning

Made in Thailand No JDM version / not sold in Japan so cant get down from Japan as used/ zero mileage LX specs in link is for US version, i was told that what is available in here is reasonably equipped Considering what people pay for Allion/ Premio (model introduced in 2007), CH-Rs (elevated hatch with very little room), Prius (Ugly duck) price does not seems unreasonable considering it is from agent with warranty.

Why do you want 4WD, spend the money on something that you would use daily. may be audio upgrade I have a RM2 that i have run over 35K only once i noticed AWD kicking in
-
May be he is asking too much, reduce the price by couple of 100K it will go

If it is going to be a daily runner or only transport better avoid. One of my friend have a Mondao of similar vintage and most of the time "kota uda" waiting for parts from UK Price seems to be little high considering small numbers If you are keen on a Euro there are better options at that price range which would be much easier to maintain Eg; 406, VW Passat
