from ur current setup u cant, but if ur engine bay alows, u can put a bigger altnator, they also come in differnt sizes and amps like batterries do..

no prbs.. when u have some money, do the rest bit by bit.. if u do it right and with good parts the car will last.. i am on my seventh year with it.. try to always replace with original parts when ever u can.. sorry for going OT guys...

my goodness.. anyway.. the handbrake is there mate... ,and u could have qucikly shifted to the park when the engine died... i have a feeling it was not the alternator that is doing this.. u need to check ur ECU, have a feeling it is something to do with that... when the engine die, does it compeletey go, o when u crank the key does the engine turn over but no start..

fuel consumption would be very high.. a complete trasplant is not gurenteed... as some parts may not be avalable... may i ask why u want to convert it to auto..

oh no.. sorry mate, as soon as i saw shock.. i stopped reading. didint realize teh boot lid part.. yes this is quite hard to find.. a lot of people drill a hole untill they can find the replacement.. even mine are gone now.. but since i dont use the boot much i have let it go.... but i think u should get it running first with the new thorttle body... then when u are feeling better u can hunt for boot shocks...

yes black gets very hot.. belive me i should know...Yellow is flashy.. RED is also ok i guess.. but brilliant white will give u comfort... my suggestion is as minace said go for only the original colors...;

well i only just saw this.... i am with the others here.. do not swap it to auto... i think kavinga knows the pain of having an auto astina... think he is considering swaping to manual..

thats funny.. i went there a couple of days back and i asked him.. he said he has it.. as i understand u need both front shocks with shock mounts right.. i had my mounts replaced sometime back.. just called him again.. he has teh shocks with the shock mounts for the front.. and the thorttle body is avalable in two weeks.. and engine is suppose to come...

well well.. in SL the first ride which was a family ride was toyota station waggaon. 12 SRI.. this was brought down from Aussie in 1983 by my paretents who were studying there.. guess import taxes were next to nothing then.. it was the most realible thing ever.. we went everywhere from kandy to matara in it.. u dont see that model here as it never came here straight.. then my fathers business made him by a lite ace van.. so we had two.. the van was good for a lot of things.. specially taking the no good ##### out on trips... but thats it, then again its a VAN.. what can u expect.. aborad owned the land cruser VX.,didnt like it.. not a big 4X4 fan... then of course my one and only ride the ASTINA... six years.. 350,000 KM's and still reving.. cant belive what this car has gone through.. gonna be very sad to let it go... plus everything that i have done to it now..eventually i wil have to let it go... it has to be the RX's for me in the future... and have this craving for a nissan 180SX or a 200SX... cant find them here though.. i am sure they have it here but its rare... so the best list: ASTINA Worse: VAN OK: Land crusiser VX
