If you are really concerned about the fuel - don't go for an uncomfortable cheap car like maruti. Why don't you try to get a diesel car? You can try for doctor sunny diesel. It's v.reliable car and does good fuel. I am sure it will be a much better ride than a 800cc maruti

you are correct . The "Quotes" are displayed in the latest opera mini without any problems. But I use opera mini 4.2.1 (coz it's light weight, fast and does a good job with rendering). For some reason the browser ignores the dark green borders. This results in only very light green text for quotes, and normal text in white... I guess I am in a unique situ here, only one using an old mobile browser . Since no one else complains, i guess most other browsers properly render the borders . So I guess I can move to the latter version of the browser...

Yeah, Pala is good in their work. The guys (especially the owner) seems to be knowing what he's really doing. But they are v.expensive. I had a problem with my head lights some time back. Basically, the head lights blew out v.frequently! I went to few places and they couldn't really figure out why. Then I went to Pala. The technician at Pala was also confused first, later the owner came and figured-out the problem. They managed to fix it by properly connecting few wires. Apparenly few wires had been incorrectly wired. They cleand my headlights and put two new bulbs wich cost Rs: 500 each. the total charge was 6500...

Axio is NOT a failed product. It is still new. It will replace the 121 in near future just like 121 replaced 110. I haven't driven an Axela, but I have driven an Axio. It's v.confortable and a smooth ride. I heard from a friend of mine that it's good on fuel too. Axio also is the clear winner in second hand market. Considering the number of Toyota spare part importers, maintenance will also not be a big problem Axela is obviously the more rare car. It beats the Axio by looks (that's my perception). Actually Axela is one of the finest looking cars on SL roads. Don't have much idea on maintenance though... However it lacks the fuel economy and the second hand market of Axio.

okay I have a small complain. I used to view this site with no problem via opera mini web browser. I guess many othr ppl too would be using opera, as it's the most popular browser for mobiles. The new look is rendered nicely in opera mini, except for the "quotes". There seem to be v.minor colour difference for quotes, but it can be hardly seen. This makes it quite difficult to read the posts... You guys might be able to do a tiny css change and fix this

Who Are The Worst Drivers In Sl Or Wherever You Are?
TharakaWi replied to Dominic's topic in General Automotive
Worse are private bus drivers - no doubt! - wel three wheel fellows are not far behind either. Private bus fellows fly like eagles - the moment see a waving hand (The hand could be of a person actually standing right in the middle between two bus stops) - the bus driver just stop the darn thing on the middle of the road!!! And the common belief prevail among these private bus drivers is "never drive in a straight line, always go zig zag in straight roads as fast as possible". Bus fellows think that their annoying horns and head lights act as sirens. -
How Is The Fuel Consumption In 2005 Allion , Auto?
TharakaWi replied to nadun kulasekara's topic in General Automotive
Hm, seems like AL has had more than just a face lift. Now we can vote for posts! That's a welcome addition Yep miss that thread already... Need it back -
What I liked abt AL as a website/forum most was, 1. It's v.simple. Can view in any browser 2. v.fast I hope these attributes are retained in the new site

My uncle had a freelander around 1.5-2 years back. A petrol one. It was giving him a whole loads of trouble. He even had to import few parts from UK, and keep the SUV in garage for weeks until the parts arrive.

I think it's okay for any person to say Axio, Allions are shit boxes, juke boxes wht not... But it's quite stupid to think that everybody else think the same way. People have different priorities. Different people have different view points, their own likings and dislikings. Some may want a fast car, some prefer 4 wheels, some prefer fashonable ones, some prefer fuel economical reliable cars. It's the individual preference. As for me, I honestly think Toyota's are v.reliable, fuel economical, comfortable cars that have good resale value. Spares are easy to come by. As for the new Allions and Axios - i think they are stylish and comes with fairly good options.

hm, A-Star? (around 1.6mil though)

Cannot see the statisctics sale menu item. Could u be more specific?

One of my good friends has the same Viva car, and I have gone in it few times. I guess the price of this has come down to 1.3 mil level., right? Considering other brand new options available for that price such as Alto, I'd say Viva is much better. He told me it does somewhre around 14kmpl. It's 660, but my frind had no complains abt it being undr powered. It's more comfortable whn compared to Alto. However, there are many second hand car options for that price range which could provide better comfort level. I guess u can try Starlet(97) , FB 14 or Toyota 110 (1996) for this price.

Nope don't see a reduction... Actually there seem to be an increase. I was planning to buy a Vios E grade 2004 two months back. They were going at 2.4 mil odd. Now sellers are asking 2.7-2.8 odd mil.. This new shell vios seller is also asking 2.9.. http://www.autolanka.com/ad.asp?ID=36733 Look at the 121 prices! now again back at 40

I guess it was "just" a rumor. I heard that now ppl hav started clearing vehicles...
-
Yep. lots of ppl I know are also reluctant to clear their vehicles... Very understandable from their side too. What if you clear your car, and few hrs later it reduces by 1 lakh. Most ppl put their hard-earned money, and they do feel a lost if it happens. The rumor I heard is that the gov is planning to decrease the 20% VAT to 5%. Not sure. Another person told me that only certain class of vehicles (low engine capacity) get a benifit of 10% reduction. They r all romors though
-
No Tax cut announced by the gov... Usually the gov circulars are issued on 1st of the month. Since there was no such issue, I guess this was a false-alarm
-
Whts ur source? Hasn't seen this any website. But i also heard the rumour tht there's gonna be a tax reduction from sep 1st.
-
To my knowledge most of above prices are not correct. Obviously we cannot find a Vios for less than 2mil. I guess u r lucky to find even at 2.2. Carina 212 english letters go above 2.1 as well. FB 15 obviously being sold at much higher prices, 2001 goes well above 17. A good condition Toyota 110 crystal light is also goin well over 17

Agree wit u 100%

She has used it for a bit more than 2 years. There had been no sensor problem.
