  1. New Zealand wont go bankrupt cos they loose SL market. But can SL manage without 70% of it's dairy products? Give it a few days...lts see what happens Whatever lemon puff touch, never works out well for him or the country.
  2. Self imposed halt to ops due to politicians getting involved and taking matters way beyond scope. Yesterday there was a protest led by lemon puff gang and the next step might be the bbs getting involved. Nobody...personal or corporate have a chance to voice their pov on anything as everything is controlled by higher gods. transparency, rule of law and justice is absent. And most of all after ltte issue, we badly need an enemy to bash so other issues can be forgotten
  3. ebay ones too look cheap and i'm guessing stepping down is helped by electronics and not really by a wound up transformer. Cos the units look pretty compact. Have been seaching local classifieds and came across a few but nothing solid... These have to be available in local market as quite a few used jap stuff sellers have 110 tools for sale.
  4. I use CarMinder for iOS. Use it to keep track of repairs and services...can't be bothered with fuel thing although the app does have a fancy look fuel tracking feature as well. I did try it at first but gave up cos it wasn't worth my time entering data on fuel burn.
  5. http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-LiteFuze-3000-Watt-Transformer-Step-Up-Down-110-220-/360288262227?pt=Travel_Adapters_Converters&hash=item53e2da9853 $128 to ship usps priority and $129 is the price. If the seller can ship first class air instead priority, shipping might be less.
  6. I've seen ones on ebay. shipping is a bit steep due to weight i suppose but those are still cheaper than the rates you've got
  7. Apologies for going OT... You managed to source a step down transformer for your mitre saw? Oddly enough i too came a across a larger mitre saw with an extendable arm today...makita...110v though. Got a compound mitre saw already but the clearance isn't enough for larger stuff and the extendable arm on 110v unit has better clearance. Didn't pull the trigger on it cos of the 110v issue. I haven't seen heavy duty units in SL.
  8. i have run my sub and 4 door speakers for well over an hour on battery alone without any issues. Sub amp is 200w range i think cos it's firing a single 8". Not too bothered as it's a manual so worse case, jump starting is a breeze. I got a 90ah battery though.
  9. i'd pry it open somehow and replace the battery that seems to be the only option isn't it? Or take it to one of those door lock joints to see whether the innards of the sealed unit can be opened up and transplanted to another housing where it can be opened up easily
  10. craft is a dying trait all over the world gone are the days people spent time, money and effort into fixing things...now it's all about replacement. Saving time is the key thing so spending hours and hours to craft something doesn't make a lot of sense
  11. not an expert on that model but if you do some online research...you can find out about all the little tid bits that are different from model to model. Things like lights, fairings even the engine casings shapes change slightly from model to model. Also afaik, Jade isn't a super in demand model for people to be going through the hassle of changing things up. Say for a cibbie or hornet...the story is different cos they are in demand... good luck
  12. Boys Anybody know where i can pick up an all region 3d blu ray player? Checked with usual suspects but nothing came up...all are region locked ones!
  13. at the risk of sounding stupid...what's an electric overdrive machang? some kinda motor assist thing?
  14. the stick welder is burning through most of the light material...even with low current and careful handling. TIG actually seems a lot of PITA...maybe a proper MIG Them chinese units are about 30k...getting argon tanks etc is the bigger bitch
  15. 1+ of getting the right frame size. Was all excited buying a good looking bike, the one i got now it too small for me Best would be to ride it a bit and see if it all works out...
  16. Ideal would be to get a float charger...not a trickle charger. trickle charger is a slow charger but overtime if hooked up for longer time it can overcharge a battery. A float charger will sense when the battery is topped up and will start to slowly discharge to a point and then charge it again. very much like the battery being hooked to a vehicle. Got a float charger myself and it has been maintaining my bike battery for the past 2 years without a hitch. I start the bike once a month or so just to get the motor running and it's got only the electric leg so having the battery in shape is critical
  17. yeah. junior loves all the weekend workings at home keeping the chap away when things get a little hairy is the issue. Like when i get to weld and stuff. Tough to manage with a curious 4 year old Stick welder is showing it's weaknesses though...a good TIG is what's needed now.. Quite the addiction this tool hoarding has become Thanks Sylvi. I got regular grease from an oil shop close to home. The quality stuff are quite pricey as you've stated. Once the the 3kg i got runs out, will get the Caltex high temp bearing grease. Seems to be a decent all rounder grease for U joints, ball joints and the likes.
  18. as you know, i got the truck and two trail bikes that needs attention on and off. the gun is a the larger size, cartridge type that takes fair amount of stuff to load up. So pointless getting those smaller tubs... I already have about 3 types of grease for diff uses that come in the smaller tub and tubes etc. This is purely for underbody greasing points. I think i will do a proper recce on ground for this cos nobody seems to have an idea where to get the stuff
  19. thank you for that stupid comment!
  20. the grease gun takes about a kilo at a time to be fully loaded. the U joints in two drive shafts too need to be "flushed" out when regreasing so it takes a fair amount of stuff. I haven't done it myself just yet but at service stations, they use up fair bit of grease. The truck is the older vintage where there are many grease points under the body
  21. Would anyone know where one can get grease by the kilo or even in a large quantity? I checked my usual lube shop and they only have specialized stuff from caltex...pricey and comes only upto a killo. Also checked with an IOC fuel station and they too have similar volume containers. I'm looking for the regular stuff that service stations use on ball joints, U joints and stuff during service. Sometimes wet weather eats out the grease fast and need to get re-greased between services. Got a grease gun at home so thought of adding that to my usual weekend maintenance list
  22. Happy Birthday MD!!! Here's to a super year filled with more classics, devilled chicken wings and jumbo jollies!
  23. CRC in seeduwa had the little weld tack tool where you can stick onto the dent and quickly pull out. It does damage the paint where the tool makes contact with the body surface. I've seen it in action and it does work pretty good.
  24. depends on how badly your chain is worn. generally when sprockets go out, its time to replace the whole lot at once. But if you strongly feel the chain has life, removing a link should work. BUT, in my experience once you do that, the chain will not fit properly over the sprocket and the sprockets will be eaten out a lot faster. Chains and sprocket stretch and wear together so meddling with one generally screws up that "balance"
  25. they were since last year. One of my friends got caught for his fart barrel. Had to go to courts if i remember right, pay a fine and show the coppers the car afterwards with a quieter pipe.
