This is normal for a V*P motorcade.. the reason behind it is so that any potential attackers or assasins will not know which vehicle their target is in... different numbers are easy to distinguish and this method allows a safer passage for a V*P figure... also upto 5 cars of a V*P attachment are allowed to have the same number as long as they are identical in every aspect... trust me i know what i am saying...

Ok if your buying if off the dealers and specially over here in the U.S you shouldnt be too worried... make sure the all important 60k service has been done and also all TSB's and recall bulletins...there should be 'Mazda Authorised' stickers all over the bonnet if these recalls have been done...we over here are lucky as Mazda changed the warranty on engines to 8 years and 100,000 miles so thats awesome... Mine is the 6 speed manual and i honeslty suggest you go for an manual as the extra HP and fun factor do come into play... on the test drive just look out for a few simple things make sure the gears dont grind between 3rd and 4th which is a common problem with the RX8's... also look for any lil signs of abuse that u would with any car... since ur here in the states get the VIN number and run a CarFax check so that you can be sure of its background, service schedules and of course any accidents... BUY WINTER TIRES!!!! LoL... Trust me on that one!! ... Finally just enjoy the car on the test drive, make sure to take the car to its redline and go through some twisty areas and you will be hooked... i went to the dealership to buy a Subaru STi and whilst waiting for them to bring one out from the back i decided to drive the RX8 for the hell of it.... went for 10 mins, came back to the sales guy told him to forget the subaru and drove my baby back home...

Hey Bro.... Yes i do currently own an RX8 and i am going to be very very honest with my opinion... 1st of all when purchasing a used RX8 you have to make sure that the owner knows the kind of car he has and has looked after it properly... ask him how many times he adds the proper oil (in my case Castrol GTX 5w-20) which should be a quart every 2 fill ups or halfway on the dipstick...secondly ask him if he warms up the car before use and if so for how long... ( the 2004 models had a problem with flooding which was when you started the car and moved it 5 feet without warming the car to proper operationg temperature and then shuttin it off immediately) this leads to the car flooding and is a friggin pain in the ass to sort out... ask him if he drives the car without DSC and if so has anything major happened...this car is very very twitchy in wet weather and to drive it without traction control is a death wish... dude the major negatives of this car is that it requires alot of attention and proper maintenance... also check if any modifications have been made to the RX8... i say this because if mods have been done the person that did it would have to know for certain what he is doing...exhaust work in this car is a mess and a small mistake can send all the sensors through the roof.... The BIGGEST problem however is that RX8's tend to build up alot of carbon if they are not redlined regualrly or on a daily basis...this car has a redline of 9000rpm ...make use of it!!! Nope the Green auto was originally also burgundy brought down on a non-transferable paper and then lay in a car shop for some time before someone managed to grab hold of it and do it up....i went and looked at that car bout a year or two back and deemed that i was too much trouble to correct.... The blue R34 GTR is no longer that colour it was painted black and then had an unfortunate accident on the durdans hospital road...i dont think its been repaired yet....

LoL...that was a R32 GTR that was brought down and raced on track by Dilantha Malagamuwa a few years back...unfortunately the car was stopped from competing due to not meeting requirements on being above a certain limit...whatever it was the car was not seen after that... the reason why we call it the polthel car was cos it had a huge sticker running across the side with those very words imprinted on it! ***** My bad it was R32 GTR and not a R33******* devinda i think Guruges car was also condemmed...that was a R33 GTST too....

Hmmm there was a white 2 door R32 GTS that used to be around colombo... there is a black R32 that had R34 rear lights coverted on it that was last seen at nadeera's shop...there is another 4 door silver R34 GT auto without the spoiler... and of course the Red R32 GTST which was condemmed..and of course the famous R33 GTR (Polthel) !

Yup thats the only car i can think of....plus the stickers and stripes were taken off so its all white now on the GT.... although i have heard rumours of a white cut/bud GTR circulating in the ratnapura area..never got to confirm the story though...oh well

The only white skylines that have sunroofs is Riyaz's which is now red and the white R34 GT......so might have been that...

Yup... 4 door RWD 2.0 Inline 6....all the cars in SL are automatic except for one silver that is a manual (GR-8998) ..

That R33 is now painted Red and owned by Riyaz...has alot of work done to it thanks to sacha and sabry and is a beast! lol...end of story! the car is kept in kandy most of the time .....

Nope my car was brought down by me brand new and now it has only 3000 km on it still...no road trips yet! but there was a R33 GTST white that belonged to mufaz and now wit someone else...there was a R32 GTS white which i have no idea where its at...there is a R34 GT white (which used to have black stripes on the side) that used to be in colombo but was sold to someone outstation...as far as i know there are only 2 R34 GTR's, 4 R34 GT's, 2 R33 GTST's, 1 R32 GTS, 2 R32 GT, 1 R32 GTST (converterted to GTR)......hmmmm i think thats it....
