  1. You won't find a sedan with the ground clearance AND the fuel economy of a Cruze/Swift.
  2. Ane manda, the kind of skewed information you spread around in this forum is amazing. You're an infection.
  3. Just to clarify things for @hatharasinghe, don't use 100W bulbs in your normal headlamps. Your car's headlight circuitry is not designed to provide that much power. In addition, its very likely you will damage the headlamp assembly through excess heat. The Rallye 2000 @Ripper refers to are after market driving lights designed for high wattage use when installed properly.
  4. I can't stress this point enough, and I'm sure I've stated it before: Your car's standard halogen headlight will not properly reflect the light from an HID bulb. This is because of the difference in shape of a Halogen bulb filament VS HID bulb arc. This is why your light output is funky. When I had my van, I had to position the lamps much lower than I would have with halogens. The other issue with aftermarket HID is that that there's very little difference between low and high beams (headlights), because the dipped beam is created by a solenoid mounted shroud which moves to partially obscure the light. In halogens there are two separate filaments taking care of this. @hatharasinghe if your headlights are focusing very high, its very likely your low beams are already creating glare on oncoming traffic. I had this issue with my van, when I had finally found the correct position, the high beam was quite useless because it would not shine as high as halogen bulbs would. It's because of these issues I decided not to go HID with my Vios but instead invest in good halogen bulbs instead.
  5. I plan to buy one of these once my finances are out of the red. A lot of people in other automotive forums give high praise to it.
  6. Check the MAF, its probably misreading your airflow making your engine do weird things.
  7. @ Jami Ok let me explain our response. IF this same question was posed upon us by a complete n00b, or at least a non-smart ass, we would have glady pointed out the difference. Which is what happened to you in the Nissan forums, because they don't know you like we do. But since we do know you, drawing from our past experience with you, we decided this was the best route to take.
  8. Being a minimalist, I would say without. Anyone will (should) know it's a Triumph simply by looking at it. And as for the video, youtube is blocked at work, so for some reason I assumed it was of the project car. I dream of twin cam MGAs.
  9. The resto is done? Or is this one of your other TRs?
  10. I'd rather pay 2 laks more and get an A33 Cefiro instead.
  11. Definitely stay away from the "kutta kapapu" tires.. I've been to the Arpidac facility where they retread tires, and followed the process from start to end. The first step is actually shaving off the existing tread down to the core. They do however cut tread sometimes for massive specialty tires, those tires come out of the oven basically as slicks, with a full layer of rubber.
  12. This reminds me of fiasco between the two Danny McBrides; For the longest time I was under the impression the guy from The Foot Fist Way also wrote the Underworld series. But this is just inexcusable. Jami, you are no longer fit to give advice on this forum.
  13. I think it's because the thread suddenly popped up on top in the discussions list this morning. I've seen it happen a few times. Probably because someone voted.
  14. The black car is a test mule, not a "speculative rendering" of anything. It's common for new unreleased designs to be obfuscated in such a manner as to make identifying the real design impossible. Google for spyshots of cars.
  15. Yeah, they always take a few seconds to warm up, even on cars which come with factory HIDs. If it takes over 10 seconds then you have an issue with the ballast.
  16. I'd love to see your filtration setup, and also please do share the recipe for the catalytic process. Also have you sourced suppliers for the alcohol and the catalyst?
  17. Wow I must have had my wires crossed when I did that post. The one the LEFT is what I made, not the one on the right. Thanks for pointing that out Davy.
  18. It's Japan only, not limited perse.
  19. So the Osram Nightbreaker H3s were waiting for me when I arrived home tonight. Poetic justice or not, the left fog lamp blew out this morning, so I have an excuse to work on my car tomorrow while at office.

    1. Schiffer

      Schiffer

      did you fix them yet?

not yet, and i don't think i'llbe able to any time soon, cos they're putting concrete on my lane and we're parking our cars at a neighbour's house till its done with. so no tinkering for the next two weeks :(

    3. Schiffer

      Schiffer

yikes. well atleast the H4's are on :)

  20. Good to see there's a gshock fan here. I only have 2 myself, an early DW5600C and it's latest incarnation, the GW-5000-1JF, which cost me as much as a new Frogman!
  21. It isn't a good idea I think, to discuss the motives behind the sale of a car advertised here as opposed to the price quoted.
  22. I'm pretty sure other enterprising individuals have thought of this as well. There are simply too many blocking factors, the least of which will be your local MP when he gets wind of your business. Soon everyone will start wanting a cut out of it, and you'll eventually become Shell Gas 2.0. I'm just saying.
  23. Actually E85 contains 85% Ethanol, not biodiesel. Cars which run on E85 have "Flexfuel" badges on them (I used to see them regularly during my time in the states). Both biodiesel and E85 are however biofuels.
  24. Rudolf Diesel initially made the Diesel engine to run on vegetable oil. True story.
  25. This might be a promo car. Casio has a "Colors" range of funky G-Shocks which are horribly expensive. The two might be related.
