  1. Ironically, our current forum worked fine today on all fronts. I was under the assumption some kind of rerouting to the new server was taking place behind the URLs till I read the latest posts in this thread.
  2. The white thingy is probably a raped panda Micro Panda Sport, while the one below it is either a Tahoe or Avalanche, they both share the same face.
  3. The RS is not AWD? That I didn't know. Can you say torque steer?
  4. There are a handful Vios' in the country which have the velour(fabric) interior, I was lucky enough to find one such example. It is also devoid of the garish simulated Wood/Aluminium trim. The center gauge cluster may appear to be a pain at first, but it affords one a very clear view of whats in front of them without any distractions. My only qualm about it would the fact that the digital display has the clock capability, but for some reason they chose to place it lower down instead. Performance wise, I've been able to keep up with most other 1NZ-FE powered vehicles out there. Comfort is one area where it lacks, as the suspension is rather stiff, but that makes for a very balanced car with not much body roll when changing direction quickly.
  5. My 2005 Vios E Auto does 10 in the city and close to 14 out station (real world figures). Your biggest consideration against the Honda shitty City should be the fact that it has the complicated 7 speed CVT transmission and I believe electric power steering as well.
  6. Gymkhana anyone? It's a Fiesta, but srsly, this is all I can think of when I think of the Focus.
  7. A guy in the office has one. All I can see is that the black version is deceptively small from afar, and it sounds like a diesel should sound, complete with the loud turbo whine.
  8. Fuel level indicator flashing, wtf does my car not have a bright amber light indicating im low on fuel???

I dont know abt your car but in mine it starts off with the indicator flashing then the amber light comes on ( When you are really low like about 5 lts or less

@CARBON B4 According to my owner's manual, there's only the flashing level indicator, no amber light or anything :( The thing is that I keep parking tickets and crap in the gauge binnacle which sometimes hides the indicator. Almost ran out of fuel on the way to work yesterday.

    4. Schiffer

by any chance is it a land rover?

  9. Don't worry much about indicators like that. It's mostly the ones in red and amber you should worry about, especially if they flicker or are continuously lit.
  10. No shift in weight, only the ride height is different. Therefore, no change in COG either.
  11. I have yet to come across a car which has an indicator for low beams.
  12. Spyker C8 Laviolette. Because it was love at first sight.
  13. Not to be a stick in the mud, but the tire profile size calculation is slightly more complicated than that. It's actually a percentage of the tire width, so in this case the difference in the mentioned sidewall heights would be (175*.70)-(165*.60)=122.5-99=23mm in diameter. Ideally, his rears should be 175/55 14 to more or less maintain the same overall sidewall height. But other than that, yeah what everyone else said. If anything, you'll be blessed with better rear end grip and passenger comfort.
  14. Because Europe lead in a big way when it comes to diesel engines. Even the Honda diesels are Europe only models. Toyota's only new diesel development in the last 10 years has been the new V8 diesel, everything else is quite old. They're sticking to what they're good at and cutting their potential losses.
  15. First of all, does this happen only when you're carrying about 4 or 5 passengers?
  16. USPS is the American equivalent to our Sri Lanka Postal Service. UPS is the courier service. Since you're getting yours through the former, it will be coming through the regular postal service and it will probably be buried under a mountain of back log. As of today apparently there are ~1.8 million articles of mail still waiting to be processed. Last time this happened, it took 6 months from the posted date for them to find and notify me of my package.
  17. I got down a new phone 7 months ago through a courier service. I had to pay a little something to get it cleared, but that was only because it was a personal favour. If detained by customs, you will need to obtain TRCSL approval for your phone in order to clear it.
  18. So anyway. That DB9 looks very ominous being devoid of any colour except different shades of black.
  19. Whatever you decide to do, don't forget the fake rear disc brakes.
  20. double post
  21. VWvortex, your list of cars looks very familiar...shouldn't there be a Hyundai Stellar somewhere there as well?

    Carb To Efi

You can convert it to electronic ignition easily enough, but EFI is a completely different animal. You're better off fitting an EFI engine in your car instead.
  23. I use a few kinds of glue in my hobbies, what works best for me is dipping the affected finger(s) in very warm water (not so hot that you can't stand it). For stuck objects, including finger, dip the joint in the warm water and slowly pry apart. Be careful of pulling off top skin, the heat and friction will have numbed your fingertips quite a bit and you feel anything until its too late (lots of experience).
  24. Can you find those cars here in SL? Even the old model is quite rare.
