  1. CR41 comes wth a 2C engine, CR42 with a 3C-E engine. KR41 comes with a 1.5 liter engine, the KR42 with a 1.8 (not sure what the petrol engine designations are) Their dashboards are also different; 42 series has the radio mounting position up on top of the dashboard, similar to the corolla 110 cars. The difference between the CR27 Liteace and Townace are : - the front blinkers, the liteace has amber units with integrated parking lights, townace has clear units with orange shroud for the bulb inside, and no provision for parking lights. - the grill is different, the liteace has "nostrils" where as the townace has the parking lights in that position. - model name on the steering wheel. No difference in size whatsoever. Neither are differentiated as export/jdm models, they just follow the trend of Toyota having two or more models using the same chassis with minor difference in the body (toyota regius/touring hiace, corolla ceres/sprinter marino, etc)
  2. I'm really not sold on the new Doctor....

did he give you a prostate exam?

  3. Does the phone reset like it reboots, or does HTC Sense crash and restart? I faced similar crashes when I ran a task killer, so if you have any disable them and see. Failing that, try a factory reset. I would suggest against having it looked at by anyone unless you experience a clear failure on part of the hardware or operating system.
  4. I found it quite depressing to live with, personally. We have a Milestone 1 (The original Droid) in the office for development purposes. It's a very solid device, you can feel it when you slide the keyboard out or heft it in your hand. Performance is less than stellar though, having only 256MB RAM and a slow processor works against the very sharp screen (has 54 more pixels lengthwise than my Desire S), however I've read the CPU, being a Cortex, can be successfully overclocked to 800MHz, and even 1GHz, but stability does suffer at the latter speed. If you're going for a Motorola, I'd suggest an Atrix, but their Motoblur interface is quite inferior to HTC Sense (which is tops hands down).
  5. I think maybe the ATF cooler.
  6. Looks like a slotted tamper proof screw.
  7. I too use a Desire S. Had a Tattoo, TyTN, and O2 XDA Exec (HTC Universal) previously, so I'm kind of partial to HTC. I would say the best phones coming out are definitely Android based, and I wouldn't cross out WP7 just yet; the first iPhone initially had very very few features (even now the so called multitasking is half baked at best). I have used the HTC Trophy (WP7) and I fell in love with the interface. I love 2D tiles with 3D effects.
  8. I'm just happy you called it a grill and not "shell" or "cell".
  9. Saw this 15 minutes ago on the Baseline.
  10. Interesting about the use of McFoil. My trusty van's heat shielding is in a bad way and I can feel the heat radiating through the center console. How is the stuff sold i.e. by the foot or meter?
  11. I love that Colt, reminds me so much of the BMW 2002 Touring.
  12. Something similar happened to James May. He kept on shifting into reverse when they meant to shift into 1st when he was driving a Benz 190E Cosworth due to the dogleg shift pattern unique to that model. Unfamiliar shift patterns really need getting used to. Doesn't the Prius have a normal shift pattern with the Park button on the dashboard? I feel the hybrid driver would have done the same were he driving a regular automatic.
  13. Looks more like Pulsar N15 alloys....
  14. I've been using 4300Ks in my vehicle for the past two years, and they're still brighter than halogens. I think some of the posters in the thread are dissatisfied with the amount usable light because they tend to go for 6000k bulbs. 4300K may not look as cool, but it is pure white with a slight hint of yellow, and simulates daylight like no other. Anything above 6000K will just cause massive eye strain especially when driving in unlit areas for extended periods of time (I bought a pair of 8000K replacement bulbs just to try them out, they're bloody awful in the rain, you might as well be using one of those LED flashlights you can buy from Pettah for 150/-).
  15. Speaking of Starlet KP60/61, I haven't seen one for sale in years. Have they all died?
  16. I would much prefer if Hybrid Owners were banned from driving below 40km/h in favorable conditions. I was stuck behind a Prius from Rajagiriya to Wellampitiya this morning, and it was funny to see two loaded articulated fuel tankers overtaking it at one point. Yes I'm probably stereotyping, stigmatizing and god knows what else, but by jove, bashing Hybrids is almost as fun as bashing Marutis.
  17. Yup. Any idea if the Titanium Grey one running around Colombo is a proper AC or a knock off?
  18. Saw one of these on the Baseline yesterday.
  19. Fiat Brava? (not Bravo) Regularly see a 65- red example of one around Colombo city.
  20. Here's a car I see regularly in a car sale, somewhere in the outskirts of Colombo. The first car in a long to get the "wtf?!" title from me.
  21. LHD conversion?
  22. That looks nice, reminds me of a cross between an MG ZR and a Focus RS.
  23. COD Black Ops w00t!!

is the single player version good and long enough to put down the moolah?

  24. I'm in. And on the after market HID front, if possible just adjust your lights so that the low beams are on par with regular halogen low beams. If you've got a pair of bi-xenons, you'll never get the full use of high beams because the beam deflection is too little (the low beam shroud still gets in the way). If you do adjust them high enough for the high beam to be effective, then your low beams are going to be straight in the face of oncoming traffic and there will be several Maruti's acting all kamikaze like. I experimented over several weeks on the optimum beam height for my CR27, I rarely get flashed at, and the instances when I do I'm sure its more because the driver looks straight into my lights since they're of a different colour (4300K) and he blinds himself, than not.
  25. +1 for the DiRT series.
