    Alfa Romeo

It should be out very soon. Will keep you updated and you can see it. The owner is a very nice guy.

    Wiper Blades

This RainX sounds good. I had read and heard about it but never used it. Glad to know it's available here. BTW bought a pair of Bosch blades two weeks ago for the 2.0 156. It's terrible - maybe I got fakes. Will change it soon to Wurth.
  3. Good collection MiniAce. Reminds me of many forgotten songs and artists. I like Depech Mode and Duran Duran!
  4. Nice. Thanks.
  5. Any pics? I like the Mk2 and Mk3

    Alfa Romeo

Hi Mich nice to see you back! My Giulia is nearing body shop work. I think it will go to the painters in early Feb. How's your babe doing? About this one.......urgghhh! it looks too vulgar for me I'm afraid. The max I'll do is take mine to GTAm spec. But then the original spec is more than capable of blowing similar aged cars into the weeds on our roads. So I don't think I'll mess with it much. And I like to preserve the understated looks. Btw way I went and saw the 3 rd Giula in SL. It is an ochre yellow junior. easily the most original Giulia here. It's a pre facelift step front 1300.
  7. Well I them in the metal and to my eyes it looked pretty bad compared with the rest of the prancing horses around there.
  8. MA what is the Capri Mk 1 facelift? Not the Mk2 right? And you mean the BMW E36 M3 I guess? May I know what made you choose that car?
  9. Actually I used to think so too. But after seeing these in the metal.......I must confess that I can't help wanting them since they trade at very low price. My pick would be this the 365 GTC/4
  10. Lucky you dhp...... About narrowing it down to 3.... well life is cruel sometimes But I guess we need some challenge as well. Or else everyone will be greedy and lists will never end!
  11. Because they were both styled by Pininfarina!?
  12. Good point Maithri. Actually I grew up in an English speaking environment (in the end I guess it was the better move as we had to study everything in Sinhalese) and it was ALWAYS English channels on our radio. However I do like to get a dose of Sinhala music occasssionally. In fact while my ipod on the car is chock full with 80s stuff my CD changer has 3 Singhala CDs. One is the Best of Clearence (I think he's very cool) and the other two are Baila albums by Desmond De Silva. I find the Baila is very soothing when you have a rough day swearing filth, staring daggers and emitting poison at 3 wheelers and bus drivers all day. The humour in baila can lift my mood up quickly. Btw a bit OT but do you guys think that Sinhala music has evolved enough over the years? I am not qualified to comment but my feeling is that things have started changing only since about 5 years ago? Which is another reason that I am not really turned on by it enough. I feel we've have been sitting in the same place for too long...yes, no!?
  13. Maybe he switched the VDC off somehow. I suppose with it on even if he did get a call it would be idiot proof as so many reviews state.
  14. I would just like to share this info with everyone. DIMOs sent fuel samples of 90 and 95 to Mercedes Germany for analysis after they found problems with the E class. Mercedes concluded that the 90 octane fuel was of much better quality than 95. They said that the 95 has lots of impurities. Further analysis by Dimos revealed that as 95 is purchased in v small quantities compared to 90 it is done from various difference sources, and quality varies massively. In contrast 90 is bought in large volumes from very regular sources. I use 95 with regular fuel system cleaners as my hand book specifies a minimum of 95 octane but recomends 98!
  15. Yes the Lusso is gorgeous. But I prefer the purer swb......But somehow I love the tdF the best...............og and then there's the 275! Phew. I think it's easier to look for the unlikable Ferraris !

    Changing Timing Belt

Please be vary about the quality of the belt. Try to get it from a reputed dealer if such an entity exists. I recently had a belt on our company Mazda 323 snap after around 30k kms. Lucky for me the engine was not damaged at all. It seems it was a fake and so I don't go to that vendor anymore. Btw the Alfa Twin spark engines had notorious belt snapping problems. The factory initially recomended belt changes at 72k miles. But new buyers found out the hard way that the Italians actually meant Kms and not miles . There were massive wwarrenty claims that some Alfa Dealers did not honor. In SL we change our belts every 36,000km to be on the safe side. Expensive but worth the trouble.
  17. Deuseys are cool. I watched a programme on either Discovery or History about them. Any idea if they ever entered competition? Btw most 8Cs also had twin superchargers and it was only the lungo that had the lowest top speed probably due to its weight. The Normally aspirated 2900 A Pinin Farina Berlinetta for example hit 143mph !!! Check out the pop up lamps in 1936!!!
  18. The 8C 2900 Lungo (long) - What a coooool car! Straight 8 and a top speed of 125mph in the 20's!!!
  19. Man I missed that one. Cracking track!
  20. Not really a Manson fan Arc, he (or it) is a bit too diabolical for me but I like this cover of the Eurythmics song. My favourites are somewhat similar to yours - Radiohead (all time fav), Muse, Massive Attack..... that kind of stuff. As for metal I think one of the best bands are Led Zepplin which I 'discovered' only about two years ago after buying their "Best of" Twin CD! I'm also a big fan of Lennon; but it's hardly driving music.
  21. Is it like it's taking longer for the Turbo to kick in? Sounds like some electronic problem to me. Did they try reprogramming the ECU? It's amazing how many electronic issue are not shown on the analyzer in modern cars. Lakshank why not go onto a Rover forum or Peugeot TDi forum (The 25 TDi engine is from Peugeot isn't it?) and see if other users have had similar problems.
  22. Hey Devinda good to know you're an 80's fan. My entire iPod is full of 80's tracks. My fav Winwood track is "Don't you know what the night can do"!
  23. Hey dhp you can list the ultimate top 3 from 30s to 50s. About the 911 for me the stand out cars are the 930 turbo (thought about the 2.7 RS as well but how could I dismiss the Countach and the 930 turbo has so much presence and looks the more 70's car with that massive tail) and the 993. I don't like the 996 for example and nor do most Porschephiles. Yes please do post the pics.
  24. What else ? The MX5 is a great drive and I can live with those looks
