Toyota, TRD & Good Year. Engine test fit with the dummy SC in place for hood clearance. These hoses will be re-routed. View is against the firewall Back of the SC against the firewall.

Tacoma getting stripped down. The cab will be painted silver with light black and red accent. The metal flakes on the paint is somewhat old school in that the flakes are bit larger and more pronounced when it's fully painted. Sample of what the color will look like

This is what's left of the donor truck. She's all naked now . From the Tundra we are going to use: engine transmission rear differential diff carrier wire harness shift selector gauge cluster half shafts fuel pump ecu and few other minor parts to make everything fit right. MadMax, this one is straight line only mate. Doubt she'll do much in the way of going around corners. The blue Tacoma is in the background getting stripped to the bare frame.

Been thinking about posting this here for a while since I've not seen a full build project in AL. This is pretty much a ground up project to transplant a Toyota Tundra powertrain + a supercharger into a Toyota Tacoma X-Runner and turn it into a race truck. Tacoma = 4.0 V6 with 6 speed manual Tundra = 5.7 V8 with 5 speed auto Target is to keep the outward appearance as stock looking as possible. Target 1/4 mile time is in the 11 second range with about 550-600 HP. Should be interesting... I'll get some pictures and more details up later on.

So is there a 'trick' to getting one of these special permits? I'm sure it involves greasing a bunch of people but would love to know who's a** should be properly kissed to make it happen.
