Niether I am an Axio fan nor owner of a sports car, just an average guy observing these comments. It really funny (and pathetic in a way) to see some comments on Axio reaching 130kmph, while hail on I reached 200, I redlined, my X,Y,Z car on various public roads. Just put my 2 cents in. Edit: May be 130Kmph .. wrong comment on wrong thread. If this came if "How fast you have driven" thread nobody would bothered to reply.

These axxo threads and fuel efficiency threads shows the gap between average sri lankan car buyer and afluent (in terms of mortoring) community here in A/L. Edit: damn I'm more fimilier with aXXo than Axio

Put some of the money to FD. Invest little bit on stock market, if you new to stock market it's bit risky with price manipulations happening with some shares. If you can find a place to put a car for rent, that is good option too. Well you need to have some contacts with minister, and suitable land.

There are plenty of good Japanese used cars in this range. Go for any of those without going for Alto or WagonR.

I knew one Accent which owner baought for lesser price and hope to do some engine repairs and using it. But he had hard time finding some engine parts/sensors. Its about 6 months back. However Nissan March with auto gears also a good option.

hi guys, about my cusins Axela, he was lucky enough to find a rear ended axela that imported for parts. So replaced the damged power steering related parts from it. However after completing all the repair work, two days later Check engine light came and reading arror is Steering Angle Sensor and he says steering is not smooth as it was earlier. He is gonna check the same place for sensor. However any suggestions for reliable place to get this checked/repaird. And he gonna take it to C** M***T as well. Also where can buy this sensor, if needed.

Hi Sara. I was in the same situation about year ago same budget, thought of buying an eg8. However I wait almost 6,7 months, searching good condition EK3 and my budget increased to 1.5M during that period. And I found good Ek3 Vi. So my suggestion is to, if you are in hurry, look for EK3 exi over eg8 since its newer car compare to eg8. If you go through sunday papers and keep on searching, should be able to find good ek3 exi around 1.3 - 1.4. I must say that EK3 prices also seem increased during last year by about 0.5 - 1 laks. Those indiglo things wont worth with me either. All of them on ebay is designed for US models with mph value in primary dial and speed goes up to 220kmph, where as i've got only 180kmph. Want to keep the original display.

Well as I explained driving style had to change when situation demands I don't think you keep it over 2000 when junior onboard, do you? And for records, Yesterday night, left Colombo around 11.00pm after a wedding and arrived at Kandy just after 1.5hrs. RPM was well over 3000 hit the red line couple of times, and didn't bothered about how much fuel left. I doubt if it did even 8/9 Kmpl

Can't we remove this filter, without any affect on gauge pannel? And how this indilgo thing work? Is it a sticker that going to be pasted or gonna replace the cluster? And the A/C control panel lighting not gonna work for me. There are only 4 buttons which does not have any back lighting, but indicates on the navigation screen.

Yes. So it is understandable why average person will always look for spare parts availability, ease of maintanence (guarages, mechanics,etc) as priorities than the comfort, performance, in first place.

This looks like quite decent and worthy modification for my EK3 too. Because it also looks so dull in the nigh with very poor backlighting. Appriciate any more helps from guys who done/doing this. DIY pics/places/contacts/FAQs would be really helpful.

When it comes to newer models, to some extent it is valid. Best is to you do do normal oil and filter change from Kandy and may be in between every 2,3 regular services take it to the agents. Then it'll be only once a year or so. @jdnet's comment, talking about buying decision based on factors such as repair shops, etc. Unless you have another vehicle at home its understandable why average guys in Sri Lanka looks for Sunnys and Corollas. Specially the middle class and lower middle class buyers which may be around 90% of the market. Let me explain, there was a thread whether to go for Mazda Axella or some common model like corolla. My cousins Axela had an accident 2,3 weeks back. A tyre from other vehicle came out and hit the bumper. Only visible damage is broken buffer from one side. But it has damaged, power steering system, some brackets that hold the head light etc. The problem is no replancement parts available in Sri Lanka, even with agents. So has to wait atleast another 1 month or more for get it done. This has badly affected his business and every thing. A similar accident happened to my colleges FB-14, which took only 1 week to repair and get the vehicle back.

Yes BIG NO to Airtel from me. Even today I tried to download a movie. Every 2 - 5 minitues line dropped. I have to monitor it and reconnect. If this happened atleast every 20 - 30mins I still could've used it, but every 5 mins. So I gave up.

Sure you can maintain it in Kandy. And also once you start learning little bit of the basic things and how to avoid any major repairs nothing worry about.

Yes its two different things. Econo mode on D15B engine and A/C. There is no econo setting on A/C. It got the climate control A/C where you have to select only the temperature setting, so A/C maintain it or fully automatic setting where it matches the best setting temperature and humidity according to the outside temperature (not sure about technical stuff on climate control). However even with A/C on, still ECONO mode on engine (12 valve economy range of 3 stage vtec) is functional. If you press accelerator pedal very gently it will easy to maintain. But if you always put the car in to 5th gear around 60Kmph and try to maitain the rpm and speed its not gonna work. Because slight drop in power will switch the engine to normal mode and you will burn fuel just like regular engine. Best in our country is to maintain 4th gear around 50kmph with 1600 - 1800 rpm, and if road is clear change to 5th gear at over 2200 -2300RPM. by this way you can maintain econo mode even between gear shifting. And if you travel 100km without stop in this mode, you can get surprised with the numbers.

Machan I knew this might come up. Well this is tested with Full tank to full tank with exact distance travelled. Date is 26th December and travelled from Kandy - Kaluthara and returned same day, total distance around to 340Km and refuled 20L same day in Kandy. But my route was early morning through Avissawella - Padukka and returned from Galle road Dehiwala - Balummahara junc. If you maintain ECONO mode (12 valve) and consistant RPM around 1600-1800 in long trips this is not a magical numbers for EK3-Vi

Isn't Basset hound hard to maintain with their long ears. They tend to get ear infections. I never had this special breeds, but only few common dogs here. But knew few of them with frieds and relatives which they faced various issues with the illnesses time to time, which delayed me having one. But always wanted to try a Beagle, which I think good for a starter.
