  1. Looks like an aftermarket switch, Could be for the light pole if it has one ie, as I've seen Aquas with OEM telescopic self retracting light pole and a switch near the handbrake.
  2. Must have been quite a hole to bend a steelie at that speed! What tyre pressure do you maintain?
  3. If so please do clarify why? would be beneficial to everyone
  4. Bought these by the dozen off ebay, cuts down scratches and swirling quite a bit.
  5. Everything inside the Unit#d Mot#rs Complex moves above 80kmph, so much for leaving your beloved monty there

he just implied they can't control the halfwits.

I'm serious, they make the tyres screech on Shoguns that look like the owner's pampered trophy wives.

So poor chap left his beloved EVO6 ( Blue car white rims, insane exhaust) real deal, they were absolutely thrashing it all over

  6. ECU discussion updated on PM, sorry about the delay
  7. Back in the day I had a similar issue in a Land Rover, somehow it just sheds the refrigerant within a few thousand miles, ultimately ended up replacing every AC component en bulk, starting with the condenser, evaporator, all lines, mounts, the dehumidifier, and painfully the compressor. The bill was 97000 at the time, but it worked absolutely hassle free till the date I sold it (5years+) I could recommend the place as I have done another semi major ac repair there and their work is extremely good but on the expensive side. Also they recommend to replace any troublesome bit then and there. The place is in negombo, let me know if its of convenient distance to you
  8. Well this is the bloody same way they wash cars at Unit#d Mot#rs Service Center!
  9. Maybe almost OT, but i'm compelled! Please Try for the new shape (JDM)

    Alloy Wheels

I love the fact that the car community nowadays go for premium wheel kits aka good brands (BBS, OZ Racing, Enkei so on), used / refurbished of course rather than the chinese taiwan sets that flooded in the early-mid 2000s, (boku and what not!) please stick to that trend
  11. Will respond to the above on your pm, as for the final drive, i've no clue, the setup in the hilux is entirely different, and I've the manual locking rear diff, not the LSD.
  12. If you went through this thread, you don't see fellas buying $1-$2 stuff and bragging about it here mate, lately to us eBay serves as a means to source and procure stuff thats hard to find locally. A bit towards the premium end. Your advice won't go unnoticed of course.
  13. Would be most ideal if you specify your locality mate
  14. Would have been lovely if you could have fitted a set from a late Evo, with many being available locally, sadly being 4 lug you may still be lucky to find an Early Evo set (same pcd 114) that came 4 lug, with the Mitsu branding and all
  15. Yes I do have the kit running full time, I've no clue about the compatibility, I did find a pdf once, might be tucked away in a backup, if I find it, I ll share it here. As far as I know it subtly alters the Ecu performance maps considering other parameters, ex Throttle position, load, engine temp, boost etc. The kit mainly adds upto the acceleration, also blips the idle for 2-3 seconds between gear changes, maybe to keep the boost ready. I've no clue as to why it was deleted, it may have been done in UK, but considering their MoT regulations, I doubt the thriving, probably due to convenience of DPF warnings and so on maybe. As for poor fuel use, I ruled out my fears by testing the injectors. As for spool-up theoretically the dpf is mated post turbo eh, thus it is an obstruction to the flow, producing mild backpressure as well innit. More flow of exhaust = more spool.

Update- There is a mobile app named "plugshare" for iOS and Android platforms, www.plugshare.com A US Based entity, however one can log in and update charging stations along the way. Our local members have done their part making it the most up-to date Ev charger map for Sri Lanka for now, do take a look, the website emulates the app on PC if you have Gps
  17. Your engine must be a far newer variant with newer ecu parameters and software, and comprehensive emission controls.
  18. Well the consistent one is the 3' exhaust I did sometime back, I do have a UK-used steinbauer chip that I sparingly use, as i'm concerned about the engine as I feel it literally rapes the engine, redlines on the slightest blip, boosts upto 2bar, 1.1 stock (1.4 safe with stock internals) the temperature gauge shoots to 150c while you watch and it failed the emissions test with it. Opacity was almost zero visually prior to the chip, but with it on its like running coal. Using 4wd is totally off with it insitu due to the oversensitive throtte. I already had the Toyota Diesel engine perfomance kit as is when I bought it which I found out during a repair at TL, local ECU guru said the loom has been altered to run the Stock Toyota Kit, and it has a DPF delete thereby it throws off parameters on the steinbauer. Wanted a hefty sum to rectify it, finally gave up, but I still have both looms ziptied in, matter of pulling out the glovebox and rearranging the plugs when I want to annoy my dad! The only time I enjoyed it was on the way back from Galle on the Southern Expressway sometime back, it obliterated a Petrol Y62 facelift belonging to friend, can't remember the fuel price but I recall it burned 4000Rs worth of super diesel plus remainders and I was sub reserve by the time I reached colombo Anyways its always been the thirsty one, even more than the X trail at times.
  19. The kit I mentioned is off a US leaf forum, they have no page so far, gotta go through ebay for a similar unit Will let you know if I find decent hids! Yes indeed I have, still wondering about the investment go led mod on leaf or just use that money on the hilux for fuel
  20. Just a small thought regarding this English number trend, again maybe old age and paranoia on my part, of course the owner is entitled to his/her wish, I personally feel it rather messes up the authenticity of the vehicle, it is after-all kind of weird to see an brand new plate with EA etc on a older gen car and pretty much every chap who sees the thing knows that there has been a number swap innit, would have added to the mystery if the number swap came into the same series as ongoing reg plates such as CAJ etc, but in this case its just branding them with English plates, even if the car is restored to spotless condition. But this procedure is rather handy for fellas who got stuck with 13 totaling numbers of 80s and 90s which were sale nightmares, and the only car advices achchis nowadays give! back in the day I used to run English no like look-alikes for neatness on my Land Rover but kept the 32-XXXX number for authenticity. Then again since Defenders never changed in appearance big time, it does not look that alien after all.
  21. Looking at a premium Led kit pricing near $100, with controller heatsink and all, the high beam is useless as is, but the fog lights are quite good oem, actually the low beam led and halogen fog light combo looks really good, the halogen covers the spots the Leds miss, but i do not want to look like a typical noob to the oncoming, thus reserving them only too the needs. A partial evil motive of the Led High beam upgrade is to force the crappy locals to dip their beam in my night commutes I don't have this problem with other vehicles as the seating is much higher and I have frankensteined the lighting systems totally! I'm sure in the Hiace an oncoming high beam is rarely as annoying as facing it on a car.
  22. Guys, need an opinion, planning to invest on a set of Led retrofits for the Leaf, will be purchased abroad and hand carried locally, this particular set in renowned to work trouble free on Leafs, keeping away from eBay kits as H.C adviced. So I would like your advice on the following, should I swap the factory-halogen high beam (H9) or upgrade the fog lights (H11) and use em as driving lamps? Its not like i'm gonna be seeing any fog in this anyways, Also to note, when the high beams are on, the high beams remain superimposed over the stock led low beams.

AFaik there is no induction charger locally, however Arpico has there own fleet of Leafs that drop shoppers home for a nominal fee. You can see them drivers racing the cars on the way back, notably galle road in the evening lol. Many apps coming in, will take a while to form a standard.
  24. Look it up on eBay mate, i'm sure the switches were shared in many toyotas

Theres a chap in Negombo, He converts the dashboard for 5000/- What ECO does is, it reduces the accelerator sensitivity and increases the Regen capability say by 40% When in D Regen capability is roughly about 10% without ECO on When in D with ECO on,You get regen roughly about 50% When in B mode, there is aggressive regen simulating engine braking, thereby giving you upto 100% of regen capability % figures were used just to give you an idea I 've started from Mount, Maradana and Negomb, and have made it easily, have never plugged it to any form of charger other than the one at my premises The Green Frontiers lot are planning a charger halfway, but I fear given the number of cars hoarding in to the island, this charger will become a place to lag for ages,
