  1. Hi Davy, and fellas Would anyone be kind enough to advice me with a location/ enterprise where I could get a similar leather / rexin wrap with seam done on the center console armrest as pictured below. Many of the main stream joints refuse to undertake a small job as this and I am perfectly satisfied with my oem leather interior (they wanna redo the seats etc). Just that I tend to use this bit a lot and would like to have refinished.

Also to mention, I don't see why people hold back 10rs and pump Normal diesel while a Euro spec grade (4Star) is provided rather cheaply and at such easy disposal. DPF or Not whatever the model. Besides there is a marked difference in the pull and idle, on the long run, there is noteworthy difference in aging between the KD engine run on normal fuel and on super diesel, this I've monitored personally with a counterpart, the fuel filter element is visible in these engines, there is barely any visible gunk when the premium diesel is used, this has been seconded by Toyota Lanka and several reputed service stations. I'm sure Supra and Magnum can second that Sadly I don't have my own pictures at the moment, Stock filter Off Hilux forums to get an Idea, The filter looks similar when normal diesel was used This was somewhat similar to the filter condition I see with premium diesel Well this was no controlled experiment and with no set parameters or criteria. Just delivering a humble message with the use of forum pictures, and experience to prevent anyone from ruining these engines prematurely. Happy Motoring

Thanks for stating your experience, just asking; Why didn't you invest on a hybrid van like the Noah/Voxy/Esquire as you are a fan of the whole fuel saving movement, would have been rather entertaining with all the displays graphs and eco figures you know. Or were you looking at sheer passenger capacity?

Not to undermine your fuel figures or your vehicle. My Hilux has the same engine, probably the same performance or lesser, but Manual Transmission, Torque focused gear ratios, Larger tyres, 42000km ODO, Used Super Diesel to date All Genuine Toyota oils and filters; Probably heavier / unladen, given all that barely does 7-8kmpl on a good day, half of yours, but of course I am not as obsessed as you with fuel figures but yours do seem a bit, lets just say on the optimistic side.
  5. http://www.ebay.com/itm/2-0-Universal-HID-Halogen-Fog-Light-Projectors-Lens-CCFL-Halo-Angel-Eyes-/171384527225?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_2&hash=item27e7505979&vxp=mtr Something similar maybe, with a HID kit off a local place; that way I can yank the warranty, when they fail.

Seems like a lot of elbow grease had gone into that front end, especially the lights, Thumbs up
  7. Well those nightbreakers better work lol, or else its gonna be either a projector fog conversion or mean spot lamps on the grill.
  8. The H3 bulb is rather small compared to the HB4, However the holder / body for HB4 is plastic whereas the H3 is metallic and held by a screw. The H3 bulb is connected by a spade connector to the live wire, whereas the HB4 is connected by respective plugs. Maybe something to do with the heat dissipation?
  9. I too wish they were h3, I have a set of WIPAC 8" fog lamps donated from my landy, mounted on the rear for better off road visibility when reversing, The one of the stock lights (h3) burnt off and I resorted to a Narva 100W bulb pair locally, and there was a 100% improvement, compared to how they were. H3 has so many options compared to Hb4
  10. Might as well buy a cheap set till an ebay pair arrive as they tend to push beyond 2 weeks with premium shipping and 3 weeks or more with basic shipping
  11. Well nice to see that we have members who have input on things that matter, rather than winker mirrors and scuff plates The whole unavailability in UK and Not Eu legal thing sounded like a Chinese scam at the time, If I had seen your input earlier I would have definitely invested on the fog breakers So thanks again for your input guys, I already invested on a set of Nightbreaker Unlimited (HB4 9006) Putting out approx 1000 lumens at 3500-4000K / 50w ($35) I do have regrets on not going HID but as I said the fog lamps are very poorly accessible in my vehicle and therefore I need a reliable solution rather than replace ballasts and bulbs time to time. As for the fog breakers sadly I misjudged hem to be some fake lineage and went onto purchase the costlier nightbreaker ultimate which I already have in my headlamps, well atleast the color will match For those interested, ebay seller "RU-parts" and "ecworking" have the fog breakers at $29-35 / w free shipping
  12. Thanks for your input on this, I would have done the same if not otherwise
  13. I feel the 2400/- is a bit too much for a non-genuine, I purchased mine (Toyota) for a similar sum at Toyota Lanka somewhere in 2014. Anyways just forget that now and enjoy your odour-free car
  14. I was not bothered with the science behind it, but I find waxing keeps the lights kinda looking new and shiny, especially the tail lights, so I tend to do it time to time, I use the 3m paste wax, no harm so far.
  15. Thanks a lot Yes, the housings are rather small compared to others. Yes quite true, I still have a feeling the Rally spec bulbs are gonna fry my wiring and the lamp assembly itself, I'd be better of with Nightbreakers, I also found another Lineage, osram fogbreakers, any experience as we both are geeks for bulbs? They do shine proper bright yellow (2800K) though,
  16. Pretty much the same stamp mark on your set. Please do recommend a good HID retrofit, or an eBay seller,
  17. I too did consider the Osram off-road bulbs, my setup is HB4, but the lights are rather small (110mm diameter) and most of it is of plastic including the lens. So i'm pretty much up for more lumens with less heat.
  18. Thanks for the info mate,
  19. Yup I always purchase from powerbulbs UK, or the performancebulbsuk seller on eBay. I've used most of the Osram Nightbreaker lineage, I wanted something near HID, so went with this, anyways wondering on my next investment, Whether to go with HIDs (non- projector) but its a low fog / driving lamp hence the less glare I guess, or trusty Nightbreakers, Xtreme Vision,Costly PIAA or the latest CREE setup, opinions/ suggestions?
  20. Well my Diamond Vision set arrived last friday, and its quite the same story. At first glance one could realize its a horrible duplicate, and I've opened a case and received a refund by now, Its a tedious process to replace the fog lamps in my vehicle so I didn't bother to light them up as they look so crap. This is the sales package The untouched bulb still in packaging, paint already peeling away, mounted crooked False labeling claiming it to be German made, and it has space for a price stamp in Rs. Probably INR

I'd recommend the digital discrete type, rather ricer telescope, decent brands of course, If you have OBd, get a trip computer, for a total diagnostic readout.
  22. Spot on
  23. As per your description, you probably have an aftermarket security system installed with remote start, which is probably turned for the worst with age. Yes any average electrician can remove the alarm / security system successfully provided that the wiring loom is successfully restored back to safe oem spec. (There will be numerous splicing by the existing system). My suggestion would be to remove the current system and install a newer simpler car remote lock / unlock module with / without alarm as per your requirement, but avoiding the remote start function. In my experience, these systems last like for 5-7 years at most and then the remotes or central module gives away eventually. I always have an extra battery for the remote stored in the vehicle.
  24. Speaking of buses, I guess you guys have seen the 2 white Tata / Leyland buses racing on the Airport highway via FB. Couldn't find a video to share here Outrageous I should say, Do the Police actually act on this or other traffic violation footage? or is there anyway that this data can be forwarded to them. Next thing we'll see Tuks doing U turns on the highway like that other joker in the sunny. Rather depressing by the day to see shit like this in the country we live in.
  25. It looks like a resized Mazda 3 (which is quite the looker). But why does the 2 look like a friday evening wrap-up job by the designers.
