Hi Guys, My car is a Toyota Carina Si MyRoad (mfd.1999) and currently it is having abnormal vibration between 1500rpm - 2000rpm. This happens mostly at the cold start and when the engine is heated up to certain level, this vibration issue disappears. Any idea what is causing this? Is there any good place to check the vehicle (apart from Toyota Lanka)? Note: Engine mounts are in good condition. Thanks.

Hi All, I have Toyota Carina Si My Road (1999 model) which comes with 1800cc engine. There are 2 buttons called "PWR" & "MANU" located just next to the gear knob (refer the below image). Can someone explain how these buttons can be used and what are the benefits of using these buttons? Thanks.

Try Toyota Lanka. But be sure to ask the cost before you get the work done :P

Cami ? May be you are referring to Toyota Camry. Toyota Corolla 121 is a good choice if you are concerned about fuel consumption & resale value. But if your concern is luxury, then go for the Camry. At the same time resale value is lower for Toyota Camry (still the 121 cannot beat Camry by features..ha....ha...that's the truth). For 2.2 Million , you can go for a XLi trim level 2001/2002 made 121 I guess. Good Luck.

I'm using Toyota branded fully synthetic oil for my car (2006 made Toyota Premio) . It did not give me any problems so far (mileage is 55,000 Km). Can recommend it for VVTi engines without a doubt. I used to change oil every 3000 Km (but I think it can go up to 5,000 Km without a problem).

My car has 54,000 Km on ODO meter & it is well maintained (records available). But the first owner (I'm 2nd owner) was using semi synthetic oil since he imported the car at mid 2006 (car is brand newly imported & 2006 made). I decided to change the oil in to fully synthetic because, heard some good qualities of that oil type & some friends recommended too. Anyway thanks guys. I'm NOT going to flush my engine. It seems no need of flushing for 54,000 Km driven well maintained engine without a reason. All what I understood from the discussion is this. SWITCHING FROM SEMI SYNTHETIC TO FULLY SYNTHETIC WILL NOT CAUSE ANY PROBLEMS & NO NEED OF ENGINE FLUSH. Correct me if I'm wrong. Thanks.

Did you check above ads which are posted in Autolanka ? All of the 1997 model owners are asking for 1.4 million. But who pays the asking (published) price when buying ? People always advertise for more value rather than their real expectation. All 1.4 million asked cars can be negotiated. If you are going to pay ready cash on the spot, then probably you can get a 1997 model for 1.3 million. No Doubt. Good Luck Mate :dance3:

First of all I should tell one thing about your Toyota Tercel choice. Don't ever buy a Tercel, if you are serious about 2nd hand market (re-sale value). Also you couldn't compare a Tercel to Corolla. Tercel & Soluna are two models that Toyota failed on automotive market (lowest ever sales from cars - Tercel). But on other hand, Corolla is still a major competitive model to many other manufacturers. Anyway it is wise to buy a Corolla rather than buying a Tercel by all means. You can buy a good Corolla (1996-1997 made) for 1.3 - 1.4 million. Is it safe to move from Semi Synthetic Oil to Fully Synthetic Oil without an engine flush ? The complete engine flush which "PITSTOP" offers is recommended ? Are there any risks in engine flushing ?

When I get my Premio, I'll call Crisco Nihal to tune my engine to do at least 20Kmpl in city with heavy traffic. That will be more than enough :sport-smiley-004: P.S : If someone has Crisco Nihal's contacts, please PM me

Don't buy that car (Hyundai Matrix). It does not do well on fuel. Also not a good vehicle to recommend. One of my friend had this car. Bad experiences.

What are the differences between Allion & Premio (featurewise) ? Is the Premio luxurious than Allion ? If so, what additional features it has ? NOTE: Please consider 2003/2004 model onwards

Hi Guys, I'm new to this forum. So, I would like to say hello to everyone first. I'm going to buy a Toyota Premio (F grade - 1500cc) on this weekend. It's 2006 made & brand newly imported to Sri Lanka on year 2006. Early KC series plate. Owner is asking for 4,430,000 (4.43 Million). Will that be a good deal ? I've taken the car for a engine & emission test to Mag city. Nothing wrong with test results (already 53,000 Km on ODO). Please advise. Thanks.
