Sir, I got a new license after paying due fees for my old one last year March which was cracked few months after this new license faded I contacted by Telephone the commissioner in the relevant department and made my complain he at once told me to send the license with a letter to him. I send my Clark with the License and the complain letter the commissioner concerned gave a order on my letter and requested him to go next day early morning to their Werahara Driving license issuing section and they gave a new one free of charge as so many had complained about this problem and they had issued number of old type licenses I think fading was due to some problem in their Machine. Sir, Your Van If you can show to me I will give Free advice to you how to make same comfortable to Passengers as I have done this for last thirty years from the time free imports came to Srilanka. You need only to change 4 ply Tyre and a small modification for your rear Suspension then bumping will be less. In 1970 late RH 11 Toyota was the most popular van which I did lot of modifications to make that van comfortable for Passenger transport. Wijesinghe.

As a passenger Van 6 ply on 13" rims will be uncomfortable Do you have 6ply Tyre on 13" rim 14" rims are bigger so there will be a little RPM problem for a Diesel van it will not effect much. 6Ply Tyre had same problem in a friend of mine's KR41 I advised him to change to 4 ply as he was using his van as a Passenger Van. Sir, I agree with you for your comment about glass wool is poisonous. Please note almost all A/C ducting s are covered with Glass wool and all ends are covered special tape so that glass wool particles will not escape from the joints. Glass wool also act as a very good sound transmission control and temperature control. This job has to be done by a experienced person. In a Automobile doors have two metal panels that alone controls outside sound. Inside the cabin we have the door covered panel that may be leather or some other materiel with form padded Board. If any one wants to add more (STC) only thing is to paste some material to inside of the outer metal side from inside of the door. Sir, Re sound Proofing I want to comment as for my Knowledge this is called Sound Transmission Control (STC). This subject is a very vast subject and there are lot of forums on the web about same. For Automobiles and Buildings. There are meters to test before and after the amount of (STC). I suggest with my Experience to control out side sounds entering inside cabin of a motor Vehicle best is to use Fiber glass Wool sheet which has a thin layer of aluminum foil. Which is freely available in Srilanka used in Air conditioning industry. Paste inside door paneled frames if necessary hood lining also removed remove all seats and original carpets. Paste on to the flow board above said Fiber glass sheet fix all removed units back. Under body there are lot of chemicals petroleum based to apply few coatings something like tar which will dry in few hours. This application must be done when the vehicle is new or after a steam wash as it will stop corrosion also. I have used same on many Vehicles and happy with the performance. Wijesinghe.

Sir, This Forum is meant for Automobiles not to write about Telecommunication system in Srilanka still as this topic had come up. I will write few words about telecommunications of srilanka. I hope members will not find anything wrong about same. SLT once had a Monopoly in Telecommunication system in Srilanka in late 1960's Fujikura of Japan was entrusted to do the microwave system in Srilanka fixing repeater stations in Hatton, Nuwaraeliya, Deniyaya, and Mathale. I did maintenance of their cable testing equipment. Due to this i traveled all above mentioned towns with Mr Otha who had a very good English Knowledge first he was a Customer of mine later we were good friends he is no more in this world I first visited japan with him after completion of the project in 1970. I was very close to Mr, Otha Japanese who was the project director in that project due to close association with him I have a good Knowledge of the Telecommunications system in Srilanka. I am one person who has best Intercommunicating Telecommunication system in my office having ISDN,ADSL, I think person the who said about Dial up that was in 1990s SLT first provided with that technology. Later then the SLT management (JAPS) provided late 1990 with outdated technology ISDN which give end user digital network with two telephone numbers which still I have. In early part of 2000 ADSL was provided at a high cost with very poor speed. We had a Srilanka ADSL forum who complained to TRC at Colombo for SLT cheating Srilankans by advertising high speeds and providing with low speeds of ADSL. TRC had a hearing on their Adutorium inviting Forum members to represent for our ADSL FORUM complain. One Mr, Siriwardana who was highly educated on ADSL forum spokesmen argued the matter with SLT Engineers on that meeting final result was. TRC Administration ordered to do a monitoring of ADSL speed test in 5 different situations with SLT and TRC Engineers to get a Speed matter sorted out. I was asked to monitor for 3 hours at TRC and later another member of the Forum one Mr, Wasanthe Guruge who is a Electronic Engineer took over from me in the afternoon at TRC for next three hours. Later competition came to Telecommunication Industry and lot of new technology's came to Srilanka like Mobitel with dongle give very high download speed I too use same on my lap top.
