  1. You might be able to. look around. We sold a car GL-xxxx for 6.5mn... you could maybe get a 65- or early G series registration of an earlier year. E39 came between 1995 and 2004.
  2. Vigos are ugly. Dont know why so many people go for them! There was a Nissan at a car sale at Mount. US C*R SALE I think.. on Galle Rd. Looked nice... or maybe it was the difference..
  3. I've never owned any of these 3 vehicles but have "associated" with em! 2 of ma relatives had Tributes. Just loved them. the comfort and the pulling. only downside (to my knowledge) was fuel consumption. 5-6 kmpl. Im not sure of the maintainability n parts but its a fun ride. Another relative owned a GDI Turbo. teak steerin n all. luxury. kinda smaller than the Tribute. Tribute is the biggest. but very good on fuel. They were at Gampola and it did 10+ kmpl Gampola to Colombo. smooth ride too. but heard GDI unit goes faulty coz of our bad fuel and then u had it! A colleague at work owned an escudo. Ugly car it was! I dont like the look. Good pulling tho. according to him, said it did 6-7 kmpl. It's smaller than the Tribute rem.. it just didnt have that "oomph" to it!

    Fuel Saver

Admins, dont block Sylvi on the account of the old guy being good fun! :-D Bothering to write all those long essays and all! hehe! very entertaining! Some of the stuff written seem full of saarcasm! Mr.Wijesinghe, dont include names or contact numbers and dont insult members. adhere to the rules and you should be able to entertain us for a long long time! :-D ~Cheers!
  5. Hey all! It's not often that we hear someone owing a sedan wanting to switch to a hatch. That is why I asked. Maybe times are changing. Smaller cars are easier to drive in todays traffic too... And Preveen, I'd prefer a Mercedes C 63 AMG Estate to a Corolla anyday (if I had the money to maintain it!). These are some good hatchbacks out there these days. Saw a registered Suzuki Hatch somewhere on this forum. Not a very pretty car, neither costly but has very good pulling. I had one few years ago... Look around a bit. investigate and tell us what you find.. Cheers!

    Windscreen Repairs

This is some good Sh*t! Seriously enjoying reading this! hehe! I enjoyed the fuel saver thnigy also; the one involving crisco nihal! :-D
  7. Harshan, You do these modification to the lighting system or you have a guy who does this? Im interested in trying this out. About how much does this conversion cost mate?
  8. There certainly is a difference between Jap and Euro rides mate! The BMWs and AUDIs will give you extreme driving pleasure, and also screw you big time at every service!! I could hook you up with something European if you're interested... But for the average Dick out there, an Allion or Corolla would be the best option. Easy running and easy on the purse. If it's company fuel and maintenance (or maybe you aren't an average Dick), then Euro is the way to go!
  9. Already bought NARVA clear bulbs from R*MAL. 450/= each. Seems ok but not the real brightness I expected. Travel outstation often so I' should notice the difference where there is no street illumination. They didnt have philips there. What is this Wattala place called machan? Visited D*MO Duplication road too. The skinny girl with the bright lip gloss said they had only the clear OSRAMS for 750 odd each and that they wouldnt really give extra brightness.. took her word for it!
  10. Dont go for a Vitz, unless it's an RS. You wont enjoy the ride!! I prefer the swift. could get for about 1.6 or 1.7. But why a hatchback?! There are plenty of viable options!
  11. Pump attendent pumped -2 psi first time for me. but when I went for my next top-up, I got him to pump the usual 30psi. Feels better this way.
  12. Apparently I've used Narva before coz had a single bulb in my tool/spares shelf at home. I checked out D*MO duplication rd today. Had OSRAM clear bulbs. each about 750 (bad memory. 700 something anyway). I checked out R*MAL too. Had Narva clear bulbs. each 450. I thought I'll try out the NARVA bulbs for now and we'll see how things go. Anything with the blue lens kinda pisses me off now! ;-)
  13. Never heard of Narva before so I think I'll just stick to looking for Osram or Philips or Tungsten or any of those known brands tomorrow. Keep us updated on your findings and I'll keep you updated on mine! :-) Coming to think of it, I'll most probably have to go on Sunday coz I'm working tomorrow and after 5, everyones gonna be closed! :-S
  14. Thanks dude. Was very informative. According to the site, most major manufacturers have similar performance. Good to hear. Must go hunting for good lamps tomorrow!! BTW, anyone used OSRAM Night Breaker? Is it available in the market here? Coz D*M* doesnt have it!
  15. Thankz for the info! So the brightest light with the longest beam should be around 4500k right? I got a CR42 with serious lighting issues! it's one of those blue coated bulbs from darly rd costing Rs.800 a pair and are total s**t! you just cant drive at night. especially in places where there is no street lighting. I'm a little skeptical about going for the xenon systems out there coz I dont wanna spend Rs 13000+ for a system with a 1 year warranty and watch it burn out in a year and a half!! What could any of you guys recommend? I checked D*M* today and they are out of stock. BTW, they only get down OSRAM Original line and Cool Blue, which I dont think will be that powerful. I dont know. OSRAM seems to be having a bulb called NIGHT BREAKER. Take a look at this link. http://am_application.osram.info/publish/index_en.html . Promises 90% more light on the road! Thats more like it!!
  16. Hi! Could someone plz temme what the difference is beteen 400k, 4700k, 6000k etc. what is this about and how is it related to the 55/60w or 90/100w we generally talk about? what is best recommended?

    N 16 Super Saloon

My sister had a reconditioned Singapore one. Luxury, Comfy n sporty. Leather interior, superb sound system, sporty steering. No real issues I can remember. Only scene was it didnt do too well on fuel. about 8kmpl.
  18. Hi! My first post on Autolanka! :-) I have a CR42 with 205/65/15 tyres and I've pumped Nitrogen and felt the difference. - ride feels alot smoother than before. my tyre size is a lil bigger than recommended so it wasnt giving a very comfortable ride. this improved it. - used to have to check tyre pressure once a week but now the tyres seem to be holding better - steering feels a lil bit looser too.. but maybe itz just in my head! one thing I didnt notice was any visible improvement in fuel consumption. must keep a watch on this. Adios!
