  1. this is no Aston Martin so i wonder what warrants the supposed $50,000 price tag other than the pure novelty value i dont see many takers for this at $50,000
  2. although it looks crazy it seem to be really practical, looking at the top gear vid i wonder if this will ever make it to our roads http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carver_(automobile)
  3. The median salary for a young professional here will be around 1mill to 1.5mill per year, in that sense r there enough political boot licker's and rich business men to buy these 50mill condos i have seen the model apartment at Dawson Grand and although it was good it certainly didnt warrant the 50mill price tag
  4. Jutith r u in someway associated with Havelock Cty, if so please provide more details of the project, the August 2008 initial deadline will be met I figer, not sure if the whole project will be completed by 2012 Dawson Grand seems to be the most expensive of the lot, even a 1 bedroom apartment starts at over US$250,000
  5. I am also wondering who is buying these high end condominiums for example in the Trillium Residences an average 3 bedroom apartment will cost over 300,000USD, which does seem over priced when considering the price of similar apartment complexes in Dubai or KL. Is Havelock City more expensive than Trillium Residences, the other big developments are Dawson Grand, Crescat City and c******o Celestial but there are several more mid-sized complexes also coming up
  6. Does anyone know of the general price structure for apartments at Havelock City, is the whole project on schedule to be completed by 2010 as noted earlier
  7. What abt the Suzuki Alto Japanese version but of course it will be recondition
  8. Sorry to hear abt this mate but what do the senior members think are the better placed to get work like this done in darley road. I havnt had a problem with sun lanka personally
  9. Havelock City is on schedule to my knowledge, you can see the structure clearly now even from galle road and the first stage should be completed by 2008 I think, since its done by the same ppl as the world trade center I think the quality of the project will be up to par
  10. The luxury apartment demand has certainly declined due to the current situation in the country, most apartments complexes have not been completed on time except for the few large players in the market. There will be some bargains in the coming months as it would certainly be a buyers market and I must say I like the idea of Havelock city www.havelockcity.lk a self-contained city at least conceptually does appeal to me
  11. U might want to take a look at the new Terios, should be in your price range brand new
  12. Where r u getting ur info Parak, ive seen a lot of Korean and Japanese SUVs on the road in Australia, not everyone is going to indulge on a BMW X5, so the X-Trail might not look that much but it is great off-road trust me
  13. The above listed are some of the most sought-after models, if u look at sheer numbers it gota be Maruti 800 and alto
  14. What the going price for the Actyon for ppl who dont have permits, is it cheaper than the Kyron
  15. 99 batch mate
  16. Peterites have always had good rugby teams through the years, this year is particular we have had one of the better years with an excellent team
  17. Madmax, whats your take on the Rexton, did u test drive that also?
  18. If u know someone in the US ask them u to buy a high spec dell from ebay and ship it to u here, u will save a bundle guaranteed, the only downside is that most Inspiron models are not being sold by the local agent, but ive been using laptops for over ten years and never have even one of them broken down during the warranty period, like with most electronic gadgets replace within 2 years and u should be ok
  19. It looks like u havent been in a public bus or train recently, if better public transportation was available im sure ppl will use it
  20. Wow this is a great list, thank you for taking the time to compile it; this list would have been very handy earlier this year when me and my cousin looked for a 2nd hand car
  21. Any reason why the agents r not selling the 1500cc model of the Avanza, is it purely a tax issue
  22. I think you should go for a Maruti considering your budget, you should be able to get a fairly good Maruti within your budget
  23. Its good to see the government giving these permits to its Servants, I guess spending over 50cents for each tax Rupee that is collected is just not enough, they should be given low priced cars for their lazy non taxed asses. Pardon me for sounding bitter but anyone who tried to get any constructive work done through a government servant would have experienced this frustration, there seems to be abt 10 ppl for each job that can easily be done by one and those 10 ppl are also clueless in most cases and the sad part is that the general public and the private sector r forced to pay for thee excesses of successive governments

    X-trail

The main issue with regards to the X-Trail is its look, I think most ppl r put off by it, but any word on the Nissan Qashqai being introduced here by the agents
