Hi Friends, The car I have is Toyota Corona - old model, which originally came with powersteering. The issue I had was, in mornings the steering would be really very easy to turn and will not whine. But when you run car for 10 minutes, the steering gets really hard to turn and whines. But when you accelerate to 2000 rpm it gets little easy but whines become louder when turning. Our technician aadvised me to change the powersteering pump and all hoses. I told Ok and he replaced pump and all hoses. But still same issue. In the morning it is very easy to turn in 1000 RPM, but when car gets hot, it is really hard to turn. But as I checked there are NO oil leaks. Now our technician asked to change the power steering rack and shock absorbers. What shall I do? Is there any powersteering oil cooling units in old Japanese vehicles? My car model is Toyota Corona ST150. Tks, Tilvin

In my point of view, diesel engine for small cars like these will cause so many issues, due to its vibration and these charade diesel engines are known for issues. Anyway I am not an expert in these charades and did not use earlier. I think our forum Charade experts will post some info.....

Anyway pls check with RMV guys....For money sometimes in Sri Lanka, they might issue Chinese letters..... But if they do, I am pretty sure that there are people who will get those paying.....

Did I tell you that I am going to do that way? Why you are assuming things and talking? My actual plan is restore and use it. And I know it will cost around 1 million for the body work and engine repair only. So I asked in the forum, whether it is worth going for restoration or go for a good conditioned one, by asking the bottom (Not fancy....) price for a good condition one?

Hi Friends, Pls assist me regarding this. Normally around how much 31 Sri hard top BJ40s going on without powersteering and AC? Because I browse through some ads and saw from 1 million to 2 million(Both with nego tag....) But actually how much in reality these Jeeps can be sold quickly? I mean bottom price? Because before spending for restoration, we need a rough idea.....Tks.....

Hi Friends, One of my uncle have Toyota BJ40 - Hard Top Jeep that was not looked after around 5 years - Currently not in starting condition and it is almost 5 years in same place in rain and sunlight. He is having some plan to restore it. Will it worth restoring it? And what is the actual market price of a jeep in best condition? Thanks....

Hi Guys, One of my cars, Toyota Corona ST150 windscreen was cracked due to the stone thrown by some guys who was playing in the street side. It was happened just by mistake. Where I can find the windscreen for this old model? Approximately how much will it cost with new windscreen and labor cost? Also is it possible to repair using resin or something (In some net articles I found....)? Pls assist. Tks....

Thanks Sylvi Uncle for the advise I showed this to a good EFI technician. He told that it is not matter with size or shape and the important part is the 3 pin input type. He said that Micro MPV Van uses similar pack. Where I can find Micro Van Spares? Is it selling in Panchikawatte shops or company only? Thanks....

As I checked the internet Kia Sportage 2.0L also uses the similar coil. But when I checked Ajantha motors they do not have stocks....

Hi friends, I have a pretty rare model car - Hindustan Ambassador Classic MPFI petrol which comes with Ignition Coil - 0221503407(Three Pins Model). I searched Panchikawatte and Nugegoda side and could not find one. Are we having any shop who rewinds the ignition coil? Also will it possible? I have attached the picture of the coil. Pls assist.

All happened quickly. Due to the Windows closed, I could not hear the engine sound and it collapsed in few seconds.....Meantime approximately after which year manufactured vehicles were introduced rev limiter?. This is just only to get approximate idea.

Hi Guys, I am planning to buy an automatic diesel Toyota Camry CV30 or Toyota Vista (Manufactured in 1990-1992). Is these vehicles come up with RPM limiter safety? Because I had an issue with one of the old vehicles I had, which unfortunately complete engine damaged due to the accelerator spring stuck expanded. Due to that we have to spend on full engine overhaul.... So this time I am searching for an automatic with RPM limiter.

Hi Friends, I have an Indian Ambassador Petrol - MPFI injection - 2003 model. There was an throttle body spring issue and rpm not increasing when AC on. After writing a topic about that issue, I got many advises from you all guys and brought the car to an expert M#r#o. He looked at the car and told there was a tuning issue and after around a weeks time he did the job with a fancy charge of 11k (May be thinking it as Montero or Prado.....) and told now every thing seems Ok. Next day morning car did not start at all and misfiring a lot and AC clutch was clicking on and off. So went to him and told the issue. He sent a person and they increased the idle rpm to AC click on level. Anyway the original throttle spring stcking issue and AC idle up issue did not get solved. So I brought the car back to him. He put another small spring to the trottle body with the primary one and gave the car back. After that the spring sticking issue partially disappeared but with sticking some times when the temp goes up. We ran about 900km. One day the car did not start at all. So I thought, it was something with tuning. So I went and talk with him. He sent a person. Since they could not start the car at all, they towed to their garage. After analysing he now tells, the ignition coil and spark plug wire set needs to be changed to start the car. This is the coil. Ignition Coil - 0221503407(Three Pins Model) I searched all over Sri Lanka. It seems it will cost around 18K. As I searched some Internet found it is used by some Korean cars as well. Is there any good place I can find a recondition or used one around 6k. Because I feel my car is not that worth to spend !!!! I have attached the picture for your reference. Thanks, Titus

Hi Friends, My car is Hindustan ambassador - petrol - MPFI(multi point fuel injection model). It was running OK, but there was a strong smell of petrol from the exhaust, so I brought the car to an EFI tuning centre some where around AtulKotte. He removed the injectors, throttle body and did something. Replaced 4 new spark plugs, new petrol filter. After the tuneup done, when I bring the car back home, it started to accelerate when press the accelerator pedal and did not get release. So drove back to him. He again removed the throttle body and told that throttle spring tension is not good and it could not release properly. He suggested that the throttle spring and throttle plate needs to be replaced and asked to import these spares from India, since not available here.... And did some temporary adjustments to the spring and gave. Now when A/C is put on and runninng around 3KM, the car starting to accelarate...... After running for some time with A/C and when switch off the A/C, the car is accelarating high and rough idling. There coming a strong burning odor from engine bay. It would be really helpful, if you could suggest me a good home visiting technician who have knowledge in EFI repairs and idle air control issues? Thanks in advance, Titus

Dear Friends, I am new to this forum. My uncle lives in UK. Is it possible to import a used car from UK to Sri lanka?. If possible, what are the importing rules enforced in Lanka. 1. What is the age of the vehicle we can import? 2. If the vehicle is around 1M LKR there, how much tax will be imposed here. Pls assist, as I am new to this forum.......
