  1. It's the net and technical difficulties do occur sometimes, and besides as his was one last as submitted, it'd be around the top when AL ads come back up He's going to have it up longer too, unlike a newspaper which we throw away. And AL isn't down a lot like that, just a rare unfortunate occurrence I'd say, and we, buyers, are also missing it.
  2. Do tell us how it was After all I heard about the Colombo Motor Show, didn't feel like going for this either... PS - It's really hard to load threads or post in AL now Peri, timeout errors, anything you guys can do?
  3. Hmmm, DP but dunno how, it wasn't there before.
  4. @autoking - On the contrary, we had a 97 Tercel 1.3L 4spd manual Joinus model, and that had good pulling power and nice acceleration, and IMO better than a Starlet (personally dislike hatchbacks) and same engine along with more space. And the really light weight less than 800kg for this specific car is good on econ too. Was stable at high speeds though, and felt more powerful at the top end with the cat removed. Don't know why people dislike it though, most econ car we ever had. Sold for 1.2M, GK- plates. Interior wasn't that comfortable, but no complaints.
  5. Use this for now mate - http://hondatech.info/downloads/Auto/Manuals/ I didn't check on the EK3, but most are common.

    Great Street Race

That's great for people who're lucky to own a GT-R, performance of a Veyron for one fifth the price

    Great Street Race

Veyron with two fat guys ~2200kg? GT-R possibly one guy (no camera) at ~1715kg?

    Great Street Race

    It's a damn powerful GT-R after all... 800+ whp at <1635kg. Switzer P800 Nissan GT-R
  9. You mean a family sedan with a AE110+Maruti 800 under the hood? @hiranthak - Have fun with an EK3!
  10. Saying sports maybe an overstatement, but I sure would say sporty when compared to the others. PS - evergreen, what type are they? Fully or semi? Thanks for the info btw! Thus far knew that gen to have trailing twist beam type.
  11. Ah ok, well that's nice to know My family knows the former owner but not me unfortunately. And as for the Carina GT (pale green?) and all, so that's why some good cars keep on popping up in our drive And yea he doesn't seem to keep for long. Addition to that, seen a green Impreza, another blue one, a Cedia, a red EK with smoke lenses etc.? Thanks for the tip btw!
  12. I wouldn't say the same about the EK3... If just the average family sedan, it doesn't need a 130hp engine nor heavy and expensive double wishbone suspension, would it? From ES onwards, yes that's true cuz they made it kinda inferior to the EK IMO. And afaik, both the Integra and Civic used similar suspension setups, and the former is known as one of the best FF cars in the world if I'm not mistaken?
  13. I thought you guys were speaking about the beam multi link suspension on Nissans (even R34 seems to have that, but independent instead of beam) vs. double wishbones on EK3s? Could you please elaborate on this thing? I think even the 110 has the same, though FB15 was by far the most comfortable of the three, and looks the best for me (prefer EG over EK on looks) PS - 110 seems to have similar suspension as the FB15, beam type, though I'm not sure if it's multi link for the 110. 114 had a beam suspension, but same as front. But new Toyota's seem to have multi link at back and McPherson struts in front.
  14. Yeah, funny it is and I was stunned to see that there But the sad thing is that it seems to be mostly kept at home, safely in the garage, and a March for everyday use. Atleast that'd keep it in good condition If it hopefully doesn't crash like that poor blue STi, maybe, one day... Hmm, on the steep side for me right now. But that's way better than that wierd blue EG6 which was 2M. Thanks btw! So you reckon that's cheaper or converting your car to a B16A? PS - Was previous owner Ch*m*nd* W**r*s*ngh* by any chance?
  15. I'm sorry to dig up an age old thread but just was interested, cuz after all the searching I could do, accidently met up with the white SiR with HS- plates which is supposed to be in Kandy, and suddenly became a rare sighting from a few months. Never knew the guy above my house had bought it and I lived 2 months or so just 50m from it , but he ain't selling it, atleast not right now, so thought of asking what are the choices left? So is EK3 to SiR a worthwhile conversion guys?? Searched but no one seems to state the rough price for an SiR now, so I've no idea either, could anyone tell? Is it less expensive to convert an EK3 or buy an EK4 straight? @RLan - Could you tell more about the SiRs, Integra's, VZRs, P11s that you checked please? And rough price figures? I know performance cars usually have a worse market here cuz of the bad fuel consumption problem...
  16. That's what you want?
  17. Newer Sprinter?

    Honda

ES2 is the Japanese 1.5L 4WD model. Not sure of availability in SL. ET2 is the JDM 1.7L 4WD model, never seen either so far.
  19. Hey Davy, sorry about that cuz felt that 2 years was a bit too long for that anyway Btw, seniors normally welcome, I'm also new here, but you're welcome anyway.
  20. Call St*ff*rd, get CIF price. You'll get in Yen, multiply that by the current conversion rate. Multiply the Rs. amount by 0.7, and then multiply by 1.18, you get the rough tax. Use these if you don't get it. http://www.customs.g...k/mv/mvpg01.pdf http://www.customs.g...ews/VEHICLE.pdf http://www.customs.g...k/mv/mvpg03.pdf Been asked many times, search please. PS - Aria
  21. Figures published by BMW - E46 M3 -- 0-100km/h (Manual) 4.7s, (SMG) 4.9s E92 M3 -- 0-100km/h (Manual) 4.7s, (M-DCT) 4.5s Same speed with more power due to weight difference. Therefore, new sport type are generally better, so a normal car manumatic can't normally match manual. Though that would depend on the driver too. EDIT - I don't know if this is any use but check anyway http://www.uklegacy.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=96513 Factory 0-100km/h is supposed to be 5.9s for manual. Couldn't find manumatic speed, sorry.
  22. There are too many limitations with the gift permit, and can't even import anything more than 1.6L or so as I know. And got to find a relation who had worked abroad for some amount of time and prove this much money was sent and so on... If desperate for an old and got resources, yeah, upto 5 years normally. Or maybe 10 if you're lucky?
  23. Err dude, wasn't this a two year old thread? I'm sure they'd have done a bit more than just sit around and wait
  24. Nice one VVTi What don't you get in that thread amad? And as VVTi said, I don't think it's possible to get any worthwhile car which is less than 3.5 years and RHD for $3000. And your tax won't be based on that value anyway. Ex: I was offered a Honda Accord Euro 2007 CL7 model with 2L engine for $4700, while normally they're around $10k, cuz the guy didn't want it and moved to a LHD country. Even though it's a real bargain, tax will be very high, cuz they don't tax value we bought at. So afaik, the new tax with the 10% reduction which happened last should be 135% of CIF value (I have older tables after 50% reduction). CIF means the Price of the vehicle (Cost) + Insurance charge (I) + Shipping charge (Freight). If we gave cost, it'd have been very nice, but we don't. In this case, I called St*ff*rd M*t*rs and asked, was told CIF is roughly 2 million Rs. That gives tax of ~2.7M Rs (3M if 10% doesn't apply). So total when clearing would cost around: $4700 real cost + $1000 (not Japan) for I/F = 6.5 lakhs for bringing here + taxes 27-30 lakhs = 33.5-36.5 lakhs. That's just a very rough estimate to give you the idea, more expenses will be there here and there. This may be hard to understand, but so are the customs website and many threads on it too, due to non centralized nature of info. But nevertheless, there IS a lot of info there, you can't deny that.
  25. Tiptronic, SportShift, Sportshift all have torque converters so fall into auto transmission type Confirm wth http://www.smartcaro...ed-manual-1345/ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Manumatic Calling everything Tiptronic is not exactly correct cuz that's a trade name of Porsche.
