Pics look very good Schiffer.. Wish you were here to visit Forney Transportation Museum too. There were many many old cars, Bikes, Trucks, Trains with very good condition. I was only able to capture few bcos i went with my 3 yr old (You know 3 yr olds always up to disaster..). Anyways anyone who can come to Denver CO USA and who really like classics this is a great place to visit. Link - http://www.forneymuseum.org/ Kmeeg.

Hi All, I took some photos at Forney Transportation Museum in Denver CO, USA. Photos are not that good since i only took a telephoto lens and there is not much space to use a telephoto lens. Did not take my camera bag as they do not allow to take any bags. But hope you guys will like photos of old cars. Link - http://www.flickr.com/photos/kasunmeegahapola/sets/72157642830712704/ Kmeeg.

May be you have to go to Un*m@. B'cos Viva / Viva Elite data port is not OBD2. So most of the diagnostic places wont be able to check the issue. May be Un*m@ have diagnostic for Viva. (Not sure, thats what i think.) I had a OBD2 scanner but did not work for Viva. But that port exactly matched the OBD2 scanner but did not give any reading.. But as Sampath said it would be helpful to check the battery terminals. Kmeeg.

Those who are looking for Speedlite here is a small tip - I bought couple of cheap Yongnuo YN468 II I-TTL Flash Speedlite for Nikon for $76 each and works great. It work great as off camera flash with commander mode. This is available for both Canon and Nikon. I was even able to use them with my Sony point and shoot camera. Only problem i have so far was the spring for defuser broke but still manage to pull it and close. I bought them in July last year and still works. I used it with nikon D3200 and now with Nikon D610 works great to-date. Tip when using with point and shoot - Switch the speedlite mode to slave, select flash mode in point and shoot camera some thing like 'Backlight mode' or some thing. You will get good images even at low light with low ISO on your point and shoot. If normal flash mode is used your pics will be darker. Hope this helps..

Thanks for the tip. I never checked Digital Rev store. i was only watching their videos. Looks like thier prices are generally. cheap.. But sometimes Rakuten might be cheaper. Look at below example; Nikon 70-200 F2.8 VRII Best buy - $ 2399.99 Mikes Camera - $ 2399.99 Adorama - $2396.95 Allens camera - $2396.95 B&H Photo - $2396.95 Cameta - $2396.95 Digital Rev - $2249.00 - http://www.digitalrev.com/product/nikon-af-s-nikkor-70/NzQwNA_A_A Rakuten - $2127.39 - http://www.rakuten.com/prod/nikon-70-200mm-f-2-8g-ed-vr-ii-af-s-nikkor-zoom-lens-for-nikon-digital/228763000.html Anyways thanks for the Info.. I will check on Digital Rev too when buying something..

Best buy do price match with B&H too. Only bad thing is u have to pay tax. But peace of mind if there is any issue. I normally do price match with Rakuten.com. They give great deals. All the time after paying tax also i get some good price. Even they do this for online orders. I did the same thing for my 70-200 f2.8 lens. I did price match with rakuten.com When u buy check the prices from all sellers in Best buy low price guarantee list. On top of that u get gift certificates for the point u get on each purchase. When u are a Elite+ customer you get more points per purchase.. KMeeg..

I guess it would be very helpful for those how are waiting to buy their next Canon DSLR if you could share a link where they can purchase a Canon 5D Mark III brandnew for $2400. That would be a great deal for them.. This is what i found for now - Canon 6D wt 24-105mm - Regular Price: $2,499.99 Price - I normally buy from Bestbuy as they price match with many other sites like Amazon - http://www.bestbuy.com/site/eos-6d-digital-slr-camera-with-24-8211105mm-f-4l-is-lens/6776249.p?id=1218807858712&skuId=6776249&st=canon%206d&cp=1&lp=1

I believe its rare.. Even though there is traction and stability control its no match for snow (but sure helps than old cars with no traction and stability control). Specially when you have a RWD car you need to have lot of talent to tackle snow. AWD & FWD are a little easy to drive on snow. But i believe M3 and M5 might have a snow mode as some cars have. Place i live (Denver,CO) its pretty tough to have a RWD car as its snows comparatively alot. So ppl preffer to buy AWD cars. (It even snows today..!! damn..!!) Anyways, all i wanted to know was how good M3 handles snow. And to know if it has any special modes for snow as they are purely built to speed.. I do love to own a 4 door M3 / M5 (some day, may be if i win a lottery) Update - Also want to let you guys know that looks like even the hyundai accent comes with traction and stability control as a standard option. Link - https://www.hyundaiusa.com/accent/safety.aspx And lastly a photo i found on Florida snow -

Congratz bro.. Let me know how M3 doing on snow.. Can i get a job in ur office so i also can buy M3 or M5..

Should open 'Photolanka' too to discuss this. I was recently arguing with my friends about Sony cameras too. On point and shoot cameras i believe Sony rx 100 ii is way over other point and shoot cameras. Also in DSLRs Sony is picking fast. Eg - Sony Alpha A99 a full frame camera. Also sony offers almost similar to Nikon and Canon Lens range. Anyways, i don't think most of the auto fans like discussing this topic in Autolanka. But it was nice to have a discussion. Let me know if there is an option for Sri Lankan photography lovers to get together, learn and discuss. Or if you guys have a group in flickr or something i can join. Kmeeg.

Yes yes.. i agree Canon would be of good quality.. Just gave a cheaper option..
-
Hi Schiffer, I know i'm new to photography but hope this helps. The reason i started Nikon was it was cheap. I got my first camera Nikon D3200 + 18-55mm for just $399 (including shipping and tax). I don't think you can get a new stater Canon camera for this price. Also i bought my first Fullframe body Nikon D610 in Nov last year at $1800. And i did most of the family photos with Nikon 50mm 1.8g which only cost around $200.. I believe Fullframe Canon 6D would be around $2400. What i wanted to tell was if you do photography as a hobby like me Nikon might be cheaper but might not be quality as Canon. But i'm not sure about it since i have not compared my self and what my Canon friends told me. (Just my thought and might be wrong). Hope this helps.. Kmeeg.
-
100% Agreed.. They even modified and repaired 1987 KE72 A/C. I was very happy about the quality of their work..
-
OMG..!! Those are awesome pics.. On top of that u were using 18-55mm lens without flash. Thats pure talent.. Hope i can go to a autoshow someday keeping my wife and daughter at home who has no interest in cars..

Ya.. I've seen ppl say "heard it vignette but never seen. Better to use thin filter. " in some forums when I search in google. I checked sample images from pixel peeper and it was awesome did not notice vignette in those pics. The reviews i watched on youtube claimed that 24-70 has some vignette but not 70-200 (Watched videos from Digitalrev, That Nikon guy, etc..). That’s why 70-200 was selected with Hoya HD2 to protect the front element. But in reality the lens does not seem to be that 'awesome'.. Also I have set camera settings to Vignette control H on D610. Hope that is the right setting to use. (I just started photography as a hobby so don't know much about this things)..

Have any one experienced Vignetting with Nikon 70-200 F2.8 VR II? I see some vignetting (See top left on sample pic).. Not sure bcos its the filter, but its Hoya HD2 which is comparatively a thin filter.. Anyone has same issue? Sample Pic - https://www.flickr.com/photos/kasunmeegahapola/13182872785/ KMeeg..

I had a reason to apply hand-break while gear shift on 'P'. Had a Ford Explorer and if i just put gear shift on 'P' on a down hill / up hill it rolls as it slips the gears on 'P'. (If you stay inside a while you will feel the gear slipping while on 'P'. So had to apply hand-break (in Ford Explorer its kind of foot-break - where the parking break should be apply by your foot).. I guess it would be expensive to fix the gear slipping issue on 'P' as i might had to change the whole gear box.. So hand-break would be the cheaper option.. So if you don't know if this kind of issue could happen its safer to apply hand break while your gear shift on "P". But how about towing scenario. Suppose you have a FWD vehicle and you apply only gear shift on "P". If they tow your car from front you will not have much damage right.? KMeeg..

Some of the pics i've taken - http://www.flickr.com/photos/kasunmeegahapola/ Also have a look at these pics - http://www.flickr.com/groups/carphotography/ Quick question to "Magnum" : Is that pic of the moon taken at 300mm (eql to 35mm format)? Very nice and clean..!! Rgs, KMeeg..

I think Corolla Dx wagon (KE72) is a type of car you come across many of "mee car eka vikunana wada?" when you park.. I believe the owners of KE72 would agree with me.. Surely KE72 is a reliable car, easy on your pocket when it comes to maintenance, a little not too good on fuel compared to modern cars with VVT, etc.. (around 9KMPL in town, some times 8 with 1.3L 4speed KE72). Most spares easy to find but some with help of eBay.. When it comes to A/C, no probs at all if you maintain properly and do repairs with a reputed place.. But not good as a brandnew car to be honest, since the beadings on doors get old and the cold tend to leak and also the glasses in KE72 are normal glasses unlike modern cars that reduces UV and solar heat.. (But u can to a 3M christaline tint which does all that UV cut and solar heat reduction and still not spoil the original look, but will cost you around 40K (Remember KE72 has lot of glasses, since its a station wagon).. Hey Jaliya.. Did you meet my KE72 mechanic? Hope he helped you with ur requirements.. Cheers, KMeeg.
