  1. Awesome... just awesome!
  2. No offence to Defender owners, but arn't most Defenders in Sri Lanka driven by fools? Sort of makes you wonder whether the Defender badge on the vehicle is code for "I own the road" over here.
  3. I don't think it's an April Fools prank Peri. Read the article and my personal opinion is that the customers are getting a pretty good deal because Tesla has actually offered them a 60 kWh version of the model S (by applying software restrictions to simulate the 40 kWh version). But the car will be more powerful since it's got the 60 kWh versions' components inside, that is a huge bonus from a customer's perspective. Just my 2 cents.
  4. This is gotta be the first time I've seen a car being painted inside a toilet. lol
  5. Wish you a very happy birthday miniace!

  7. Oh how I was taken up after seeing the start of this thread! The famous sinhala saying "Balla piduru kanneth naa - Kana gonaata denneth naa" just came into my mind. Sorry about the situation Jadey, but I'm just glad it happened before you actually started work on the car.
  8. That's one crazy dude... WoW on the effort and the patience!
  9. We already have a thread to discuss about nicknames for cars in SL: http://forum.autolanka.com/topic/2336-nick-names-for-cars-in-sl/

Manuals are there machang, not that difficult to find. There are a couple on AL as well right now. I had the priviledge of driving a manual once and it was the only occasion on which I have actually driven an EX. And man, it was an amazing feeling. If I am to upgrade now, it would definitely be an EX. I want to wake up one day, walk to the garage and see this... looking right back at me:

Yeah, I guess Harry may have bought his CS1 brand new and must be saying out of his experience back in the day. Since the CS series has been in SL for quite some time now (over 10 years), reconditioned parts are all over the place. This probably will be the case for the Ex in a few years. Some day trinity... Some day.
  13. Found the answer, but I cheated. So I'll give someone else the chance. Edit: By the way, do we have these in Sri Lanka? I've never seen one for real.
  14. As H.C has stated above, I don't see how LED number plate lights can make you "sick". On most cars, the actual bulbs are hidden and you can only see that the number plate area is illuminated by LEDs.

The Ex never came with a 1.3L engine mate...
  16. That's a good way to avoid issues like this I guess. Once they hook up the car to their computer, it's just a matter of reading and responding, so it shouldn't be that difficult to handle.
  17. That obvious huh? Correct! Take the floor iRage.
  18. Try this mates...

Watched it last night. It was great! That Cadillac looked liked it needs a little bit of work, but what a machine!

    Seat Shaking Sound..

Sounds like you have a very minor issue with the seats that you can fix yourself. The main thing is to isolate the points at which the seat has excessive free play. If you tightened the bolts that anchor the seat to the floor board of the car, then that's probably not where the seat is rattling at. Since it's very difficult to work on other area of a seat while they're still inside your car, I suggest you take the seat outside the car, flip it over and rest it on a chair and try to determine what the loose ends are. You might have to strike the seat a couple of times with your hand to get to know where the issue is at. If I am to point you to some locations you should look closely into: 1. The adjusting mechanisms that bring your seat back and forward (and height adjustment if available). A lot of cotter pins and lock washers are there, so a lot of room for free play when they wear out. 2. The railings (or guides) on which the seat moves back and forth. The small wheels that run on the railing might be worn out or damaged. 3. The hinges at which the back rest is fixed to the base of the seat. Again, cotter pins and lock washers make room for rattle. If you notice anything broken or worn out (a bush or a spring or something), I suggest you take the car to some place that works specifically on seats (upholsters, seat workshops), they should be able to repair the seats for you. Hope this helps. Good luck!

The ABS sensor being faulty is a known issue. And the thread below has been concluded when you yourself have mentioned that Mitsubishi (UniMo) has identified this being an issue with their sensor and that they replaced it. Correct me if I'm wrong. http://forum.autolanka.com/topic/9021-lancer-ex-abs-sensor/ While I respect your opinion because you have first hand experience on both cars, I like to factor out resale value out of the equation because, 1. The Ex is still relatively new and is being adopted by the market. 2. People are reluctant to buy a second hand Ex when they have the option of buying a brand new from the agent, with warranty. For me, the definition of reliability is "not letting me down". Repairs and maintenance is expected from any car upto a level where you are not frustrated with it. I like to think that you were not frustrated with the Lancer Ex at the point of sale. I'd rather spend my hard earned money to buy something that I love to drive (thinking from the heart) versus something that is easier to sell (thinking from the brain).

I can't believe I just read that... Q: What is the most economical? A: The Lancer Q: What is the most comfortable? A: The Lancer Q: What handles better? A: The Lancer Q: What looks better? A: The Lancer (stating the obvious I guess, but this is my opinion) But... Q: What car would you rather keep? A: The Corolla Sad but true. What a country we live in... Edit: OP, you might want to have a look at this thread as well: http://forum.autolanka.com/topic/13761-mitsubishi-lancer-cy2a-opinions/?hl=cy2a
  25. If you're passing Wadduwa on your way to Colombo, check out Eur0nipp0n and US C@r P@rts as well. Eur0nipp0n has another branch at Mahabage, if at all you're coming along the Colombo - Negombo road. Delkanda would be your best bet though, as CJ5 has stated above.
