  1. For starters, I suggest you get a tune-up done since you're not sure when one was done previously. Make sure you get the injectors cleaned, spark plugs cleaned/replaced and a diagnostic scan done as part of the process. I doubt a broken transmission mount can cause issues with pulling power. The front and rear gearbox mounts give way on the CS Lancer at about 100,000km. It's a good idea to replace both as soon as possible because the excessive "roll" of the engine will cause the gel mount (on the driver side of the engine) to go bad as well. And that mount is really expensive.
  2. How long ago since the last fuel system clean-up (tune-up) was done? What's the mileage of the car?
  3. lol. I was tempted to edit the photo and put a Hiace peeking from behind that cabin and ask iRage "How did you miss this?".
  4. Pretty cheap for that kind of specs. Cyanogen is pretty stable now, although I have had problems with the earlier version (v11) on my OnePlus One. All issues were solved when I updated to v12. Their support to OnePlus seem to have suffered after OnePlus switched to their own OS (Oxygen OS). I'm waiting until a stable version is released for the OnePlus One. I got a OnePlus X for my wife recently and the OS is the best I've seen so far - apart from Nexus phones.
  5. Yes, totally agreed Rumesh. A good fuel system clean-up goes a long way though. This is why it doesn't hurt to do a "tune-up" as part of an initial diagnosis of most EFI problems. Especially the ones that cannot be diagnosed through a scan. In this case, OP is lucky because the ECU has identified an issue and indicated it through the "Check Engine" light.
  6. I completely forgot about it. Will send it to you as well. Yes, that's the one.
  7. I doubt the airbag mechanism is affected simply because a wheel alignment is done. But if your steering wheel needed to be disconnected from the power steering rack for some reason, it might have freely spun because they didn't lock the steering before disconnecting it. If this happened, the clock spring mechanism (ribbon) might have been damaged as tuner88 said above. On vehicles with a driver's airbag, it is absolutely critical to lock the steering wheel when a front suspension repair is being done. The airbag, horn etc. on the steering are connected to the column through a clock spring which can only spin a few times in either direction (with the steering wheel). This means even the slightest misalignment of the steering and the rack can cause damage to the ribbon when the steering reaches full lock. You should take your car to a good mechanic and have them inspect the clock spring and connectors. If the clock spring is damaged, then it will have to be replaced. Repair is not recommended. Please note that this is just one possibility - and the most likely.
  8. Get your car scanned. The error code that resulted in the "Check Engine" light will still be saved in the engine ECU error log. This is the starting point of your diagnosis. Based on the error, further action can be taken.
  9. You don't have to shift for the shift lock to engage or disengage. Simply pressing the brake pedal disengages the lock. Letting go of the brake pedal engages the lock, so that the shifter can't be moved out of P. The noise you're hearing is most probably this mechanism switching on and off. EDIT: Just checked the CVT workshop manual for the Lancer EX (shared here. Look for the document named GR00004800-23A.pdf), and it looks like the shift interlock mechanism is operated by a cable (on some vehicles this is operated by a solenoid). The mechanism is pretty straightforward and it might be that yours just needs adjustment. The cable is a spring-adjustable one.
  10. I believe this is coming from the shift lever locking mechanism. In order to move the lever out of the "P" position, the ignition should be ON and the brake pedal should be pressed. It is when both these conditions are met that the shifter is unlocked. This is done to prevent damage to the transmission. While there can be a slight click heard from the centre console, a loud noise is not acceptable IMO. My advice is to take your car to a mechanic (or better, UniMo) and have it checked. There is a small spring that keeps the latch in place and it might have come off.
  11. Good point. I'm not sure whether the iST comes with EPS, but if it does, then a loose battery terminal also can be the issue.
  12. Can we please continue this discussion in your other thread? http://forum.autolanka.com/topic/17445-car-roguh-idle This is a duplicate thread.
  13. Welcome to the forum! Your drive belt must be slipping. This causes the power steering pump, alternator etc. to stop working momentarily. Probably why your radio also went off. Make sure you get the belt inspected for wear and get the belt tightened properly if the belt is still good. If the belt is worn out, you will have to replace it. Simple job.
  14. Toyota Sera?
  15. A fuel system clean-up (commonly referred to as a tune-up) is a basic step of the diagnosis. Doing one helps eliminate possible causes for the issue. Therefore I don't think this was an incorrect thing to do. In Schiffer's case we could safely exclude the fuel system because a tune-up had been done.
  16. Fair enough. I wasn't aware about the hybrid difference.<br /> OP should try C0l0nial as well. From what my father is saying, he is really satisfied with how they work on the Demio. And that's not even a car that's brought down by any Mazda agent I think (the Mazda 2 DE). But they do have spares, undertake servicing and repairs.
  17. You can find the manual in this thread: http://forum.autolanka.com/topic/9732-lancer-service-manuals-available-here/ Look for the FM42 manual transmission manual. Fluid levels, service intervals are all in the manual.
  18. Are you kidding me? Axela is the JDM version of the Mazda 3 and should be pretty similar. There are enough and more places to get the Axela serviced and repaired. C@r M@rt has lost their game after C0l0nial stepped in. They seem to offer better service than C@r M@rt. There are many other places like Mazna @ Pepiliyana that does Mazda specific repairs - Axela included. Not sure whom your friend contacted, but the "service engineer" doesn't seem to know about their own brand. Search the forum for more info. The Axela has been discussed many times.
  19. Yes I do. And I will.
  20. I sure do machan. That's the day we did the Katunayake Expressway run. I also got the transmission oil changed at about 90,000km (@HashanJay, mine was a CS3, but same transmission) because I felt like the car had a problem shifting down to 2nd gear. It was sorted after the oil change.
  21. I remember the workshop manual saying 100,000km. Check it out in the manuals thread. The oil is SAE 90. The "W" specification is irrelevant in Sri Lanka.
  22. You can check this yourself. The port should be located under the dashboard (close to the steering column most probably). I think the Nissan OBD1 port has 14 pins whereas the OBD2 is a generic 16 pin port.
  23. Glad you got the issue sorted out Schiffer. 10k is pretty reasonable.
  24. Can you please share a photo of the exact place that this is leaking from?
  25. Procedure: - Strip the interior (seats, carpets, dashboard, upholstery etc.) and exterior (windscreens, trims, lights, badges etc.) components. For a proper job, the engine bay will also need to be emptied, so that the bay can be painted. - Do body work (repair rust, straighten out panels) - Prepare the body for paint (this will involve sanding down the old paint so that the new primer/paint will stick properly. Doesn't have to be stripped to bare metal IMO). Then prime the body. - Apply paint and clear coat. - Re-attach all components - Do initial polish (a final polish will need to be done after a month or so) Legal issues: - You need to change the car registration with the new colour. For this you will have to submit a "Change of Particulars" form to the DMV. I believe the form is CMT 72 which can be downloaded from here. Search the forum for more info. Problems for insurance: - There shouldn't be any. However, you will have to submit the car for inspection at the insurance company, so that they can update their database with the new appearance of the vehicle.
