They do small jobs like steering wheel wraps as well. So there's a good chance that they will accept yours. Worth a try anyway. Prices are a bit on the high side I'm told, but they're work is supposed to be top notch. Let us know how it goes. Good luck!

Hey tiv, have you tried Deans on Havelock road? I remember Komi getting the exact kinda thing done for his Integra from them. You should be able to find contact details on the forum.

Replacing is what I would advise. Honestly, I think the body coloured door handles (which came originally with the car) are better looking. But that's just me. Remove the chrome door handle covers and see if you think it looks better without them. Darley road as the others have mentioned. I remember repeatedly seeing them advertised on H!TAd and the magazine that comes with the Sunday Observer. As for the gear lever bezel, try places like Euron!ppon, US C@r P@rts and even shops in Delkanda area. The guy wants to remove the scratches from the plastic parts, not scratch them even more. The door handles and even the gear lever bezel are plastic parts with a thin layer of chrome applied which can easily flake off or get scratched if the wrong stuff is used on them. Brasso, Compound, SuperCut and water sand paper are all too abrasive on chrome plated plastic. There are polishes specifically made for polishing these kind of surfaces if at all OP should be recommended a product.

Welcome to the forum! That looks like a door handle cover which has been fixed over the body-coloured door handles. That deep scratch is not repairable I guess, so if you really want them to look good, you can buy a new set of door handle covers. They should be available in Panchikawatte or even eBay. As for the gear lever bezel, I don't see any damage/scratch marks there.

You can get it checked by the agents themselves and I believe they will not charge for checking it. In the mean time, you can get a quote for parts and labour from them. I'd advise you to go for genuine parts for the job, so parts alone will cost you about Rs. 30,000 I guess.

Short answer is "Yes". More info here. Question 15. Thanks for not opening a new thread for this.

I totally agree, no actor/actress can beat the original ones in T1/T2. Linda Hamilton was a such a great actress, she was one tough cookie compared to her role in T1. I very much like to see Michael Biehn return in some form. Altogether I like to see a reunion but that’s probably not going to happen. I’m looking forward to see Genisys in a 3D Cinema. Imo whatever said and done 2D/3D or 4D nothing can beat the masterpiece: T2 Judgment Day Ah the scene just before they stop for fuel and head to Enrique's place. I always liked Sarrah Connor's narrations throughout the movie. So meaningful and narrated with a lot of emotion. Hit me hard when I was a kid. The thumbs up by the Terminator as he was lowered into the liquid steel just broke me apart - many times. As for Michael Biehn, Not sure he will be back in the series. I thought Jai Courtney did a really good job as Kyle Reese in Genisys. lol. Not her fault entirely. Kyle spooked her.

100,000km as per the manufacturer. If you're not the first owner and if you are uncertain of the history of the car before you, then I'd advise you to get the timing belt thoroughly inspected at least. I wouldn't say wait, because my timing belt showed minor symptoms of wear at 92,000km so I got it changed anyway, despite the mech telling me that it can be used a bit more. If you're going for an inspection, you will need to replace it if any of the following are true. - If the belt is too shiny on the out side and if you scratch the belt with your fingernail, it does not leave a mark. - Any form of crack (outer surface, bases of teeth, side of belt) - Abnormal wear (side of the belt or teeth) - Missing teeth You should also check the pulleys for excessive play. EFI? Carburettor? How many kms has the car done since your last tune-up?

Mitsubishi Lancer A72 (Tube Light / Flat Light)
Davy replied to aakyl4ever's topic in Feedback & Suggestions
We have quite a few A72 threads and some of your questions are actually answered in them. Will share the links as I answer your questions. The versions, model numbers and unique features to identify original lancer flat light / tube light models ?http://forum.autolanka.com/topic/12056-for-old-lancer-lovers/ How reliable are these today, specially to be used as a daily runner & for frequent long drives ?If the engine, brakes and electrics are okay, they will continue to run forever. The first car I ever drove to work was a A72 and I drove all the way from Seeduwa to Dematagoda on a daily basis with no issues for about 2 years. Had the car a total of 14 years in the family and I have travelled all around the country in it and it never let me down. There is very little that can go wrong with these cars due to the very simple and straightforward design of the engine and electrics. If you take care of the car properly, it will run fine. Maintenance & availability of parts (Body parts / mechanical parts) ?Engine spares are available in Panchikawatte and many other shops outstation (even in areas like Kalutara where my uncle used to have the car and maintain it for about 2 years). You can even get hold of doors, fenders, windows and other body parts in the Watte area in Panchikawatte. There are other salvage yards that you can find in areas like Kurunegala where they have these parts removed from scrapped cars and stocked. However, finding won't be as easy as finding parts for a new car. There are some parts that you will not be able to find as well. For example, chrome bumpers are impossible to find. You can read this thread and read about where I have found parts for my Lancer during the restoration: http://forum.autolanka.com/topic/13719-1979-lancer-a72-restoration/ How much should I pay for a decent looking car ?Prices range between 2 and 5 lakhs these days from what I can see. I saw an exceptionally good Lancer flat light with a price tag of 8 lakhs or so a few months back. A blue one in Kegalle. Then there was another one (flat light again) for 5.25 lakhs. Those two are the ones that stuck in my mind for the best flat light Lancers I've seen recently on the classifieds. If you are not looking for a perfect example, you can find one for about 2 lakhs and then spend some money to restore it. Watched Terminator Genisys last weekend and it was... superb! I'm not going to spoil it for those who haven't watched it yet, but it sure is worth a watch. Oh and if you think you can imagine what happens in the movie just by seeing the trailer... you're wrong! Arnie was good - "Old but not obsolete". One thing should be said though: my personal favourite is still Judgement Day. I love it for the messages it gave me when I was a kid. Probably crazy for remembering all the lines but one of them was: "If a machine, a Terminator can learn the value of human life... maybe we can too". (Sarah Connor - Terminator 2 : Judgement Day) Talking about Sarah Connor, The Sarah we used to love in the old Terminator Series (Linda Hamilton) is my personal favourite of them all. Emilia Clarke as Sarah Connor... um... I dunno.

Just found out from here that they have a service centre in Battaramulla as well! About 1500km to go for the first service after the purchase and I'll probably ask my father to go there since the location is really convenient for him.

Agree with tiv. Lights are looking much much better.

The later CS Lancers probably came with one. Pretty sure mine (2001) didn't have it.

lol. For some reason your post made me think that you were the same guy trolling.

Nice! Are the wheel studs long enough to be tightened fully after both the rotor and wheels are mounted?
-
Did you have the same problem as OP or did you mistakenly use your "anonymous" login to respond to your own thread?

Agree with Rumesh. It depends on whether 1cm on the dipstick is actually high enough to cause the crank to dip itself in oil. This is why there is a min and a max level - so overfilling can be as bad as running low on oil. I'd also advise to get the oil level lowered to the max level. This is a bad practice in service stations in Sri Lanka. Service personnel are persistent on filling "a little bit more so that the filter gets filled up". In all those occasions, I insist that I will check the level the next morning and do the adjustments myself. It's easier to top up rather than drain out after all. The oil level on the dipstick will never indicate correctly just as soon as oil is filled up, and the level is bound to be a bit higher. So filling it up to "max" means that there is still some oil being drained down which will bring the level above "max" later.
