Hello, Mine is Lancer CS1, 2006, Manual and here I have attached my fuel stats. It normally does more than 11kmpl in colombo and 15/16kmpl in outstations. I always fill-up full tank and log the odometer and other fuel info in this app. This app provides me lots of reports and its very important to track issues of the vehicle(fuel related) as well as compare and improve my driving style. /cc

Hi, I just replaced all shocks and bushes in my Lancer CS1-2006, GL, Manual after 136000Kms. I suspected the bushes might need be replaced due to the sound when hitting humps. But when inspected, all shocks were gone. I chose to go with KYB and bought frond shocks for 19500.00 LKR after the discount and 16500.00 LKR for rear shocks. Didn't buy from agents but I think I got a good discount since the dealer was a good friend of my garage owner. Now I can see the significant improvement of the suspension system and having a steady ride. Need to do a wheel alignment today. /Nuwan

Lancer Or Axio? Update: Bought A Lancer! (Aka The B.r.a.t.t. Thread)
CruiseControl replied to Bracket's question in Car Buying Information
Hi Guys, I am having an issue in my Lancer CS1 (2006 manual - mileage - 125000Km) from a 1-2 weeks. When I drive the car for first 4-5kms after starting the following day, it feels I took the foot off from the acceleration pedal suddenly when accelerating(stops when I slow down). Or like 1 or 2 spark plugs stop igniting while going. It is fine after few kms after it get heated properly. I'm taking the car to the garage this weekend but posting here to get an idea before showing it to the mechanic. I noticed that I do not experience this if I start the car daily. What could be the problem, is it with the spark plugs or an engine tune-up needed or some other problem?- 800 replies

Cars become super-luxury again. Simply we have to pay 3 times to buy one. Great. -
Suzuki Maruti Alto Fuel Economy
CruiseControl replied to nels@autolanka's topic in General Automotive
I am driving my Alto K10(1000cc) for 10 months. I have got 14kmpl in city driving and average of 18kmpl in long distance. I am worried that even maruti-suzuki is not claiming 20-21 for alto 800. How did you get it. -
My Suzuki Alto K10 is giving 14kmpl in Colombo and 18kmpl outstation.

Machan I am getting a personal loan(personal loan for professionals), not a car loan. They the bank does not ask for the registration book. What they only need is the salary slip and the salary should be transferred to the commercial bank. No need for guarantors. But I think the company that we are working should be listed in bank. I got a loan last year and they asked me only a salary slip and copy of my degree certificate along with other simple docs like ID copy. Since I am going for a brand new, don't know about the registration year limit.
-
Yes, I just called my friend and the monthly installment for 1 mil would be Rs. 22,244.00 for 5 years. The problem for me is the requirement of 5 year experience. Seems I have to go for Commercial bank at 14% then.

Is it at a fixed interest rate? It seems a good offer. Is there anything to do with the registration book?

Real Meaning Of Car Sales Terminology
CruiseControl replied to harshansenadhir's topic in General Automotive
Have you seen 14-xxxx Showroom conditioned car? -
I am also willing to have a loan or a lease and found some information related to interest rates and conditions. Most of the commercial banks in SL offers personal loans at 14% fixed interest rate.(They charge a loan processing fee of 5000 - 7500 LKR) Heard that it is very hard to get a personal load from state banks. (interest rates may vary). Didn't try. St*nd*rd Ch*rter*d bank offers 11% interest rate but it is fixed only for a year. And they charge nearly 2% of insurance amount(what the hell is this?). And the loan processing fee of 5000 as well. I am afraid of non reputed financial companies (specially non-banks). They have soo many hidden charges and they will never state about them until you agreed to sign. And I am not risking my hard earned money/vehicle.

How To Buy A Used Alto Car In Good Condition
CruiseControl replied to janaka077's topic in General Automotive
Do not go for a used Alto. They all are overpriced. Go for a brand new one if you can. But k10 is around 1.4mil. -
Who Are The Worst Drivers In Sl Or Wherever You Are?
CruiseControl replied to Dominic's topic in General Automotive
Yeah, Three-wheel drivers are the worst. -
I don't think taxes will reduce further. Prices may drop due to supply and demand after passing this rush time. If you are in a hurry go for it. Cheers.

I don't know about your parents. But I just wanted to get the information about digital odometers. Whether I can trust the reading or not.
-
You never understand. I just wanted to know whether we can trust the digital odometer reading or not. I have seen some guys detach the cable in analog odometers and attach it to a drilling machine and change it in my own eyes. But we normally trust on digital meters. I am just curious!
-
I want to know that, is it possible to change the digital odometers ?? Or can we rely on the digital odometer reading when buying vehicles? I heard that digital meters can be reset easily. Is it true?

Try S*n lanka or Kl*en park. Kl*n park does Cristaline Tints. or go to darley road. Prices vary.
-
Finally I made a decision and reserved an Alto. By the way the tax has been reduced by 8% than previous. I guess it is VAT. A*W said that the shipment will be arrived in end of march.

'BLu3HaZe', I don't think Starlets are more spacious than any other car in this category. Look at leg-space in following image. http://216.157.134.75/ad.asp?ID=40778

According to the feedback of Alto owners(who have used Indian and Japanese for years) I got to know that it is not a bad car but you should know its limits very well. And it is a very good car for starter.
-
I love this post.

Most of the facts you have stated here are common with Starlets, Marches, Vivas, and Altos. They all got cramped interior, little leg space and boot space. I am not referring to maruti800 since it is a really uncomfortable. But I have seen some people have moved to Alto by selling their March(considering the economical factor) and did not had much complaints. There is a huge demand for these cars now and What I am asking is that is it (Alto) such a bad car for starter? Isn’t it really worth to spend just 1.2mil for it?
