It should be in overdrive at that speed if you are smooth with the accelerator (4th gear) Gear selection is base on 2 reading, vehicle speed and throttle position. If you are flooring it then the car will go into 3 or 2 and give better torque but if you are just cruising then it should be in OD. While going around 60 turn off OD and see if you notice a gear changed (ideally it should shift from 4 to 3). If you don't notice anything then your OD is not engaging properly. I had a horrible experience with engine degreaser at "don't care point" . For the first time in my ownership I had to leave the car there and attend to some other business. When I returned they had emptied an en entire can of degreaser all over the engine bay including over the maf, throttle body etc. I asked them to wipe it off and left since the car seemed OK. On the way back very close to my lane I suddenly lost power and throttle went nuts. I had to push the car home and immediately knew what the issues was. Called them up and blasted them about 3 times, then they sent a service adviser and the guy who "serviced" my car. They emptied and entire bottle of throttle body cleaner into the intake (i silently watched, it was like watching monkeys learning to use tools), removed all plugs and cleaned. 3 hours later the car is still misfiring like crazy, i got bored of watching "idiots at work" and told them to leave. Had to clean all the plugs again, removed them and realized that they had not gaped them properly. Cleaned the plugs and sprayed contact cleaner on the ignition coils cause they were still soaked with degreaser. Took out MAF and TPS, guess what ? soaked with degreaser ! again cleaned them also with contact cleaner and evaporated all the degreaser on the engine bay using a hair dryer. After about 1 day of drying the MAF, TPS, Plugs and Coils put everything back and she started up without a fuss. And the best part is they called me after 3 days to check how their "service" was, whoever called might have learned a new word or 2 Still waiting for a reply from them though

All these affect acceleration, not cruising speed assuming they are within reasonable margin. So mv5 is correct. However the final OD gear ratio can change from model to model. Depending on that the two vehicles can have slightly different rpms at 100 kph. Sent from my [device_name] using http://AutoLanka.com mobile app powered by Tapatalk

Yes it's most probably the engine mounts, more specifically it probably is your gel mount. The 1kr just loves to vibrate, engine mounts do fail much faster than in a 4 pot in these. The fact that it doesnt happen on P and N confirms it, there is no load on the engine in N. The gel mount is the one on top on the driver side. Check it physically and see if it's broken or not squishy. Sent from my [device_name] using http://AutoLanka.com mobile app powered by Tapatalk

It's actually very simple, Sri lanka has a very limited variation of oils. So 0w20 is synthetic and 5w30 is semi synthetic and 10w40 is mineral. This is how oils including Mobil, Toyota branded oils and most are. Sent from my [device_name] using http://AutoLanka.com mobile app powered by Tapatalk

Well I have no experience with vinyl wrap but did have a couple of branded vehicles in the previous office. It was a nightmare going anywhere since every cop on the way stopped and asked for papers. If you change the colour of your vehicle it needs to be amended on the CR, that is the law. Sent from my [device_name] using http://AutoLanka.com mobile app powered by Tapatalk

90% of Sri Lankans do not know what a JDM car is or why it's different to an export model, I guarantee you this. Ignorance is bliss. Sent from my [device_name] using http://AutoLanka.com mobile app powered by Tapatalk

mechanical GearBox Issue Nissan Cefiro A33 2000

Most probably your forward clutch is gone. Show it to Chandana or Nilwala motors (0773027118) Sent from my [device_name] using http://AutoLanka.com mobile app powered by Tapatalk -
As far as i am aware TL is able to tell the mileage since they have a proprietary scanner and not the a generic one. Either way they should be able to tell if a gear oil change is due by inspecting. I recommend doing this to all so called "low mileage" cars since it's cheaper to replace cvt fluid than to replace a gearbox. Well if this place did a crappy job didn't you try to get it repaired by them instead of going to another place Sent from my [device_name] using http://AutoLanka.com mobile app powered by Tapatalk

First of all 90% of the vitz for sale have done around 60-70,000 km in reality. But they have all had the odometer tampered, haven't you noticed that every single one on sale is around 20k? Did you scan the car before buying it? I'm guessing not, so first thing is to take it to Toyota Lanka and get the mileage checked, it should cost you about 8000 to do this. Based on that you can decide on the services. If it has passed 40k replete CVT fluid immediately! Sent from my [device_name] using http://AutoLanka.com mobile app powered by Tapatalk

As perfmad said the issue is with your heater core. Shouldnt be too hard to fix. You can also take the shortcut of blocking the coolant lines to the heater core.

Best Car for a Taxi Service - U*** or P***M*

I agree with you if it was for personal use + taxi service. But I assume op is going to operate these with drivers on full time basis and not have any personal travel involved. -
Best Car for a Taxi Service - U*** or P***M*
The Stig replied to NY_Kid's question in Car Buying Information
If this vehicle will only be used for a taxi service then the wagon r is the best bet out of the lot. You need maximum fuel economy to maximize your profit. Mira or pixies will not do better than the wagon r in city traffic. The spacia is a waste because it will still be in the same vehicle category as the wagon r -
Automatic Transmission Fluid Change - DIY Job

This is a "these days halmasso very mathematisss" kinda calculation [emoji28] How do you now that everytime you pour in 2 liters the oldest oil will come out? -
I guess you replaced with Thai rubber mounts? The rubber on those are harder than the genuine mounts, that's why you feel a bit of vibrations. Don't replace with a recon mounts, you never know the condition of the mount or how long it has been used. Get genuine brand new mounts. I think you should be able to get genuine mounts for about 8-10k. Worth it if you plan to keep your car.

You can get a 12v line from the cigarette lighter fuse. It will be on when you have accessories on. I don't think you can make the lights on only when the engine is on though.
-
Nope, though they claim so the way the sound goes away is because it reduces friction. But that also makes the belt slip silently and reduces lifetime. In addition wd 40 just deteriorates rubber which is Belt spray is a thick sticky white colour substance which adds friction instead of reducing just the noise.

There are certain places with signal interference where this sort of thing happens. For example marine drive or Galle face. Where exactly did this happen.

Push on the belt and see if there is any movement. Ideally it shouldn't move more that 1cm. Also some lower quality belts inherently make noise. You can spray some v belt spray and see if the noise goes away. You can buy them from most automotive part shops. Do not spray wd40 as it will deteriorate the rubber.

I think the 2017 swift has eps and not a hydrolic pump. -
Okay here is the solution : Don't open the oil cap when engine is running!
