Whoever gets your car will be very lucky. I sold mine a year back and I miss the driving pleasure and low slung seating position. I checked out the new civic at the motor show and it looked the part but at 26 million absolutely not worth it.
-
No vehicles in SL yet. First shipment is due to arrive this month I believe. I checked it out myself and it looks a solid proposition especially if you get the PHEV model. I baught a X70 plus a couple of weeks ago as I needed a 7 seater and this was good value compared to competitors and wasn't keen on going the EV route. Build quality is pretty good. Missing a bit of refinement when it comes to driving pleasure and surprisingly some key features - such as climate control ! My first choice was a T1 but I've been told the first 2 shipments are already sold out and couldn't really wait that long. Cant comment about agents as not taken the car for servicing but they have a new workshop in dehiwala and claim to have spare parts.

what is everyone's opinion on the new Honda City RS?
RWD replied to kiwisunset's topic in General Automotive
Ideal would be the new civic with the 1.5 turbo but I heard it's going for a crazy 24 mil and up. Just not an attractive proposition anymore sadly -
New vezel also has a CVT instead of the previous generation dual clutch so should prove more reliable apart from the usual wear and tear.

I sold my tech pack end of last year. It wasn't giving me too many problems as such but I felt the ride quality had regressed significantly and the rack was getting noisy at 50,000 kms and didnt really feel like spending and getting it fixed. I knew this would be the year the timing belt would need replacement also. Managed to sell it for almost 2.5 X the price is baught it for brand new which was very nice and just before imports opened up. I would like a a 2025 civic with the 1.5 motor but don't think any have been imported to SL yet. Saw an ad where they can get it down for 19MN.
-
II'm seeing the 1.0 unregistered Raizes advertised for around 10-11 mil. This will make the registered market for those vehicles drop significantly if they can deliver at that price, along with other registered vehicles that are going at that price.

Wouldn't recommend Sajaad (Autoforce) for paint work. Got something done a couple of years back which wasn't up to standard. Mechanical repairs and services are excellent though

I see an influx of ads of people trying to sell their cars on social media. And so called "buyers" who are most likely brokers quoting rock bottom offers no doubt trying to take advantage of all the confusion to make a quick buck. Told a few people not to be so quick to dispose of their cars in this bloodbath but if they have the finances to go for a new one to go ahead. We have to start repaying our loans by 2028 and unless some serious reforms take place between now and then this vehicle importing window could be very short lived.

Yes seems to be a common issue and the agents do fix this under warranty. On the positive side the 1.5 turbo feels surprisingly responsive for a heavy SUV and gearbox shifts are smooth. Breaks are a spongy but you get used to it. Suspension copes very well with our local conditions and you can thrash even on badly paved B roads with no issue.

We have an I auto in the household. Not had it for too long but as a 7 seater SUV it does a decent job and is quite comfortable. Build quality is a bit iffy in certain areas such as some rust near the doors, flimsy AC vents, loud AC, dodgy headunit, and rattles on bad roads. Fuel consumption is abysmal in traffic. But if you can get one which is lightly used its decent value for money in today's context especially if you are on a budget and are looking for a 7 seater to haul the family around. Relatively cheap to service at the agents too.

Well changing the timing belt costs around 130K and apparently the new belts are made of better material than the ones that came with the car so it should be more robust. Doing engine swaps is a far more complicated and expensive exercise. But I guess the additional power is a nice welcome.
-
Not sure about others but Honda discontinued. The Civic 1L didn't carry over to the next gen. They only have the 1.5 and a hybrid version I believe.
-
Guess that's why they discontinued this engine and didn't carry it forward for any of their new models
-
No experience with the issue but removing the dashboard in the past to fix things on my previous 2 vehicles (not the Civic) had always lead the dash rattling and in the case of the Toyota the dash started cracking. So for that reason alone I'd stick to the agent because you never know how the other place will do the job.

Not me.

Guys as my civic has approached the 6 year mark and not planning on selling it soon I am thinking of changing the timing belt as per the user manual. I've never serviced at Stafford ,and the garage which has maintained my car has taken good care of it so far. Anyway they quoted 88k for timing belt and balance shaft belt and additional costs for labour. Anyone got this done yet ?
-
The problem with Stafford and indeed many agents are they don't follow preventing maintenance when servicing. This is all in the manual. They are content to do an oil change, undercarriage clean up, wash and vacuum and that's pretty much it. Then for example when the transmission gives an issue when fluid hasn't been changed as per the user manual, they condemn the car. The next big issues for these Civics will be the drive belt snapping. I dread to think of the repair cost for those and how the agent will manage it. Ideally these should be changed when approaching the six year mark pro-actively.

I've been using brembos since my originals wore out at 20k when new. I've now done around 25k with them with mostly city driving and they are still good. Only issue is they are a bit noisier than the Oem's.
-
Did you find a solution to your problem?
-
Never had this issue. A couple of times when warning lights have lit up its a sign the battery is on the way out. I've changed it and no issue. Have you tried hybrid hub? Can they not do a scan and check. Also have you had a front on collision and did a repair? If so your radar sensor needs to be re-aligned.
-
The oil leak at 40k is pretty normal. I don't service at Stafford and had the same issue sorted out. Maybe you'd better get a second opinion on the suspension? Mine is also well over 40k and is still very compliant. Could it be your new tyres are harder than the previous ones that's why it feels stiff.

As someone who owned this particular model of mazda3 for almost 5 years and did over 60 000 kms I can tell you the car is bulletproof. The 1.6 MZR is very slow and not as exciting as the 1.5 sky and the gearbox is an old 4 speed auto which is a bit unrefined when thrashed. But it's solid old school tech amd won't break down unless a monkey has maintained it. All I replaced was the bumper mounts and the battery in my 5 years of ownership. That's it. I also sold it within 1 week of advertising at a profit. You are over thinking this. Get the car checked by a good mechanic and if all ok go for it.

Never bottomed out yet- but be cautious when entering and exiting sloped surfaces with a full load. Though due to the potholed state of our roads these days its not the most enjoyable experience driving even in Colombo.

Is the 2017 Suzuki Swift RS a full hybrid?
RWD replied to u.work's question in Car Buying Information
personally I'd go for the Swift-Aqua is a smaller car and the Vitz is horrible to drive -
sorry to hear about it- same thing happened to me a few months ago and its quite common these days. if yours come with blind spot monitoring- each lens costs around 60K and can be found at Teck Motors.
