  1. whoa! look whos talking his peon visits ur house wen ur away too, dnt ask me why
  2. dude wat the hell r u talking? airbags are not puching bags that attack ur face! they are meant to save a human being from injury during an accident. whats the use of it if the passenger is goin to break his neck anyway? ROFL!
  3. if they can overtake you thats it! they will apparently slowdown abit when they reach close to the drivers door during the process of overtaking and honk at u. and wen u turn right, they tel u to pull up. (we have to be blind not to see that! lol) if we still try to b a bighead n speed away theres a 99.9% chance of a roadblock ahead with police karayas who had already been alerted via walkie talkies!
  4. oh no not at all buddy i just have a few of them old sports cars. nah its ok
  5. Old gearboxes are prone to hard use. they work via oil pressure and dont have sensors to help change gear. parts can be found from dismantled gearboxes. panchikawatta 'wattha' has loads of used parts for old cars. when you say 15 years old that means like around 95, 96 models. theres parts available for vehicles produced in that time period. nah it aint costly. the newer ones are the ones which are costly and hard to find a fault. yup uato cars can be converted to manual. its very easy. all you need are the gearbox, flywheel, clutchplate, pressureplate, clutch pump lower, clutch pump assembly (upper). piping and thats it. its best to hand it over to a person/garage where they do auto to manual conversions. they will buy and fix the necessary parts. all you need to do is pay. it will cost maximum of 100000/= average price for a car conversion is 50,000 to 80,000
  6. i usually dont stop when iam stopped by traffic on the way-side on colombo-kandy road @ night coz the only thing they stop me is for high speed coz i take care not to cross lanes after a bitter experience with an SI wen i once overtook on a double line in a hurry n my dad tried to thrash the policeman wen he got furious when the SI wouldnt listen that the other vehicle was already slowing down onto d left to stop. i had to end up in courts to pay the fine! since i drive an SUV i keep a copy of one of my uncles (who is a minister) defence vehicle ID. i drive with tinted windows too! when they stop me i show the ID and they let me go. but at nights i dont stop coz i know that they didnt stop me for fun. its coz i did a mistake and so i pretend i didnt see them and i whiz past. depends on the time and situation. they dont have guns! duh!. only @ checkpoints they have and have orders to shoot. the only thing a traffic cop will do if he gets pissed is to go on pursuit and thats bad wen they get u which they wont do coz dey dont want to leave their 'spot' where they cn earn sum cash $ P.S. im not advising anyone to do this! just tellin what i did. this is STRICTLY AGAINST THE LAW.
  7. u bet i can. if u have a faster ride, bring it on buddy. and stig go read the previous comments abt the intercooler. u really are dumb as u sound
  8. once again.. dont bother. thanks
  9. oh god!! i do know that an engine works best at its optimum temp. too cool and too hot wont do good. even a kid knows that. and its true that channeling air to the rocker covers n head wont do sh*. its a part of the kit. wat i meant was it got me an advantage with the little bit of cooling it gives as d car proceeds. bigger radiators or ones with extra cores are a must i dat i know. ive been workin on cars almost half my life and i know wat shud be done n wat shudnt be done. anyway abt the kit, well it is a big story. it was at dumindas place where half was done and had to take it away as no work was being done 4 abt 6months, and it ended up at macvuds. we neva wanted a widebosy anyway. but 1 month later we come back n we get a huge hipped car! the front is dat of the nissan skyline r33 veilside kit bumper. even i dont like the huge a** but theres nothn i cn do cz i dnt want it to be lyin in garages all year round. its been 2 years since i took dat car to my hands. tz still at d bodykit workshop. there u go, dats d story!!
  10. i have got thru them all d time with notes. yeah it advisable to keep change at all times. cops are all happy to earn sum petty cash for their day to day spendings. so its always best you try to talk out the situ with offering some "help". my general line which always works is, as soon as i get out from the vehicle, go to towards the cop smiling. you know why he stopped u and the only solution is to 'bend in two' if u dnt like the ordeal of goin to post offices and courts. i always say, 'sir udawwak karanta' 'podi support ekak dennang' then he asks monawada udawwa? then i reply, dadey methana gevannang nathank post office gaanae rashthiyadu wendaoney ne, ithin dadey sir da thennang, podi uthawwak karanta, api dureng enney. thats the line! then he responds eka hondai tha? kamak nadda? and aftr dat continues wit d usual questions- kohenda enney, mokadda karanney, wahaney kithenek innawada etc! after the questioning he asks- hari ehenang kiyada thenney? ikmanta kiyanda. ape loku sir ta penda thenna epa. (LOL) then i take out my ID and roll the note and place it under and hand it over to him as if im handing over the ID. they dont even look or count the notes even. just slide it into d pocket and thats it! another relieved driver once my driver did one of d funniest pranks! an officer caught him for crossing the double lines and after the usual ordeal he had demanded Rs500 (8 years back) and asked him to place it under the policemans hat which is lying on a parapet wall just a few meters away. wat my driver did was he turned d other way and quickly swapped the 500 rupee note with a ten rupee note and placed it under the hat and left the scene with a long face as if sad at the loss of 500! lolz. i still wonder the look on their faces wen they foung d 10 rupee!
  11. what your doing on this 'other' posts of mine is dat ur trying to justify your point rather than talking on the topic and the query. take a break. u arent funny. be of some service to the ppl who really need them. nobodys got time to come online and watch a comment competition and be amused. and the moderator knows if he sees my posts that im taking my time and effort to be of some help to the others who havent got any answers to their probs of which i know what should be done. and stig, pls do me a favour, dont quote my posts. you arent funny.
  12. LOL! do your math before u start talking dude @least try 2 make use of resources available everywhere.
  13. why bother about my car and my mods? your money is invested in it or you know more than me which you think will benefit? ok go ahead and tel me about it! the engineers aint nuts to manufac single core, double and triple core radiators just for looks. its for cooling. and engines perform poor when they are overheated. im not talkin of normal operating temperarture here. get it? OVERHEAT?? and havent i clearly mentioned in plain english dat im JUST havin it for EXTRA COOLING??? rather than havin it in place of d radiator? IF my car tends ro overheat then i'l go for a radiator change. if it doesnt i wil let it be. im not using it for drags or street racing get it? and yeah d hood scoop is a good cosmetic mod and I like it. like i said, tz my choice. u can call it a ricer or junk or heap of fiber or watever amuses u guys. i aint offended. tastes differ! this goes to u too stig!
  14. ur opinion was neva asked hard luck!
  15. surely not abt urs CYLINDER HEAD dude. the more cooler the engine and the better it performs. i aint gonna go for a radiator replacement after the turbo installation coz then i'l have to lookout for a 1.8 engine radiator of a toyota which aint easy
  16. yup thats wat i'l be doin most probably coz will be taking the turbo unit and the oil pan and the sensors. thanks buddy.
  17. im being of some help to the ppl who need them. ppl come here to seek and identify a prob which they cannot find out themselves. which even you couldnt. i know wats the prob n so i shared my knowledge. appreciation is wat that counts rather than questions of indignity
  18. dude, its a y60 alright. this model came with the wide body as well as the flat body. its the flat body ur talking about. most ppl convert this to wide body by adding two panels to the rear body part on both sides and changing the front fenders and grill, rear doors and both bumpers. dashboard shold also be changed to match the new model. both are Y60 but body shape is only different. the YOM is correct. the original engine that came for this model is SD33. most replace it with TD42. no need body permit. this model came with leaf spring (dunu) suspension for both front and rear. price range for a 61- in its original state will go for around 20 to 23 max. if its got td42 engine and if its modified to widebody then its worth for 25. even i have this same model and its in the garage in the process of getting a widebody and a good paint job. mines an original flat roof with SD33 engine and im replacing all doors and dashboard, blower, heater, cooler, grill, bumpers and seats.
  19. Guys better watch out coz ive seen cops along the kandy - colombo road very often and now they are armed with speed guns. yes, they were put out of use briefly after a court ruling but have now come back as the ruling was ruled out for some other reason. from what i heard from the OIC of my area is that the speed limit within city limits is 56kmph and on highways its 72kmph. better keep an eye on the speedo as well. these guys are active at night too. they stay up till 12 midnight as well.. The next main penalty is crossing center lines. double lines and single lines are thoroughly watched upon by cops hiding in bushes and behind trees. road rules are a must if you dont want to end up in courts!
  20. its awaiting an engine swap. a hybrid. 5efhe turbo. thats why the intercooler is fixed prior to the bodykit. this aint for sale either. the top air scoop is to increase airflow to the head. coz it wont be a 1.3 starlet engine, its gonna b a 1.5 turbo.
  21. i see my sera here its one of a kind and so its got one of a kind of a kit. my car, my petrol, my style. and shanx every car iwith a bodykit is a ricer? but then again if so then my ricer civic is faster dan urs with all the heavy fiber work and stuff
  22. dudes! turbo city charges huge amounts! you can buy a new unit for that price. the prob with the cv 30 is that the air tubes goin to the turbo pressure sensor has been swapped or changed. its near the chassis number area. else replace the sensor. cost only 1500 or 2000 max at recon spare parts dealers.
  23. seems you have worn dripping injectors and or bad timing or distributor alignment..
  24. simple solution. remove radiator cap (when cold) and start your car and let it warm up. then check if you can see airbubbles comin out from the radiator. if so, water will eventually rise up and start overflowing. if this happens then you have a blown gasket or a cracked cylinder head. else if nothing happens then simply replacing the radiator cap will solve the problem! cheers!
  25. if i was in ur shoes i wud nevr opt for a duplicate book! i wud file a lawsuit to get the original one! never suffer for sumbdy elses mistake bro!!! besides, a vehicle with a duplicate CR goes for a lower price in the market and most ppl just dont like to even buy it.
