Ioc X-Tra Mile Diesel Or Ceypetco Super Diesel
TechHater replied to Bunnings's topic in General Automotive
kia diesels are designed to use ultra low sulphar to keep euro v emission standards.it contains 50ppm sulfur. unfortunately its not available in sri lanka. the closest we can go is lanka super diesel with 500ppm sulphar. the IOC xtra premium thing is just regular diesel with 3000ppm sulfur and sme additive to minimize engine friction. so forget what the idiotic KIA agents say(bad in every aspect) and go for lanka super diesel -
I had to repair my front side pannel and the driver side mirror of my car after a private bus crashed in side.the insurance people agreed to replace both. the repair job was given to "K*undas*le Auto W*rks" where many told me its the hot spot in Kandy for these issues.the initial impression was good.a man with a tie claiming to be an advisor got hold of the matter and ordered the parts through toyota lanka right away. it took 2 1/2 months for the parts to land (as they said from japan) and the advisor forgot the whole story in few days,so i had to poke toyota lanka to get down the parts.meanwhile i had to drive the car with all sorts of plasters on. only after the parts were there, they noticed that they ordered the wrong parts.it took another two weeks to get the right part(as they said through special delivary).then they agreed to finsh the job in 4 days only if i pay their sum before the insurance cheque comes ,which i agreed. the first two days ,the vehicle was parked on the same spot without even someone bothering to look at. on the third day i was steaming with anger and blasted the advisor guy and the tinkering dept after which they vehemently took over the job. on the fourth day when i returned from work early to have a look at the progress, i was amazed to see that in almost 10 hrs of on and off working hours, they have fixed the front pannel.puttied the front panel and front door ,fixed the mirror, cut the rough, applied primer and applied under coating too. i waited while to see how this "wonder baas" complete the rest. a young bloke came in after lunch and started spraying in the open dust. i asked what the two painting booths are there for. he said for these kind of paints booth painting is not good. then i asked him whether the toyota company is having their painting plant in the open dust which he had no clue. the advisor guy had no clue either ,he said he didnt even know the painting has started. the next day the job was done and the car was parked outside. obviously the colours were different. the wonder bass had forgot to cover the gaps between panels and spray was all over inside the A pillar.and finish was a total mess. i had to get another baas guy to remove the paint on rubber beadings. and clear coat had drip marks on few spots, when i showed them they said it needs a cut and polish which is not included in this job which i have to do as a separate job on my expense after all,it was a bad ,incomplete, work of shit with a labour cost alone being 42K. My advise, Please avoid this place, you can get a much better work done for much lesser cost elsewhere.

Need Expert Openion On Emission Standard
TechHater replied to TechHater's question in Mechanical problems
any expert openions pls.... -
dear experts i have ordered a kia sportage for the permit about 6 months back.they are now lagging behind the due date about 11/2 months now.when i inquired about the delay, they say its regarding an engine issue. intially the engine specs were given as 1995cc CRDI with VGT complient to EURO 4-5 standards. but now they say the mother company has decided to fix euro 2 standards to our orders to match our diesel standards(which i feel is good). my problems are is euro 2 and euro 4 differ only with emission.will perfrmance be affected if that is the case why are they still fixing euro 4 engines to sorentos. should this conversin include transmission and other vital component chnges as well pls i need background knowladge before i go and discuss about it.

Difference Between Honda Fit Area & City (Gd 8)
TechHater replied to Chaturathi's topic in General Automotive
both cars are more or less the same.but fit area is the JDM model while city is the export version made in thailand or india.in city, leather interior, CD player etc.. came as standard. the thailand version was mostly exported to singapore and herein sri lanka has both brand new and recnditioned singaporian vehicles. their build quality is nearly equal to JDM version. but the indian one is crap. why fit area is expensive is because its JDM vehicle. But if price is lower i think thailand made city brand new is a better buy. -
People troubled by the bad and malpractises of the vehicle agent is a common situation. some times they dont deliver on promised date, some times add hidden charges, while some wait deliberately till the taxes go up even when they are able to clear it on time. as i heard k*a agents have not given a sales agreement to any one. is there any place or institution or a relavant authority to complain on these matters. i remember someone mentioned about " insurance ombudsman" some time back for insurance issues. this information will be useful for many.

Will The New Tax Policy Affected My Already Ordered Car?
TechHater replied to chathu87's topic in General Automotive
i dont think permits will be affected.its calculated on NBT,airport levy, and certain amount of cess only. this new tax is not included in the grant scheme. -
according to this, no need to replace engine oil at first 1000km, right?,but even agents are asling to do so..

Claiming From Offender's 3Rd Party Insurance
TechHater replied to monty's topic in General Automotive
i faced a similar situation recently. a bus trying to overtake several vehicles right on the zebra crossing knoked my back door and side mirror. driver refused to pay any money. the bus owner came and he was a real thug.he refused to pay any thing as well.i immediately called police and made an entry.bus was taken to police and they said it'll be detained for sometime.but when i hung out in the town and heading back to home( abt 1.5hrs later) i saw the same bus full with people taking its next turn.later i found out owner is central province ch#%f mi%&sters cousin. police told me the tedious story of claimig damage from 3rd party and the best is to claim it from my own insurance -
yeah some ppl do all the shit for axios/allions,and some ppl say all the shit to increase post count without making a sensible answer to the question

i used a 2003 idsi manual for almost 2.5 yrs.being manual it was so fuel efficient(~12kmpl city).but the power is hopeless despite a 1.5l engine.parts are not expensive and not dificult to find.but the body strenth ( thikness of metal etc..) is not up to a civic. boot space is very large.i had few problems like a leaking radiator pipe (had to get down from singapore) and randomly dysfunctioning wipers etc.no major repairs.sold for 21.75 last yr
