On board fuel economy display is optimistic as the video shows.
-
My recent trip to Nawalapitiya from Malabe through Hatton road had some interesting fuel consumption situation. Going up hill with only 2 adults + 1 kid and light boot did max 17.2 KMPL until Kithulgala and then went down as the climb became bit steep from there. Final average came around 15.4 KMPL. Down hill trip with 3 adults and loaded boot (hal pol freight) did 15.6 KMPL max and once we reached back home it was about 15 (including a stop with engine running for some grocery shopping). Both ways are with some normal traffic congestion. Note that these figures are from on board computer and I had never bothered to check tank to tank method nor I'm concerned with fuel figures at all.

Mitsubishi Lancer GL 1993 CB8A Gearbox Upgrade
hrm replied to Vikum Samarasinghe's question in General
Nice looking car. I had the petrol variant CB2A. It was my very first car. -
Still 1980s news reporting by the media. More information about the crash has now emerged . So it's the front female passenger who has died while her husband was the driver. There was another video showing her husband giving cpr to her desperately. Shocking.
-
As I heard it's the passenger who has died and not sure whether the driver is male or female. Looks like the wagonR made a turn without stopping or slowing like a tuk tuk. Subie is also way too fast for a public road to be driven and was known to be driven like that previously in the same area.

It's the usual response that many AC guys give and I had to push them to fix a 260 compressor instead of 121 one. I don't know about 141 but it's not so recommended for Allion/Premio/Axios. 121 compressor is a conventional clutch based one and actually reliable because it's simple in operation and it only engage momentarily based on cabin temp. But those original VDC compressors are controlled by the ECU with variable compression based on many parameters and permanently coupled with the engine. They add considerably less load for the engine compared to the 121 compressor. and doesn't affect fuel economy no matter your turn AC on or off. It's kinda trade off.

Agreed.

I don't sweat it actually. I just replace according to what agent says because I can . Just kidding but actually I don't know if there's any technical study was done to find where the SL conditions fit in the maintenance schedules meant for Japan so I'm just going with the agent and owners could think otherwise.
-
Yes it has a CVT gearbox. You may refer articles similar to below on what CVT is and it's advisable to change CVT fluid in every 40000 KM or less for Sri Lankan conditions. Also always put Toyota CVT-FE for your CVT gearbox, nothing else. https://www.autoexpress.co.uk/car-tech/101267/what-is-a-cvt-gearbox

In my case they had removed the condenser, checked for leaks/damages, cleaned and fixed it back. But I didn't had the noise you mentioned so better to check that before replacing the compressor.
-
True but I took the risk and installed a used one since these VDC type compressors anyway not going to last like conventional compressors. Even a 55K worth brand new one might give up after 50K KM or so depending on usage. However I don't suggest you to do the same but it seems TL price for a genuine Denso Japan made compressor is just about right. Btw why did you need to change the condenser?
-
There are brand new compressors available for 50-70K at some places but I don't think they are from Japan. Maybe from Thailand or Taiwan. They are compatible with Allion, Premio and Axios and not sure about 141 though. I had the issue in my car and chose to replace with a used genuine compressor for 11K as I remember and it was still working after 1 year of use.
-
Have you found a specimen? How much is the asking price? I think both NSP130 Vitz and Axio161 1.3 has the same engine and obviously under powered for a sedan. Also it doesn't even get a tachometer right?
-
Normal I think. Sound of steering wheel lock getting released or something.

Congrats ! So the owner initially put it on display on a sale I guess and most sales keep the battery disconnected or removed it all together to stop draining.

So you are buying from a car sale and expect it to be genuine? I mean buying a Premio from a car sale ? Premio, car sale and honesty usually not going to be in a single sentence unless you are vey lucky. You know if a car like Premio is in a such good condition the current owner could have easily sell it himself. Was the car sold on open papers or is it just on display at the sale ?However if you have made up your mind then do a thorough check with TL before buying.

Please search the forum. There are lots of things discussed about Premios/Allions in general. Simple answer is you should have to have the 2000cc engine variant to get the original G Superior trim. There is a G Superior dealer package introduced to 1500cc variant also but it's pretty hard to distinguish it from local maka bass/sale bayya modifications which is the case with about 99% G Superiors in SL. Sometimes it's just the Rs 4000 badge sourced from Panchikawatte. Easiest thing is to do is to forget the G Superior thing (as it's fake anyways) and pay attention to overall condition, maintenance and ownership details. If you find a loaded one with above criteria take that as a bonus.

Cornering body roll, rear passenger comfort & space
hrm replied to everyf4's question in Car Buying Information
If it helps I had a Vitz 1.3 2007 for 4 years and regularly did Colombo to Nawalapitiya through Ginigathhena which included narrow and rough estate roads at my relations village. Ground clearance is bit low at 145mm but still it always got where i want it to be without a sweat. -
At To*ota that would cost more than 65K.
-
Yep. TNGA is working pretty good for Toyota.
-
Only thing I like in this one is the interior center console. Looks like they have gone back to GD1 era with the exterior and doesn't look exciting they used to be. Funnily for me, Honda has become Toyota with this and Toyota has become Honda with the new Yaris at least by outside looks.

hrm replied to Akhila-Galle's question in Electrical problems
Yep sometimes mechanical key tends to stuck at key barrel due to non-usage but usually work after you attempt couple of times unless OP has a newly programmed FOB without a matching key or door was changed somehow. -

That's a possibility. Mechanical key saved me several times. -

hrm replied to Akhila-Galle's question in Electrical problems
Why mechanical key is not working? Door lock worn out?
